Set for SSAA with optional soprano solo, the text and melody from the traditional "O Come Emmanuel" carol is slightly re-worked and opens with the Latin phrase, "Dum spiro spero," meaning, "While I breathe, I hope." It begins contemplative, and ends joyfully with the word "Rejoice!" resounding like church bells in celebration. Performed by The Cascadian Chorale in December of 2017.
Performed by Safonia under the direction of Marla Wasson, (also included on their seasonal CD entitled "Merry and Bright") and the Cascadian Chorale under the direction of Dr. Gary Cannon both in December of 2017. Hear, see, and buy it on MusicSpoke. http://musicspoke.com/downloads/dum-spiro-spero
