Until the 1952 General Convention, Brodicr James H. Morton had been considered the seventh "Jewel". At that convention, General President Maceo Smith assembled aspecial group, which consisted of the living "Jewels", Brother Charles H. Wesley, the Fraternity Historian, and Brother Eugene Kinckle Jones, for the purpose of revising the history of the Fraternity. It was decided that Brother Eugene Kinckle Jones should replace "Jewel" James H. Morton. Brother Jones was a member of tlic first committees on Organization, Constitution and Pins, President of Alpha Chapter and maker of Beta and Gamma Chapters. For further details, consult your history book, the chapter on the 1952 General Convention and the Spring 1994 Edition of the Sphinx Magazine.
