THE TOWN OF NOLENSVILLE HONORS
OFFICER OF THE YEAR JOSH GUIN
January 8 at the Board of Commissioners meeting, we were proud to honor Officer Josh Guin as the Nolensville Police Department’s Officer of the Year.
This year’s nominations were highly competitive, with several officers receiving multiple nominations—something that speaks volumes about the professionalism and dedication of our entire department.
Officer Guin was genuinely surprised by the recognition, and we were fortunate to make the moment even more special by quietly welcoming his family into the room to witness the presentation.
Following the award, Officer Guin continued serving the community by addressing the Board on e-bike safety and regulations, once again demonstrating his professionalism and commitment.
Please join us in congratulating Officer Josh Guin on this welldeserved honor.

THE TOWN OF NOLENSVILLE HONORS
FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR
STACIE REAP
Stacie has served with us since February 2021 and was hired full time in January of 2023 and was just promoted to Engineer in December of 2025.
She has been very proactive in progressing her career with training and various aspects of the fire service. She has expressed her interest in taking part in the fire prevention division as she has achieved her state fire inspector license and pursuing her fire investigator from the state.
She took on our length of service award program which takes some tracking and effort to ensure we can provide some reward for our volunteers that serve over 5 years. Stacie also received numerous nominations from her peers.

Channell Sealants

Sherry J.
“Channell Sealants did an outstanding job sealing our driveway, sidewalks and front porch. Every part of the aggregate concrete was covered very well. Even used a paint brush to get against the garage doors without marking the doors. Driveway has a steep slant so not easy. All of it looks so much better. Very glad we hired them for this project.”
John S.
“Job - clean and seal aggregate driveway. Quick estimate, thorough explanation of job scope, and did exactly what he committed to. Looks great! Would recommend.”

David H.
“They did an outstanding job and I highly recommend them. What sets Channell Sealants apart from others?
They thoroughly pressure wash so no stains or blemishes get sealed into the surface.
They completely fill all joints with crack filler, which looks great and helps prevent water from penetrating and freezing, which can expand the cracks.
They use a high-quality sealer that is much better than the typical big box store products.
Their cleanup is very thorough.
They did such a great job the last time that we didn’t even consider trusting anyone else this time. The sealant has held up well for the past two years. Give them a call—you won’t be disappointed.”

Nolensville Food Pantry is a Vital Community Resource

In the heart of Nolensville, the Nolensville Food Pantry continues to serve as a vital resource for families facing difficult seasons. Guided by its mission, “to support and love families in the greater Nolensville area by providing food and household or personal goods to those who need it because of what Christ has done for us,” the pantry meets both physical and emotional needs with compassion and care.
Each year, the summer months bring an increased demand for assistance. With children out of school, many families lose access to free breakfast and lunch programs, placing added strain on household budgets. At the same time, kids are home more often and need additional meals and snacks throughout the day. To meet this need, the pantry works to provide extra food, especially convenient snack items that children can grab quickly between activities.
As the community heads into summer, some

of the most needed items include breakfast bars, protein snacks, fruit snacks, fresh fruits like apples and oranges, chips, and other grab-and-go options. Easy meal solutions such as Hamburger Helper, rice sides, canned vegetables, and fruit are also in high demand. In addition, the pantry consistently needs personal care and household items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and laundry and dish detergent.
Community support plays a critical role in keeping the pantry stocked and ready to serve. Individuals, churches, and local businesses can help by taking advantage of grocery store deals—such as buy-one-getone or multi-item discounts—and donating extra items. Hosting food drives and becoming a monthly donor are also impactful ways to contribute, allowing the pantry to better plan and meet ongoing needs.
Volunteers are especially important during the summer, when regular schedules shift
and additional help is needed. While the pantry relies on more than 40 weekly volunteers, there are still many opportunities for others to step in, including students completing Tennessee Promise service hours.
Behind every visit to the pantry is a story— families navigating job loss, health challenges, divorce, or unexpected life changes. From grandparents raising grandchildren to parents working to rebuild stability, each situation is unique. As the pantry looks ahead, it remains committed to preparing for the unknown, supported by a generous community that continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of neighbors in need.

