hen I started Nolensville Town Life, my goal was simple: to create a magazine that celebrates the people, businesses, organizations, and stories that make Nolensville such a wonderful place to live. What I have discovered is that there is no shortage of good to share. Each month, I am privileged to meet and learn about people making a difference—business owners who invest in our community, teachers who inspire, students who accomplish great things, volunteers who give their time, and neighbors who step up to help others. These are the stories that remind us what makes a community truly special. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who welcomes Nolensville Town Life into their homes and takes the time to read it each month. I am equally thankful for our advertisers and local businesses whose support helps make this magazine possible and whose investment strengthens our community. When you support a local business, you are supporting the people and families who make Nolensville home. As you begin your second season at Nolensville, how has the team grown since you first arrived, and what excites you most about this year’s group? We're bigger, stronger, and faster since last season. We had a year in the weight room together, and our numbers reflect the improvement our players have made. They worked extremely hard and we're excited about the season. 2. Who are some of the returning players that fans should keep an eye on this season, and what leadership have they shown during the offseason? We return 7 starters each on offense and defense. Offensively we're excited about

returning 4 of our offensive linemen: Steven Diaz, Brayden Holland, Ethan Morelock, and Croix Parks. In addition, we return Andrew Harrison at TE, Tristen Lithmexay at

RB, and Ryan Newell at QB. Defensively we return Defensive Linemen: Jake Sentell and Andrew Harrison. William Tomlinson and

Cole Creciun at LB as well as Brennan Bialek and Caden Woodard. These guys are part of

and physical defense.

4. What position groups have made the biggest strides since spring practice, and where have you seen the most competition for playing time? I hope all of them have made the biggest strides! But I would have to say our Wide

Receiver and Defensive Back groups. We lost 3 starters at WR and 2 at Corner. They will be very difficult to replace, but we have several kids working to get playing time.

5. What have your players accomplished this summer—in the weight room, at camps, and

in team workouts—that gives you confidence heading into the season?

We worked out this summer at 6 am and

had great attendance at all of them. They

like to be coached and pushed to get better. They believe in high standards and the

accountability it takes to be a special team. We are using some new technology (GPS trackers, timing gates, jump sensors, and

velocity training) that measures their speed, explosiveness, and overall athleticism. The

numbers show the players the improvement they've made in every area.

6. Looking at your schedule, what

challenges do you expect your team to face, and how do you prepare your players for such a competitive slate?

It's the same opponents as last year with home and away games flipped. It starts with Lebanon, Blackman, and Page who defeated us last year. Plus, I think the teams we were fortunate to beat last season will be greatly improved: Summit, Overton, Tullahoma, Lawson, Hillsboro, Centennial, and Rossview. We've been preparing for this since January. The players have embraced the process of Winter Workouts, Spring Practice, Summer Workouts, 7on7, and now Preseason practice. They know that everything we do has a purpose and they are working to have a special season. 7. Beyond wins and losses, what goals have you set for this team, and what would you consider a successful 2026 season? I want them these players to enjoy the journey. They've set high goals, but it can't just be about the destination. Embrace the hard work, enjoy the time with your teammates in the locker room, on the bus, eating meals together, and being a football player at a very special high school. I always believe that we really won't know if we had a successful season for about 20 years. That's when we want all of our players to be great husbands, fathers, employees, and outstanding members of the community. 8. What message would you like to share with the Nolensville community and Knights fans as they get ready to support the team this fall? There is no better place to play football on Friday nights than Nolensville High School because of the exciting environment that our students and community bring to the stadium each week. Come out to see our new turf, resurfaced track, LED lights, and video board. Thank you for all of your support that made the video board a reality for our program. You will also love watching this football team play. Their effort will be special on every play. They will bring a physical and exciting brand of football.

he key word/concept that I believe this season will hinge upon is trust. This is one of our reset words that we use in situations in which we confront adversity. We want to create an atmosphere where players trust each other, trust the process that has been set to achieve short term and long-term goals, and trust that we have done the work to give ourselves the best chance possible to achieve those goals. We recognize that hard work is expected, but hard work does not necessarily guarantee results. The long-term goal of the NHS program is to make it to the state tournament. We recognize this is a long-term goal that can only be achieved if we make progress over the course of multiple seasons. For this season, the goal is to finish higher that we finished last season in the district standings.

We are a young team with only one senior, our roster numbers are lower than in the past and with that some players will be forced into situations that will be very challenging. If we are able to successfully navigating these challenges while supporting each other it will be a great accomplishment for our program. We have several players that we will rely on to help us achieve our on-the-field goals including a stellar pair of sophomore goal keepers: Ava Veinbergs and Morgan Givens. It would be hard to find a better tandem of Sophomore keepers across the state. Avery Bea and Grace Shone will be leading the attack for NHS this year (another pair of sophomores). Anchoring the defense will be Caden Joseph (junior) and Sunny Moynihan (sophomore).

What are your expectations for

this year’s Nolensville High School

volleyball team, and what makes this group special?

