Our programme aims to develop children's 'Skills for Life'. It helps them grow into confident adults, that understand and enjoy the importance of leading healthy active lifestyles.
At your first class, you will have experienced a fraction of the potential that Tumble Tots has to offer your child in the future.
Today’s equipment is only a small part of the apparatus and the layout is changed every two weeks (six weeks for 6 MonthsWalking).
This gives us the opportunity to concentrate on different skills and to intensify the challenges as the children develop within the programme.

Age Groups:
6 Months - Walking
Walking - 2 Years
2 - 3 Years
3 Years - School Age
Gymbobs (School Age - 7 Years)
The basic philosophy is to ‘build selfconfidence’ through the development of the child’s physical learning. This is achieved by focusing on four important areas:
General motor skills
Social awareness
Self assurance
Self discipline
They gain this through:
A structured development programme
Ongoing challenges
A fun and happy atmosphere
Well trained and enthusiastic staff
A safe environment

When your child receives their membership pack, encourage them to wear their t-shirt in classes to feel part of the club!
Before you leave and in the case of severe weather conditions, please check your text messages, emails, our website or Facebook page for closures.
Please dress children in suitable clothing to allow for better movement and avoid jewellery, dummies or any clothing that can catch on the equipment or cause injury.
Barefoot is best (and safest) for children as this helps with their development. Grownups can wear shoes if they aren’t high heels or heavy boots as these can hurt small fingers or toes.
Please take your child to the toilet before classes begin to save interruption (this is especially important for the over 3’s classes).
If you need to bring a sibling along to class, please be aware that they are unable to participate or play on the equipment as they will not be covered by insurance. We recommend bringing something to occupy them such as a book or colouring.
Make sure you arrive in plenty of time and register your child at the desk.
Parents are fully responsible for their children in the under 3’s classes. We ask that you work directly with your child, encouraging and assisting where necessary. Support your child by holding the back of their T-Shirt so their hands are free for climbing and to aid balance.
In the over 3’s classes, grown-ups are not actively involved but must always remain on the premises.
Children are asked not to eat or drink on the equipment but if they need refreshments, you are welcome to take them to the waiting area.
Please do not take any photographs or videos during the classes and refrain from using mobile phones so your child has your full attention.
Do not let children onto the equipment before or after classes. Please move to the waiting area so we can set-up safely for the next class.

Our progressive play programme is designed to develop your child’s physical skills. Using bespoke colourful equipment, we focus on agility, balance, climbing and co-ordination, which enhances brain development and builds confidence.
Every session is supervised by our amazing specially trained staff, getting the best out of each child. Up until 3 years, grown-ups participate as well so that parents, carers and even grandparents can spend time with little ones as they develop.
The journey begins for babies from 6 months old who can sit up unaided. Here’s how our classes break down:
Babies explore the equipment in a happy and relaxed environment. This enhances their brain development and helps them to reach key milestones such as crawling, cruising and walking, taking them onto the next class.
Confidently walking toddlers are now introduced to an exciting circuit of equipment as well as hand held co-ordination activities, developing their fine motor skills. ‘Circle Time’ helps language development through rhymes and action songs.

Working together in small groups, little ones are introduced to stations with more challenging equipment to refine their agility, balance and climbing skills. Following instructions and learning to take turns develops their listening and social skills, as well as confidence.

Children now take part independently without their grownup, putting into practice their skills for life. Our staff challenge each child individually to their full potential, preparing them for school, physically, socially and mentally.

Gymbobs is the pinnacle class of Tumble Tots, bringing together everything children have learnt so far! Using challenging equipment setups, relay races, team games and warm-up exercises, Gymbobs is a perfect addition to a child’s school P.E. provision.
*For the 3 Years – School Age and Gymbobs (School Age – 7 Years) classes, parents must remain on site.

The biggest benefit of coming to Tumble Tots is the individual impact on children!
Each child will learn and take away something different that is unique to their personal development needs whether it be physical proficiencies, social skills, cognitive capacities or simply confidence.

