Part of the CAI Icon Series This piece was ultimately the result of a number of climate anxiety-induced journaling sessions that morphed into a compositional exercise. I feel deeply apprehensive about the climate crisis and often find that I best unpack and explore my emotions through writing music, so this piece is more or less the result of that. While I can’t say I had “fun” writing this piece (certainly wouldn’t call reading the 2022 IPCC report a joyful experience!), I’m quite pleased with the tonal colors I got to play around with throughout it.
