Let us review these themes:

Membership Reclamation- Under the leadership of Sam Thornton, the Membership Committee has posted at least a 30% increase in membership. In 1992, our membership, as estimated by the General Organization was approximately 117; in 1994, we are close to the 150 mark. What is amazing, given the acceleration of Omega services, however, is that this Administration successfully brought anew generation of Alphas into leadership. When you attend the monthly meetings, average attendance is between 85 -100 mem¬ bers. What was once stereotyped as old chapter is now being touted

Message, from page 1 as achapter that is well-rounded with adiverse multi“generational setting. This is what Alpha is all about! We learn from each other by taking the positive experiences of the most Seasoned Alphas and using them to transform and develop new and innova¬ tive programs. Thus, we have been very successful in our reclama¬ tion process.

Other efforts in reclamation have seen the production of abrochure outlining the chapter sprograms, officers, and contact numbers.

Most recently, the chapter has installed aChapter Hotline tele¬ phone number- (703) 764-2223. HA Callis Fund- The Fimd has been our major vehicle for schol¬ arship contributions. As reported last month, the Fund has recent¬ ly elected anew President, and we are expecting greater things. There has been this misconception that our Spring Dance would

The following Brothers were elected during balloting at the April chapter meeting: Brothers, Ladies Ready for Annual Spring Dance major fimd raiser for scholarships. As many of you serve as a know, however, these dances are usually not amajor fund raiser activity. In that light, our 1995 Dance event will be the 1st Annual Alpha Be^^utillion, which should provide necessary funds for f«holarsbip ai:<i community service activities. In addition, we will con¬ tinue to host the Evening of Classics, program, which will also bring in contributions. What is most important, however, is that must realize that serious scholarship giving means aserious

Let 8face the facts, Brothers should feel compelled to develop the endowmert of the HA Csdlis Fund of at least $100,000, through either cash or similar donations, or estate giving. Dances, dinners, souvenir books, et. al. are fun and derive revenue; however, the membership may have to think more globally and yes, fanatically, about, contributing to the Fimd outright. This should be voluntary your heart dictates. Another prominent chapter in the Eastern Region has developed the 100 Club which is comprised of those Alpha members who donate $100 to the scholarship fund each year.