These ‘Skills for Life’ will benefit them in other aspects outside the class, at home, when they go to school and in the future, giving them the best start in life.
The physical activities in our programme support early years body and brain development!
Thirty minutes of “Tummy time” each day is essential for infants as lifting their heads helps to strengthen the neck and upper back muscles

developmental milestones such as crawling, rolling over, and sitting up independently ready to start Tumble Tots.
Practising agility, balance and climbing in our classes improves children’s core strength which is the foundation of a healthy body and gives them a better posture, improved concentration and more energy and builds the gross motor skills needed to take part in activities.

Core strength combined with co-ordination activities improves fine motor skills, supporting children’s ability to manipulate objects (such as pens for writing) which is later linked to early literacy, according to the EYFS.
Each class is tailored to suit the age and specific stage of a child’s development meaning that your little one will attend sessions with children of the same age and with similar capabilities:
6 Months – Walking Walking – 2 Years
2 – 3 Years 3 Years – School Age Gymbobs (School Age – 7 Years)

As children move up through the programme, they will develop and refine their skills further, learn new proficiencies and gain more confidence in their abilities.
Interacting with other children also helps develop their social skills and creates friendships, which leads to improved mental capacity and cognitive abilities, as well as good overall mental health.
Our equipment was specially designed for preschool children by the original founder and still represents his objectives!

Each individual piece aids a different aspect of children’s physical development in agility, balance, climbing and co-ordination. We use bright colours to help make classes fun and promote early identification of colours which is an important part of a child’s development.
All the wooden and foam apparatus is handmade in the UK to a high standard and unique to Tumble Tots, so can’t be found in other activity classes and helps support British businesses.
Children learn best when they feel safe and secure which is why all our staff are fully trained!
We always have one member of staff to every six children so they can work closely with each child to build relationships and bring out the best in them.
Building relationships over time is important for children’s learning, personal, social, and emotional development as well as overall wellbeing, and therefore future success.
Time flies when you’re having fun, but the past 40 years has given us a wealth of knowledge and experience in child development!
Physical activity has always been and will always be an important part of every stage of life, no matter if you’re 4 months, 4 years, or 4 decades, but seeing a second generation of Tumble Tots whose parents attended when they were younger shows how well we have stood the test of time and how well thought of our classes are.

We work closely with early years experts in line with new and relevant research to maintain our reputation as the best physical play activity and ensure that our programme continues to provide children with the best start in life.
By taking part in fun classes like Tumble Tots, children develop a positive association with exercise at an early age!
This will encourage them to take part in other activities, sports, and exercise as they grow up, not only keeping them physically healthy but also supporting their emotional health.
Regular exercise helps to lower the risk of developing many long-term conditions and can boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality, and energy levels, increasing mental health.
Our classes are designed with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) standards in mind!
Our activities incorporate elements from the seven key areas that the EYFS has outlined as important to ensure that children learn and develop to their full potential:
Communication and language
Physical development
Personal, social, and emotional development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the world
Expressive arts and design

These give children the broad range of knowledge and skills needed to prepare them for education and future progress through life.

By attending classes, you are not only supporting our franchisees, but also their teams and the venues they operate in!
All our franchisees are self-employed and create new jobs in the community by hiring staff, most of which are parents who need flexible roles to work around their families.
Many of the venues that franchisees hire for classes are charities and the money they raise through hiring is used to maintain and improve the buildings which host local events, youth clubs, entertainment, and many other activities which the whole community benefits from.
Tumble Tots is not only fun for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers, but for grownups too!
Grownups actively take part in sessions, until little ones reach the 3 Years – School Age class, to help with their child’s development alongside staff.
Attending classes together each week gives parents the opportunity to spend precious quality time with their little one strengthening their bond and making life-long memories.