Expectations are high for the 2026 NHS volleyball team. We return 8 of our top 9 contributors from last season and we hope that experience can catapult us to a great start this fall. Who are some of the key returning

players who will play important roles this season?

Taylor Collins, SR OH, Avery Ethridge SR Setter, Sadie Deming JR Setter, Natalie Bane SR OH, Kamryn Knox SR OPP, Josie Ladd JR MB. Are there any newcomers or younger

players who have impressed you during

the offseason or preseason?

Avery Strandmark, SO MB.

What are the team’s biggest strengths heading into the 2026 season?

Experience returning, consistency at setter position, and team chemistry.

What areas are you looking for the team

to improve on as the season progresses? We want to continue to work on our serve receive, and overall consistency.

How would you describe the chemistry and leadership on this year’s team?

We have quality leaders returning from

past teams. Specifically Avery and Sadie

at the setter position. Taylor Collins is a 4

year starter with loads of experience and emerging as a vocal leader as well.

What are some of the biggest challenges

the team will face this season, and how do you plan to prepare the players?

The toughness of district 10-AAA is always a challenge. We have so many high level

teams that every night in the district is like a high pressure post season match. We want our players to play loose and free

but also know the importance of each and every match.

What are your goals for the team this

season, and what would make you look back at the end of the year and say it was a successful season?

We want to make a run at a district

championship. We want to enjoy the

process and journey of the season and when we look back, I want the girls to

know and truly feel we left everything we had on the court each night.

RECOGNIZING AN OUTSTANDING SENIOR Joy Schoen is a rising senior at Nolensville High School dedicated to leadership, service, and community impact. She serves as President of Nolensville Girls Cotillion, President of NHS Best Buddies, Chair of Community Outreach for NHS Young Ambassadors, and a Student Council member. Through these roles, Joy creates opportunities for connection, service, and growth among her peers. She leads NGC’s 150 members in supporting The Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital as the organization’s 2026-2027 philanthropy while building partnerships and inspiring others to make a lasting impact.

LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS IN JULY On July 18th, the Nolensville Lions Club partnered with Nolensville First UMC Kids to host a “Christmas in July” event. The morning began with a pancake breakfast from 8:00 to 10:30 AM, featuring holiday music, festive decorations, and a visit from Santa Claus and his elf, Clarisse, who greeted guests and posed for photos with families. Following breakfast, Santa met individually with children and their families to hear their Christmas wishes. Proceeds from the event benefited The Arc–Williamson County and Best Buddies, supporting children and families with special needs in the community.

resented during the Tennessee Municipal League's 86th Annual Conference in Kingsport, this prestigious statewide award recognizes the Nolensville Police Department's commitment to innovative policing, community engagement, officer training, traffic safety, fiscal responsibility, and building strong relationships with the community. This achievement reflects the dedication of every member of the Nolensville Police Department. From patrol officers and detectives to supervisors, professional staff, reserve officers, chaplains, and our public safety partners, each playing an essential role in making Nolensville one of the safest communities in Tennessee.

The Tennessee Municipal League

specifically recognized several initiatives, that included: • Specialized officer training and leadership development • The Autism and Special Needs Engagement Program • The Blue Envelope Program for drivers with autism and sensory sensitivities • Traffic safety and e-bike education initiatives • The strategic use of grant funding to enhance services while minimizing costs to taxpayers Above all, this recognition reflects the strong partnership between the Police Department and the Nolensville community. Building Skills, Safety, and Community

One Bicycle at a Time by Chief Dale Armour, Nolensville Police Department

s part of the Nolensville Police Department’s continuing commitment to community engagement and bicycle safety, Officer Josh Guin is spearheading a new youth bicycle program that builds upon the department’s current e-bike education and enforcement strategy. Officer Guin routinely patrols Nolensville’s greenways and trails and has been instrumental in our efforts to promote the safe and responsible use of e-bikes. A strong advocate for children’s safety and community involvement, he has developed an especially positive rapport with the young people who ride bicycles throughout our community. It is not unusual to see him playing basketball

with young riders or taking time to share water, snacks, and conversation with them. His newest initiative is a bicycle rodeo designed for children who are still riding traditional pedal bicycles. Using cones, signs, and specially designed obstacle courses, Officer Guin gives participants an opportunity to have fun while learning important safety skills. Children are taught how to control their bicycles, safely navigate intersections and traffic, understand the rules of the road, and become more aware of their surroundings—all in an enjoyable and encouraging environment. We believe this program will further strengthen the relationship between

our police department and the community, particularly with younger riders who may eventually progress from bicycles to e-bikes and, later, to motor vehicles. By teaching safe habits early, we hope to develop more knowledgeable, responsible, and confident roadway users. Officer Guin has additional ideas for future community events, and the Nolensville Police Department is proud to support his continued outreach. As a Nolensville resident, along with his family, Josh is deeply connected to the community he serves. His efforts reflect how law enforcement, families, and young people can work together to make Nolensville an even safer and stronger community.
