Sleep Perchance to Dream

Page 1

There is a sacred hour between darkness and dawn - that half-awake, half-asleep space where thought and dream blend, and the soul begins to whisper. Our ancestors knew this rhythm well. They slept in two acts, the first sleep and the second sleep, separated by quiet wakefulness. In that still hour, they prayed, wrote, meditated, or sat beside the fire, listening to the silence speak.