The power of play and nutritious mealtimes by best selling baby and cookery author Annabel Karmel, in partnership with Tumble Tots

As parents, we all want our little ones to grow into confident, curious, and independent eaters and movers. But did you know that how your toddler plays can impact how they eat, and vice versa?
That’s why I’m so excited to team up with Tumble Tots, the UK's leading physical play programme for children, to bring you a guide on how to use movement and mealtimes to build those all-important life skills - from balance and coordination to self-feeding and decision making.
Whether you're juggling mealtimes or chasing after a newly mobile toddler (or both!), we’ve got some practical tips, fun recipes, and expert insights into how play and food go hand-in-hand when it comes to nurturing independence.
Before little ones can confidently bring a spoon or piece of food to their mouth, they need to master the physical skills that underpin eating - think balance, posture, hand-to-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
That’s where Tumble Tots comes in! Through age-appropriate activities and classes, children develop:
Core strength for sitting at the table
Hand-to-eye coordination for picking up food and cutlery
Grip and control for holding cups, spoons and finger foods
Focus and confidence for trying new things
All of these skills don’t just help at the table, they build lifelong habits for health, independence, and self-esteem.
Encouraging your toddler to feed themselves can be messy, but it’s also hugely empowering. Here are a few tips to get started:
1. Practice that pincer grip
Soft, bite-sized pieces of food encourage toddlers to use their pincer grip (thumb and forefinger), a key fine motor skill. Think:
Soft fruit slices (banana, ripe pear, kiwi)
Cooked vegetable sticks (carrot, sweet potato, broccoli florets)
Mini sandwiches, muffins, fritters or croquettes
Top tip! Picking up small items mimics the same hand control needed for climbing and balancebased play, so they are developing those muscles all day long!
2. Offer choice without overwhelming Giving toddlers two options (e.g. strawberries or blueberries) encourages autonomy without confusion.
3. Embrace the mess
Messy mealtimes are part of learning. Place a splash mat under the high chair, offer pre-loaded spoons and… keep calm. Remember, practice makes perfect!

Here are a few home-friendly games that support the same skills toddlers use during mealtimes:
1. Scoop & transfer
Give your child a spoon and two bowls - one with dried pasta or pom-poms, the other empty. Have them transfer the contents from one to the other.
Supports: Hand control, concentration, coordination.
2. Balance bean bag
Place a bean bag (or soft toy) on your child’s head and see if they can walk from one end of the room to the other.
Supports: Core stability, posture - essential for sitting upright at the table.
3. Stack & snack
Before snack time, encourage your toddler to stack soft blocks or cups. This warms up their fine motor muscles before they sit down to eat.
Attending structured physical play classes offers benefits beyond the obvious.
Routine & structure
Mealtimes and play become part of a consistent rhythm, which toddlers thrive on.

Peer modelling
Seeing others use cutlery or climb equipment gives children the confidence to try themselves.
Holistic development
The combination of movement, social interaction, and skill-building feeds directly into mealtime milestones like using a fork or trying new textures. Top tip! Try syncing a physical activity session before lunch or dinner – toddlers often eat better after they've moved their bodies!
Every child develops at their own pace, but with the right encouragement, through food and fun, they’ll surprise you with what they can do.
So whether you’re cheering them on as they climb a wooden ladder at Tumble Tots or smiling through a chaotic but determined self-fed lunch, remember, you’re not just raising a toddler. You’re raising a resilient, capable, and confident little person!

This October, families across the country joined us to celebrate National Children’s Activity Week with our exciting theme: Safari Adventure!
Children were sponsored to dress up as their favourite animals or explorers and take on seven imaginative jungle challenges as part of this year’s Tumblethon, raising vital funds for Tommy’s, the pregnancy and baby charity.
From standing tall like giraffes and balancing across marshy paths, to sliding like snakes and hanging like cheeky monkeys, our Tumble Tots set off on a true safari adventure. They explored, and discovered the joy of movement, while helping to make a real difference.
Supporting Tommy’s: A Charity Close to Our Hearts
Tommy’s funds pioneering research into miscarriage, stillbirth, and premature birth, and provides expert care and support for families affected by baby loss.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our Tumble Tots families, we’re thrilled to share that together we raised over £131,000 with Gift Aid boosting the total even further!

This incredible achievement will help Tommy’s continue its vital work supporting women and families at high risk of pregnancy complications and funding research that saves babies’ lives.
At Tumble Tots, we believe every child deserves the chance to explore, learn and grow through active play. Our activity classes are designed to help little ones develop essential physical skills, from climbing and balancing to jumping and rolling.
Using our bright and specially designed equipment, children develop skills for life.
Early activity supports not just physical health but also brain development. That’s why Tumble Tots offers classes for children aged six months to seven years, carefully tailored to each stage of
growth. Every session helps children build friendships, improve coordination and grow in confidence, giving them the very best start in life.
Across the country, children and parents threw themselves into the safari adventure with enthusiasm and imagination. It was wonderful to see our intrepid explorers tackling each challenge with such excitement and pride.
We couldn’t be prouder or more grateful to everyone who took part in our amazing fundraising efforts. Together, you’ve made this year’s Tumblethon a huge success and helped to make a real difference for families supported by Tommy’s.

