This concerto was commissioned by Philippe Limoge, vibraphonist and the premiere took place on 14 February 2008 in Montpelier with the Orchestre of Jean Lennert.
I have dedicated this concerto to my son Valentin.
General note:
The Original Score: The scoring is for Solo Vibraphone and String Orchestra (2 violins, viola and violoncello), 2 percussions (+ Marimba and Glockenspiel played by Percussion), and one double bass (with amplifier).
The Piano Score:
I have made a piano reduction as well which can be used instead of the String Orchestra. In the piano reduction score the parts for percussions (+ parts for Marimba/Glockenspiel) and double bass are included.
It is important that the percussions and double bass parts are played as well as the piano part in order to get the best possible result.
