A Season of Gratitude

First, let’s take a moment to applaud and express our heartfelt appreciation for all our Veterans. This month, we proudly celebrated them with our annual breakfast and parade—a small gesture of gratitude for their unwavering dedication and service to our freedom.

As the holiday season quickly approaches, I encourage you to pause and look around our beautiful town. We are truly blessed to live in such a supportive and vibrant community. From our local school events and historic district shops to our small businesses, wonderful eateries, and welcoming churches, it doesn’t take much to feel just how special Nolensville is.

This Thanksgiving, take time to reflect on the many blessings in your life. Let the people around you know how much they mean to you, and look for ways to lift up neighbors who may need a helping hand.

We deeply value your input and welcome your recommendations for businesses, schools, non-profit organizations, or individuals who deserve recognition. This is your magazine, and we want to highlight stories and topics that matter to you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with your ideas or feedback.

As Nolensville Town Life continues its journey to share meaningful and engaging stories, we also extend our sincere gratitude to our advertisers for their continued commitment to this community. I encourage you to visit and support them—they help make this publication possible.

Let’s continue to look for the good in people, find ways to serve one another, and keep making Nolensville the most wonderful place to live. I hope to see you around town!

“Thanksgiving is a time to give, a time to love, and a time to reflect on the things that matter most in life.” — Danielle Duckery

Psalm 136:1 — “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

Sincerely,

Tim Beard

Sometimes life’s best surprises come when you least expect them. For Kathy Whisenant, the owner of Elevated by Indigo Cottage Boutique, a simple shopping trip turned into something extraordinary. “I hadn’t planned to purchase the boutique,” Kathy says with a laugh. “I went in one day to buy a pair of earrings and when I learned the shop was for sale, I knew God had placed me there for a reason. I loved the boutique and the staff, so I left that day with the earrings and an idea—a few weeks later, I had the

whole shop, and the absolute best ladies to run it with me!” Since then, she and her dedicated team have continued to pour their hearts into creating a welcoming, fun shopping experience. “The staff is what makes our boutique special,” she says. “We genuinely care about our customers. It’s laid back and friendly—you can make yourself at home, hang out with friends, and enjoy a little retail therapy.”

After nearly seven years in the Nolensville Town Center, the boutique made a big move to its new home inside the NolenSpot office building. Though the non-traditional setting was a bold choice, it allowed the shop to stay local and continue serving customers with minimal downtime. “It was definitely out of the box, but it has worked beautifully,” she explains. “The new space gave us the opportunity to refresh our look and expand our services in ways Nolensville hasn’t seen before.”

Now reimagined as Elevated by Indigo Cottage Boutique, the store offers a wide range of fashion, gifts, and selfcare products—along with new services like color analysis, personal styling, and wardrobe consultations. “Our tagline, ‘Positively You,’ reflects the uplifting experience we want every customer to have,” she says. “We want women to feel confident, inspired, and truly themselves.” The boutique also features many local and regional makers, including Thistle Farms, Cross The Line Jewelry, and Sweet Tea Candles. This season’s favorites include suede jackets, Judy Blue jeans, Tennessee tees, and an expanded line of clean skincare and beauty products.

Community support remains at the heart of their mission. “Every sale helps support local charities, schools, and nonprofits,” she says. “Giving back is what drives us.” Looking ahead, the boutique plans to host monthly workshops, pop-up vendors, and special themed events. For the holidays, customers can look forward to the VIP Appreciation Event on Nov. 24 and the Holiday Sip & Shop on Dec. 1, both from 4–7 pm, and free concierge shopping with extended pick up hours from 7am -7pm on weekdays; just call the shop at 615.956.4344.

With its unique vibe, community spirit, and uplifting mission, Elevated by Indigo Cottage Boutique continues to brighten Nolensville from their new home in NolenSpot!

Nolensville High School Bowling Team Nolensville High School Bowling Team

How is this year’s Nolensville bowling team shaping up compared to last season? The teams are doing well. This year we have scheduled twice as many matches as last year. On top of that we play every district opponent twice this year instead of just once . We are currently in second place, losing only to Siegel High School so far. We will see them again and hope to come home with a victory in that grudge match.

Is there any standout returning players who you expect to be key leaders this year? We strive to have all player step up and be leaders and since we have the luxury of having many returning players the leadership on our team is top notch from all bowlers.

