About the Work This work is dedicated to my friend and colleague Carolina Flores.
The text wishes the best for the future for those we meet along the way, known or unknown. The structure is very simple: after a simple introduction, two stanzas and a very moving double refrain are set out, ending with a short coda. The character is sweet and tries to reflect the goodness and peace of mind suggested by the text. God’s Blessing was premiered by NEOVOCALIS, conducted by myself, on 2 April 2022 as part of the HOPE project. Rafael Sánchez Mombiedro
About me I am an active choral composer, arranger, director, and a professor of Improvisation based in Valencia, Spain. Choral music has been my passion since my childhood. I started my musical training in my hometown as a chorister at the ‘Escolanía de la Virgen’. The training of those years still influences my compositions (which are mostly sacred) and arrangements for choir and piano. In 2003, I founded the all-professional chamber choir, NEOVOCALIS, which specializes in contemporary choral music. The ensemble has premiered most of my compositions under my direction.
