“We Are the Music” celebrates the importance of music programs in our schools. Part of the text comes from T. S. Eliot’s “The Dry Salvages.” Additional texts were generated by students in two different school districts in Michigan. The students were asked to write about what their music programs mean to them. For SATB choir, youth/middle school choirs, strings and band. “We Are the Music” was designed to be performed by all students in a middle school and high school music program. Ideal for district-wide music performances.
The premiere took place on April 14, 2018 in Mona Shores, Michigan. It was performed by students from 4th through 12th grade in the band, orchestra, and choir programs.