What kind of impact have the new incoming players made so far? The bowlers that are new to our team this year have stepped right in and if you had never been to one of our matches you would not be able to tell who the new bowlers are. Some are filling important roles on our Varsity teams and other are continuing to grow on our Junior Varsity team.

Varsity teams. When setting our line ups we are very careful to make sure our newer bowlers are paired with some of veteran bowlers to ensure that they are being mentored by their peers as they grow to be a regular member of our varsity teams.

Are there any upcoming matches or tournaments that you’re particularly excited about? We are very excited about the Living on a Spare Tournament on November 8 at Smyrna Bowling Center, The TSSAA individual tournament on December 1 at Bowling World in Cookeville, TN and the District, Regional, and State Tournament in December and January.

What specific goals has the team set for this season — both individually and collectively? Both teams have set the goal of making it back to the TSSAA State Tournament and to do this they have set a goal of bowling as much as they can both with the school teams and on leagues throughout the week. The coaches and I have worked extremely hard to schedule some opponents that make regular appearances in the state tournament during the regular season so that we can grow as a team.

How do you approach blending new talent with your more experienced bowlers? We take advantage of being able to freely move our bowlers between the JV and

What do you feel is the biggest strength of this year’s team? The biggest strength of our team is that very word - TEAM. We try very hard to make everything we do be team centered and not just about one or two bowlers. When one player struggles the others are not critical and instead jump in to give advice to help them improve.

How would you describe the overall team chemistry and morale so far? The team chemistry is really strong. We are very excited about the rest of the season and what we can accomplish both individually and as a team.

What would you like the Nolensville community to know about this group of student-athletes and their dedication to the sport? This group of young people are some of the most dedicated athletes that I have ever coached. Their desire to improve their individual craft is like nothing I have ever witnessed. They want to make the Nolensville community proud of them and I think they are doing a fantastic job of this, If you have not been to a match, reach out to any of the bowlers or Coach Jay and they can tell you when they play. Be sure to wear to favorite NHS swag and cheer loud!

A Brewery That’s More Than Just Beer

Serving Nolensville One Pint at a Time

When six friends in Nolensville heard that their favorite local brew pub was in danger of closing its doors back in 2019, they did what any beer-loving, community-minded circle of friends would do: they bought the place. Founded in 2014, Mill Creek Brewing Company stands as a testament to the love of craft beer and the resilience of a community. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, this family-friendly brewery spent the last decade creating lasting memories for its patrons with “Less fuss. More Beer.” Whether you’re born and raised in Nolensville, new to the community, or just passing through, Mill Creek Brewing Company delivers not only fantastic brews and food but also provides the perfect place where friends and families to gather and enjoy life.

The Community’s Gathering Place

At the beating heart of Mill Creek Brewing Company lies their commitment to the Nolensville community. As the unofficial “living room of the town,” the brewery prides itself on being an inclusive destination where everyone feels welcome. With a spacious 27,500 sq. ft. facility, the brewery is designed for gatherings, whether it’s a casual afternoon with friends, a special event, or even a game day celebration.

More than just a great place for food and drinks, Mill Creek Brewing Company serves as a hub of entertainment and leisure. For sports enthusiasts, TVs and bigscreen projectors line the walls where you can catch all the action while cheering on your favorite team. For those who appreciate a little friendly competition, one of the brewery’s most popular attractions is their indoor golf simulator, which can be rented out. Mill Creek Brewing Company also features entertaining events throughout the week, including live music, typically on Fridays and Saturdays, and Thursday Night Trivia. Outside, visitors will find a peaceful, pet-friendly beer garden, allowing guests to enjoy their dr inks while basking in the sun on a pleasant Tennessee afternoon.

A convenient green area provides some breathing room to stretch your legs. Making it a point to support the community that supports them, Mill Creek Brewing Company participates in a number of local causes. For starters, they sponsor local youth groups, including

Nolensville’s state championship-winning Little League team. In addition, they’re proud sponsors of Retrieving Independence, a local non-profit dedicated to training and placing service dogs with those with disabilities. Now, in its fifth year, the brewery is also hosting KP’s Toy Drive, an charitable event that will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, for the benefit of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

Offering Something for Everyone

Of course, you can never mention Mill Creek Brewing Company without their impressive lineup of beers and seltzers, all of which are intentionally crafted to be approachable and quaffable. Their motto – “Less fuss. More beer.” – encapsulates the brewery's philosophy of offering high-quality beers without the pretentiousness often found in many craft breweries. Their offerings cater to a diverse set of tastes, making it easy for visitors to find something they love. From their classic Lil Darlin witbier to their hoppy, citrusy Juicy Daze hazy IPA, each beer is brewed with pride and attention to detail. For those looking for something a little lighter, guests can partake of their refreshing, low-calorie line of seltzers or their signature cider. For the more adventurous beer drinkers, the brewery often rolls out seasonal beers, including their Oktoberfest, Pumpkin Cream Ale, and Mama’s Trouble, a luscious coffee oatmeal stout brewed in collaboration with Mama’s Java Cafe.