The Hometown Team: NashCo Furniture Brings Comfort, Community, and Pride to Nolensville
by Craig Hewitt | photography by Cassidy Jo Photography
When Anthony and Jaclyn Moore first opened the doors to NashCo Furniture’s new Nolensville Design Center, their goal wasn’t just to sell furniture; it was to improve the lives of the residents of Nolensville.
“Our mission is to be a community partner offering quality goods at great values that elevate our customers’ lifestyles,” Anthony said. “We want to elevate comfort, style, and even health, because a good night’s sleep or a space you truly love can change how you live every day.”

This philosophy is interwoven into every detail of NashCo’s newest showroom, located in the heart of Nolensville at 930 Oldham Drive. Though the Moores have built a loyal following across Middle Tennessee with their Nashville and Columbia

locations, the Nolensville Design Center marks the latest step in their journey.
“We opened the Nolensville showroom to give our customers the opportunity to curate their own style and get something they really love,” Anthony said. “The lines we offer here are more designer-driven and offer more customization, whether it’s fabric, leather, cushion comfort, or configuration.”
Jaclyn, whose background in sales and love for design gives their stores a signature blend of comfort and chic. She has helped make this location what Anthony affectionately calls their “pretty store.” Together, the couple combines aesthetic vision with practical expertise to create a showroom that “feels like home,” filled with pieces that are stylish, functional, and built to last.
A Showroom That Feels Like Home
When you step inside the Nolensville Design Center, you immediately feel the difference. Plush sectionals invite you to lounge and imagine them in your own living room. Dining sets inspire thoughts of family gatherings, while performance fabrics and solid wood craftsmanship showcase quality that’s made for real life.
“Our goal is for customers to feel as comfortable in our showroom as they are in their own living room,” Anthony said. “We want them to see quality and style, and then feel the comfort when they sit down and relax. Our team is always available to help, but we also give customers the space to find what works for them.”
At NashCo Furniture, they understand that buying furniture is no small decision. “It’s typically one of the top three largest purchases you’ll make, right behind a home and a car,” Anthony says. “We want each purchase to bring fulfillment in more ways than one.”
Comfort is key. Finding that perfect sofa to curl up on or a mattress that lets you truly reset after a long day can make a world of difference, but it is also a point of personal pride. Furniture reflects your taste and personality; it’s an expression of who you are.
“We want our customers to be proud of their purchase,” emphasizes Anthony. “We want our customers to be excited to show

their friends their new couch or brag about how great they’re sleeping on their new mattress.”
Giving Back to the Community
For the Moores, business and community are deeply intertwined. When NashCo rebranded in 2017, Anthony made a conscious shift from “profit center” to “community partner.” Since then, the company has donated over 300 mattresses to local veterans, youth, and families in need.
“While a sofa or mattress may feel like a necessity, for some, it’s an unattainable luxury,” Anthony said. “We’ve been blessed by the support of our community, so our goal is to give back using the vehicle we have — furniture and mattresses — to make a real impact.”

veterans transition out of homelessness. “Coming from a family of service members, that relationship means the world to me,” Anthony said.
Moores can often be found cheering at local ballfields, gymnasiums, or studios.
Ultimately, NashCo’s expansion to Nolensville was as much a personal decision as it was a business decision for the Moores. “Being able to help friends and neighbors furnish their homes and knowing those pieces will be part of their family memories. That’s been incredibly rewarding,” Anthony said.

Much of this giving is done through partnerships with organizations like Operation Stand Down, which helps
Anthony and Jaclyn have called Nolensville home since 2017, treasuring the town’s thriving community and small-town feel where they raise their son and daughter. When they’re not in the showroom, the

