Canción de la noche en el mar' is a habanera for mixed choir that I composed in 2009 for my chamber choir, NEOVOCALIS, in our participation in the 55th Torrevieja International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest (Alicante, Spain). The poem, of a fantastic and mythological character, is by the Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío (1867-1916), and the music tries to reflect the text at all times. The recording was made in 2019 by the Ad Libitum Chamber Choir of the Escola Coral de Quart de Poblet (Valencia, Spain), conducted by Francesc Gamón, and included in his album 'Essència'.
