ABSTRACT

Epstein-Barr Syndrome Post-Viral Illness, Immune Dysregulation, and Chronic Fatigue Patterns

This booklet was written to address a persistent gap in clinical understanding. Patients who experience ongoing fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and systemic symptoms following viral illness are often left without clear answers or effective care. While acute infections are well recognized, the transition from acute illness to chronic dysfunction is frequently overlooked or misunderstood. In clinical practice, this pattern is not uncommon. Patients present with a history that is consistent, repeatable, and recognizable. A viral illness occurs, the patient appears to recover, and yet something does not return to normal. Energy remains diminished, resilience is reduced, and the body no longer responds as it once did. Over time, this develops into a chronic condition that affects multiple systems. Dr. Gregory Lawton
