Duet,' winner of the 2019 Illinois ACDA Choral Composition Competition, is an accompanied SATB piece based on the 1884 poem by celebrated Poet Laureate, Alfred Lord Tennyson. Featuring melodic, melancholy two-part duets between the voices, the piece speaks symbolically of Love, as coming up with the sun from the sea, with the ability to shape and shatter but also resurrect a life. To keep the purity of sets of vocal duets throughout, there is no divisi. The theme is Love, suitable for a concert, and would be considered medium difficulty.
