As winter fades away, the excitement of spring’s arrival is in the air! I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy some fun activities with your family during Spring Break. Soon we’ll be preparing for the Easter season, which is such a special time of year. It’s a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect, and be thankful for our many blessings as we enjoy life together here in Nolensville.

Be sure to mark your calendar for the Historic Nolensville Buttercup Festival on May 2, 2026. This event is one of our town’s most cherished community gatherings and offers a full day of fun for individuals and families alike. Attendees can explore the historic district, visit local businesses, enjoy our eateries, browse unique vendors, and spend the day celebrating with friends and neighbors.

As always, each issue will continue to spotlight local people doing good in our community. This is your magazine, and I truly value your thoughts, interests, and ideas for what you would like to see and read. A Big Screen Vision for Our Community

Dear Nolensville,

My name is Brian Bass and I am the TV/Film teacher and Media Coordinator here at Nolensville High School. As some of you may know, we are in the midst of an enormous fundraising campaign in hopes of installing a JumboTron Board on our football field by this fall.

Honestly, when I first heard about this campaign, I did a bit of an eye roll and assumed it to be a football-related fundraiser. However, I am here to tell you that this project has incredible potential for the academic growth and work-based opportunities at our school.

This board will be able to showcase not only our athletes, our band, and graduation ceremonies, but it will provide an opportunity for our film and sports marketing classes to shine like never before.

The first facet of this academic growth is quite obvious: the Board will showcase student- made graphics, hype videos, and sports content for the entire town on gameday. This will allow our students work to be on display to a larger audience, and offer more chances to highlight our athletes and student life.

The second facet is the professional advertising opportunities that the board would provide to my higher-level film students. Advertisements on the board can be sold to local businesses. They will then be written, shot, and produced by my film students. The ads will then be shown on the Board. This allows not only local businesses to receive a professional level ad at the price of their donation, but the opportunity for my students to gain real world experience and have professional commercials for their college portfolios. It really is a win for the town and the students.

We are SO CLOSE to achieving our goal, and I thank you for your consideration. This Board will have benefits that stretch far beyond football!

ABuilding Connections: Greenways and Trail System

s Nolensville continues to grow, the Town of Nolensville’s Engineering Department is focused on ensuring that the Town’s infrastructure evolves with it—not just roadways and utilities, but the amenities that shape everyday quality of life. The Town’s sidewalk and greenway system plays a vital role in how residents connect within our community.

Today, the Town maintains approximately 87.58 miles of sidewalk and 15.72 miles of greenway. These miles represent more than concrete and asphalt—they reflect years of coordinated planning, partnership with developers, and a long-term commitment to connectivity and livability.

The Sunset Road Greenway provides a safe, shared-use path that connects neighborhoods and supports walking, running, and cycling. The Historic Downtown Nolensville Trailhead serves as a central access point to the system, strengthening the connection between outdoor recreation and our historic commercial district.

From an engineering perspective, greenways are intentional infrastructure investments. They improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, create alternatives for short-distance travel, and support public health. Trails also deliver environmental benefits by preserving open space, protecting stream corridors, and incorporating stormwater management best practices into their design.

As development continues, connectivity remains a central priority for the Town. With approved projects now breaking ground, the Town anticipates adding an additional 15.58 miles of greenway, representing a significant expansion of our current system.

Beyond projects already approved, the Town is actively planning for the next phase of growth. The Trails, Arts, Parks and Streetscapes Advisory Comittee (TAPS Advisory Committee) has begun focusing its efforts on identifying and prioritizing future trail connection opportunities. Our objective is clear: to create a cohesive system that links neighborhoods, parks, schools, downtown, and future development areas—while preserving the rural character that defines Nolensville.

As engineers and public servants, Town staff views every sidewalk and greenway mile as an investment in the Town’s future. We encourage residents to explore the trails currently available and stay engaged as we continue expanding and enhancing the system in the years ahead. Together, we are building connections that will serve Nolensville for generations.

Soccer Stars Nashville started with a simple idea: youth sports should build confidence first and skills second. When I launched the program locally, I wanted children to leave our classes feeling proud of themselves — whether they scored a goal, made a new friend, or simply tried something new.

Before Soccer Stars, I worked in the corporate world as an engineer, trainmaster, and corporate real estate manager. While I loved problem-solving and leadership, I felt called to build something rooted in community and impact. As a mom of four in Nolensville, with both elementary and preschool-aged children in local schools, I see firsthand how meaningful structured, positive environments can be in shaping confidence and character.

What began as a small preschool enrichment program has grown into partnerships with schools across Middle Tennessee. This spring, we’re expanding through the SACC program — bringing structured, high-energy soccer instruction directly to public elementary schools.

We’re especially fortunate to have our master head coach, Coach Mo, leading the way. After nearly a decade with Super Soccer Stars in New York City, he moved to Nolensville to be closer to family. His

One of the most exciting milestones this year is the launch of our Soccer Stars summer camps. And true to our motto — no more boring summer camps — these weeks are designed to be active, creative, and full of variety.

While soccer will be part of the fun, our camps go far beyond the field. Each week includes active games, adventure-style challenges, arts and crafts, and special enrichment activities. We’re collaborating with local youth organizations to bring in unique experiences, and former local teachers are helping design the curriculum to ensure the days are intentional, well-paced, and inclusive. The structure remains consistent each week, while activities rotate — making it the perfect option from Memorial Day through the Fourth of July.

After spending the last six years in the historic Nolensville creamery building, The Amish House opened its new showroom in Nolensville on March 1, marking a new era for this celebrated Amish furniture retailer. What makes this year’s Nolensville lacrosse team unique compared to last season’s squad?

