Guest Artist Yuuka Nakamura, Saxophone

With resident artist Pat Grimm, piano

A classical saxophonist from Tokyo, Japan, Nakamura has won prizes in international competitions and is a member of the Urban Saxophone Quartet in London, UK.

Vu Nguyen, conductor

We commemorate the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing with a performance of Adolphus Hailstork’s “American Guernica.”

Other pieces include David Gillingham’s “Be Thou My Vision” and Ralph Vaughan Williams’s “English Folk Song Suite.”