An Interview With Flag Football Coach, Timothy VanWormer
by Tim Beard | photography by Designed Identities
How is this year’s team shaping up compared to last season? What stands out about this group in terms of chemistry, leadership, and overall potential?
We lost a lot of very talented seniors who were very close as a class. We are very young this year, but we have a group of seniors who are great mentors to them. We have a very difficult schedule this season, so our team is going to face adversity early on and so far they have continued to fight and get better.
Who are a few players fans should keep an eye on this season? Are there returning leaders or emerging young players who could make a big impact?
Caden Joseph and Kailee Divley are returners who we expect to make a lot of plays. Ava Dominique and Avery Bea are freshmen this year who will make a big impact.
What are the biggest strengths of this year’s squad? What style of play do you expect this team to have on the field?
The strength of our girls team this year is they love playing the game. The rules keep changing each year, so trying to finalize the strategy is an ongoing process. We would like to play fast and be able to throw the ball around a bit this season.
What challenges will this team need to overcome to be successful? Are there areas where the team will need to grow as the season progresses?
We will have to be able to overcome our inexperience. We are playing some of the top teams in Tennessee early on and Williamson County teams are some of the best in the state. So we will have to learn to trust the process and do the little things and overcome the early frustrations.
What are your expectations and goals for this season? How do you define success for this group both on and off the field? My expectation is to get better every day and have fun. I would define success as that we want the girls to feel valued, supported, and gain confidence. We want to grow athletically, academically, and as individuals. If we can do those things, then we were successful.
What makes Nolensville Flag Football special? How does the support from the school and community impact your program and players?
The Nolensville girls love the game and are very competitive. There are more opportunities for girls in this area to get better. The Nolensville community does a great job in making sure that opportunities are provided.

An Interview With NHS Tennis Coach, Brian Bass
How is this year’s team shaping up compared to last season? What stands out about this group in terms of chemistry, leadership, and overall potential?
This year's Nolensville High Tennis team is coming off its best season in school history last spring. Both teams are looking to replace a lot of production from the last year's senior class but are still going to be in the mix toward the top of the district standings. This team has developed a strong bond off the court. With off-season workouts and senior-lead team hit-arounds, the team now trains more year round than ever before. There is a wide mix of all four grades contributing, from freshman to seniors, but they have all come together to help pull in the same direction.
Who are a few players fans should keep an eye on this season? Are there returning leaders or emerging young players who could make a big impact?
Fans should keep an eye on the seniors this year. On the girls side, Eisley Alderman will be playing the number one singles spot. She is a great athlete who plays full court tennis and loves to come to the net. She will play doubles alongside her sister, Gray, a junior and number three singles
player on the ladder. On the boys side, the lineup is anchored by its seniors. Matthew McCarter, Max Tant, Tiger Madayam, and Andrew Truong are all seniors who make up the majority of this year's lineups. These seniors are all excellent athletes who cover the court well and will look to push Brentwood and Ravenwood for a shot at the district title.
What are the biggest strengths of this year’s squad? What style of play or identity do you expect this team to have on the future?
Our biggest strengths will be our consistency and dogged competitiveness. This team has really leaned into the most important statistic in the game of tennis: that nine out of every ten points ends on an error. This team has really developed its ability to have patience during points and make their opponents work. I expect this competitive and patient play style to be the calling card of NHS tennis in the future.
What challenges will this team need to overcome to be successful? Are there areas where the team will need to grow as the season progresses?
The team will have to overcome the loss
of its talented senior class of 2025. I have seen the class of 2026 pick up the torch where those guys left off last year to try to keep the level of NHS tennis continuing to grow. The big dog in the district has always been, and continues to be, the Brentwood Bruins. This NHS squad has leaned into the challenge that another strong Brentwood team presents and looks forward to making them work to repeat as district champs!
What are your expectations and goals for this season? How do you define success for this group both on and off the court?
I think success this year will be a top 3 finish on for both boys and girls in the district. Brentwood is obviously very talented, but Ravenwood, Page, Independence, and even a much improved Summit and Centennial programs mean that the district has no cake walks. I believe if this team can continue to believe in one another, we could find ourselves playing in a district title come late april.
Make sure to catch NHS tennis teams at one of their home matches this spring.
The courts are located behind the school building between the football and baseball fields.
Go Knights!

On The Pitch With NHS Head Soccer Coach, Eric Shelton
This year’s team is comparable to the team we fielded in 2025 in many ways. We have a good group of core senior leaders that are guiding us through the season complimented by a group of underclassmen that are getting their feet wet at the varsity level.
We have a couple of players that are shining on the field for us this year. Brandon Ham is a senior central mid that glides through defenders and sets up many of our attacking sequences. JD Kuhlman is settling in at a new position as center back
by
in our defensive line. He is a great athlete with a competitive drive that keeps our team on the front foot. Caden Pharr is a dependable defender that has added an attacking element to his game.
We are working to become a resilient team that manages the highs and lows of the game. We play in the most difficult district in the state. Our motto is “respect all, fear none”. If we believe in ourselves, know our responsibilities, and finish our opportunities we can play with any team in the state.
We continue to work to earn the respect of our community and are striving to create an atmosphere and product that the community will come to support on a regular basis. All of our summer camps are well attended and we would love to have those young players out to see a match and experience the high school game.

by Lynn Williams

ABOUT THE EXPERTS:
Calab Doores, Affordable Landscape & Lighting
Known for reliable service and quality work since 2010, Affordable Landscape & Lighting provides lawn care, drainage solutions, lighting, and property improvements throughout the community.