The biggest difference between this year and last year is we are a much younger team this year. We do have a large senior class, but we’re going to have a lot of younger players playing very important roles in very important games.

Who are the key returning players, and what leadership or skills do they bring back to the team?

Our senior captains are our best players and our leaders this year. Goalie Braden Olsen, attackman Aaron Sylvester, midfielder Landon Bowman, and defensemen Zach Hueneke and Hudson Trautman have a ton of experience. They’ve been in three straight state championship final games and have won two state titles.

Are there any new players joining the program this year, and how have they adjusted so far?

Our freshman class is the strongest freshman class you’ve ever had at Nolensville. With 15 freshmen, competition at practices is fierce and the potential for a bright future is there.

What are your primary expectations and goals for the team this season?

We have very high expectations for our team this year and fully expect to be back in the state championship game. We know we have a lot of work to do and it won’t be easy, but we’re hoping to be playing our best lacrosse in May.

How are you building team chemistry and unity among both new and returning players?

We anticipate a lot of bumps along our journey to the playoffs. Injuries are always something to deal with so having a deep bench is important. We understand there’s a process and we strive to improve every single day.

Are there any games or matchups on the schedule that you’re especially looking forward to?

We’re really looking forward to our region games. It’s important for us to be successful in these games to set us up for our playoff run. We’re also looking forward to playing rival Wilco teams like Ravenwood, Brentwood and Franklin. Our schedule also includes some games with the states’ best private school programs like MBA, MUS, and Baylor.

What would define a successful 2026 season for Nolensville lacrosse?

A successful season will be defined by two things. Are we having fun and are we getting better. We want to make sure that our players are having a good time playing lacrosse. If we’re having fun, we’re working hard and we’ll be successful on the field. We also want to make sure that we’re getting better every time we’re on the field. We want to improve our skills, our lacrosse IQ, or become a better teammate in every practice or game.

An Interview With Zach Hudson

Our team this year is a special group that has bonded well. Our goals are extremely high and we will play a very challenging schedule that we think will prepare us for a deep postseason run.

What are the key strengths of this year’s team, and where do you see room for growth?

We return a lot of experience from last year and have a very deep roster. A strength for us will be our pitching with a lot of quality arms including Wyatt Clatur, Caleb Gilbert, Hayden Hupka, Aiden Oppenheimer, Watts Corum, Hutch Weaver, and Parker Vandercook. Also, we should be able to play defense at a high level, especially returning key contributors in Evan McElvain, Kael Barney, Kyson Barney, Griffin Hendrickson, Jimmy Marzullo, Ryan Newell, and Tyler Barth. We will also have Tanner Jackson, William Satinoff, and Grayson Riddle competing for spots. Offensively, we should be a tough match up for opposing pitchers as we should be able to manufacture runs in different ways.

What are your expectations or goals for the team this season, both on and off the field?

Our expectations are to be playing our best baseball at the end of the season. If we can do that, we will have a chance to be very successful.

How have you been preparing the team for tough matchups or key rivals this year?

As soon as our season ended last year, and over the course of the summer and fall, our team has been extremely focused on developing our standards and competing at a high level in everything that we do. By doing that, we’ve been able to prepare for the difficult match ups we will have this spring.

What has been the biggest challenge or obstacle you’ve faced in coaching this year’s team?

Not that this year has been perfect, but this team genuinely likes each other, enjoys spending time together, and has done a great job preparing for the upcoming season. Pair that with the talent that we have and it has made for an enjoyable off season. We are certainly ready for the season!

In early March, we will travel to Knoxville to play the 4x defending state champion Farragut and Oak Ridge, who has been to the last 2 state tournaments. Those will be some marquee matchups. Also, this spring, we’ve been invited to the National High School Invitational in Cary, NC which includes 16 of the top high school baseball programs from across the country. This will be an incredible opportunity for our team. And as always, we look forward to competing against the other teams in our district/ Williamson County.

An Interview With Luke Patton

What makes this year’s Nolensville softball team special compared to last season?

We graduated a number of starters from last year's team, so we are excited to see who is going to step up. We have a lot of talent and will be a team that continues to improve as our players gain more experience.

Who are the key returning players, and what leadership or skills are they bringing back?

This year we have six seniors that we are expecting a lot from. Sarah Chittom (C/ IF), Madi Creasman (P/2B), Ava Lavender (SS/2B), Ella Noe (P/1B), Lexi Sparkman (C/IF), and Alyssa Utz (P) are all looking

to build on their accomplishments from last year. Peyton Vieira (junior 3B/SS), Anna Dotson (junior P/OF), and Juliet Jones (sophomore IF/OF) are also looking for continued improvement. They will provide veteran leadership for our younger players and set the tone for us in practices and games.

Are there any new players joining the team this year, and how have they integrated so far?

We have nine freshman on the team this year. They are a talented group and fit in well with Lady Knights softball.

What are your primary expectations or goals for the team this season?

Our goal is to improve every day in practice and compete in our district.

How are you developing team chemistry and unity among players, both new and returning?

We talk frequently about team unity and

find opportunities to work on team building whenever we can.

What challenges or obstacles do you foresee for the team this year, and how do you plan to tackle them?

The biggest challenge will be finding the right mix of players each day and maintaining team chemistry.

Are there any standout games or matchups you’re particularly excited about?

We really enjoy the competition that we get from the Williamson County teams in our district and region. We always have a lot of exciting games with them.

What would you consider a successful season for the Nolensville softball team in 2026?

We will consider the season a success if we improve as individuals and as a team throughout the course of the season.
