This Magnificat setting is written for two antiphonally spaced choirs in SSAATTBB voicing, offering a rich, polychoral texture. The work balances moments of luminous stillness with rhythmic vitality, using the division of the double choir to explore call-and-response, imitative polyphony, and immersive harmonic layering. It was commissioned by Kraig Scott and Walla Walla University to be a companion to Gustav Holst's "Nunc Dimmitis"
Ideal for advanced ensembles, the piece demands a strong sense of ensemble blend, tuning, and spatial awareness, rewarding choirs with a deeply expressive and resonant interpretation of one of Christianity’s most beloved canticles.