Pro Tips For A Healthier Lawn
Sonnie Potts, Potts Lawn Care
Serving Nolensville since 2010, Potts Lawn Care offers full-service lawn maintenance, landscaping, and outdoor living solutions to help homeowners enhance and maintain their properties.
• Water deeply, not frequently • Keep mower blades sharp • Cut grass at the proper height • Stay ahead of weeds • Remove leaves and debris regularly
Keeping a beautiful lawn in Middle Tennessee comes with its own set of challenges—but the right approach can make all the difference. We spoke with two local professionals, Sonnie Potts of Potts Lawn Care and Calab Doores of Affordable Landscape & Lighting, to share expert insight on maintaining healthy lawns and creating outdoor spaces homeowners love.
What sparked your passion for lawn care?
Sonnie Potts, Potts Lawn Care: “My passion started with enjoying the outdoors and seeing the transformation that comes from improving a property. Turning an ordinary space into something beautiful and functional is incredibly rewarding.”
Calab Doores, Affordable Landscape & Lighting: “I’ve always appreciated the difference a well-maintained property can make. That passion grew into a business focused on helping homeowners take pride in their outdoor spaces.
What challenges do homeowners face in our area?
Potts: “Clay soil, drainage issues, and hot summers can make lawn care difficult. We also see thin turf and poor long-term planning in landscaping.”
Doores: “We deal with aggressive weeds, changing weather, and tough soil conditions. Seasonal transitions can also be hard on grass and plants.”
What can homeowners do between lawncare visits?
Potts: “Keep mower blades sharp, water deeply but less often,
and maintain proper mowing height. Clearing debris also helps lawns stay healthy.”
Doores: “Water early in the morning, cut grass at the right height, and stay ahead of weeds. Consistent care makes a big difference.”
What trends are you seeing right now?
Potts: “Outdoor living spaces are huge—patios, fire pits, and lighting that extend how people use their homes.”
Doores: “Homeowners want functional, low-maintenance spaces with lighting, entertainment areas, and clean landscape design.”
What services do you offer that people may not know about?
Potts: “Beyond lawn care, we design and install landscapes, patios, retaining walls, fire pits, and lighting.”
Doores: “We provide drainage solutions, landscape lighting, seasonal cleanups, and full property improvement services.”
What do you enjoy most about serving this community?
Potts: “Building relationships and helping homeowners take pride in their property is the most rewarding part.”
Doores: “Seeing the transformation of a property and earning customers’ trust year after year means everything to us.”

An Interview With NHS Track Coach, Kyle Manderfield
by Tim Beard | photography by Designed Identities
How many years have you coached at Nolensville High?
This is my 4th year as the head track coach of Nolensville High School boys and girls teams.
What are your expectations of the 2025 Team?
I'm hoping for good team chemistry, I'm hoping athletes step out of their comfort zone and try new events. I'm hoping the experienced athletes will mentor the younger ones.
Who are your key Seniors?
Claire Stegall, obviously. Shes a state record holder in multiple events. Audrey
Pennartz and Mackenzie Bates will be relied on heavily in sprints and hurdle events. Bryce Russell and Jack Glisson-Schlitt will also contribute to scoring in a big way.
Top players to watch?
You should also keep your eye on Brandon Brooks. He is a nationally ranked triple jumper and has been a key member of our community and off season programs. What should fans know about this year's team?
This years team has been great! They love each other, they have fun with each other,
they compete hard for one another. I've coached long enough to know these are the kind of kids that I want to work with.
Also anything else you want to say about this year's team?
Track meets last forever. If you're around at the very end of meet, you'll find yourself surrounded by Nolensville athletes and parents. I think that speaks to our community as a whole, and the culture our kids have built.