Catherine Bynre worked in retail before becoming a franchisee...
"I took time off after having my two children then worked for Tumble Tots as a part time member of staff in the midlands before moving to Cheltenham in 2006 where I also worked part time as a Tumble Tots trainer. When the opportunity to buy the business came up I had no hesitation in going for it as I knew that this was a reputable Franchise with a proven record of training and support."

For over 50 years, Orchard Toys has been delighting families with games, jigsaws, and colouring books that bring play and learning together. Known for their bright, durable pieces and carefully thought out designs, Orchard Toys products are made with little hands (and busy parents!) in mind.
Whether it’s building memory skills, boosting early literacy, or simply giggling over a silly picture, Orchard Toys creates moments that matter. Let’s take a look at some of their best-selling games and jigsaws that continue to win the hearts of children, parents and educators alike!

A true classic, Shopping List has been a firm family favourite for decades. Children race to fill their trolley with everyday grocery items, from bread to bananas, learning about memory and matching along the way. The simple concept makes

it perfect for first-time board game players, while the familiar theme of shopping sparks imaginative conversations. It’s also a great way to introduce little ones to turn-taking, a skill that can be tricky but rewarding to master!
For younger players, Farmyard Heads and Tails is the perfect introduction to matching games. With chunky cards featuring friendly farm animals, toddlers have fun piecing together cows, pigs, and sheep (or mixing them up for some laughout-loud creations!). Not only does this game encourage matching skills and observation, but it also help develops early vocabulary as children name the animals and the sounds they make.

Early literacy can feel like a big step, but Match and Spell makes it fun and stress-free. Designed with preschoolers in mind, this best-selling game uses letter tiles and word cards to help children recognise letters and build simple words. Parents love how the game can be adapted for different abilities: younger children can match letters, while older players can try spelling independently. It’s a gentle, playful way to nurture a love of reading!

Few things capture children's imaginations quite like unicorns, and Unicorn Fun adds a sprinkle of magic to playtime! Take your pick from this fantastic selection of three unicorn-themed games in one box. Help the unicorns get to the part in an exciting board game, or turn the board over for a game of unicorn-themed snakes and ladders. Players can also use the unicorn boards as a mix and match activity and unleash their creativity with different outfit combinations!

Traditional board games never go out of style, and My First Snakes and Ladders gives a family favourite the Orchard Toys treatment. Featuring an extra large game board and chunky playing pieces that are perfect for little hands, this award-winning game is the perfect introduction to board games! It offers the perfect balance between learning and fun and helps to develop counting and gameplay skills.

Bingo games are always a hit, and Little Bug Bingo offers a charming twist. Featuring bugs and beetles, this compact game is perfect for taking on the go, ideal for holidays, car journeys or playdates! It encourages observational skills and turn-taking, while introducing children to the wonderful world of mini-beasts. The chunky, wipe-clean cards make it practical as well as fun!

Orchard Toys are also loved for their educational jigsaws. Big Dinosaurs is one of the most popular, featuring bold illustrations of T-Rex, Stegosaurus and Triceratops. With 50 pieces, it’s a satisfying challenge for children aged 4+, encouraging concentration, hand-eye coordination and problem solving. Once complete, it doubles as a learning tool, as it includes a talk about guide full of fun dino facts as well as a poster!
What sets Orchard Toys apart is their unique blend of fun, education and quality. Every game, jigsaw and colouring book is made using durable, recycled board and paper, and tested for safety. Their products are also teacher-tested and approved, giving parents confidence that children are learning while they play.
From toddlers taking their first steps into games, to older children building vocabulary or problem-solving skills, Orchard Toys offers something for every stage of development. Discover the full range of Orchard Toys games and jigsaws at orchardtoys.com or your