Complementing its impressive beer selection, Mill Creek Brewing Company’s clever indoor food truck ensures no one ever leaves hungry. A standout item on the menu is their award-winning Smashville Burger, a musttry for carnivores. This tantalizing creation pairs perfectly with the brewery's Cajun french fries and a palate-cleansing light lager. The in-house smoked buffalo wings are another crowd-pleaser,

available in eight mouthwatering flavors that range from mild to spicy preferences, all pairing wonderfully with a hoppy IPA. With a dedicated kid’s menu and plenty of non-alcoholic beverages, everyone— both young and old—leaves happy and well-fed.

https://millcreekbrewingco.com

If you’re seeking a place that blends great beer, delicious food, and a vibrant community atmosphere, look no further than Mill Creek Brewing Company. With its wide-ranging appeal, it’s the perfect venue for families, friends, and even furry companions. Whether you’re there to catch a game, enjoy live music, or simply unwind with a cold one, Mill Creek Brewing Company awaits you with open arms and a freshly poured pint Cheers!

Full Recovery and Restoration — Restoring Homes, Health, and Peace of Mind

With nearly three decades of experience, Full Recovery and Restoration has become a trusted name across Middle Tennessee for property recovery and crawl space solutions. Whether addressing water damage, mold, or foundation moisture issues, their certified team combines expertise and compassion to restore not only homes but also peace of mind.

Founded by Camille Therrien, Full Recovery and Restoration began as a small operation dedicated to helping homeowners recover from water damage. Over the years, it has grown into a full-service restoration company serving both residential and commercial clients throughout the region. Recently, Robert Varzino joined the company as a partner, bringing additional leadership and expertise to support its continued growth. Camille built the business on a simple mission — to bring professionalism, efficiency, and empathy to an industry where stress often runs high. His commitment to quality service and genuine care has helped the company earn the trust of countless homeowners and business owners.

Today, the company specializes in complete property recovery, including water damage mitigation, microbial remediation, crawl space encapsulation, structural repair, and air quality improvement. Every project begins with a detailed assessment to identify the root cause of damage, ensuring long-lasting results rather than quick fixes. “We’re not just a cleanup company — we’re problem solvers,” says Camille. “Every home tells a story, and it’s our job to help write a better next chapter.”

That mindset is what truly sets Full Recovery and Restoration apart. Each technician is IICRC-certified in water damage restoration, microbial remediation, and structural drying — the industry’s gold standard. Paired with decades of field experience, their training ensures every job meets the highest

standards of care. The team’s approach blends technical precision with compassionate communication, helping clients navigate what can often be a very stressful situation.

One recent project highlights their expertise and care. A local family faced severe water intrusion and microbial growth in their crawl space. The Full Recovery team removed all damaged materials, treated the affected areas, installed a 12-mil vapor barrier, sealed vents, and added a dehumidifier and sump pump. The result was a clean, dry, healthy crawl space — and homeowners who could finally breathe easy again.

Full Recovery and Restoration offer 24/7 emergency response, often arriving within hours to prevent further damage and begin recovery. Robert also shares simple advice for homeowners: “If you experience water intrusion, turn off electricity in affected areas, stop the source, if possible, move valuables, and call a professional quickly. Regularly inspecting gutters and crawl spaces can prevent future issues.”

As Camille puts it best, “We’re not just restoring homes — we’re restoring peace of mind.”

RISK FACTORS INCLUDE:

• Smoking

You must call in the month of November to schedule and pay for your low-dose CT screening. Schedule: November 1-30

This examination is not to be considered a substitute for a clinical examination by a physician. A low-dose CT scan is intended only to be a screening test for lung cancer, and the results of this examination should be taken into careful consideration by the patient’s own physician in the context of other factors such as relevant history, physical examination and other indicated or related investigations.
