SEASON’S GREETINGS! We trust that you had amost enjoyable holiday season and that you are looking forward to afruitful new fraternal year. As we embark upon the year 1996, we re ect over the accomplishments of the past year, which have given us the incentive to do bigger and better things in tlie coming year. We are ever mindful of progress, as Alpha is always determined to make forward steps.
The First Annual Beautillion was asuccess and plans are being made for the Second Annual Beautillion, which will surpass the spectacular and
resplendent Gala of last year. Furthermore, we are committed to awarding more scholarships to deserving African American males. We are looking
forward to interacting more this year via song fests, smokers, bowling parties and other informal gatherings. New on the Mu Lambda scene is the First Annual Golf Tournament
which will provide even more scholarships and opportunities for the youth. Our mentoring program with the Van Ness Elementary School promises to be more effective this year and we will make every effort to support and further develop all of the Fraternity’s national programs. Our Leadership Development Institute is, by far, the most exemplary in the nation. Moreover, we hope to interact more with other area chapters and the Pan Hellenic Council. Mu Lambda was well represented during the Million Man March, and many brothers were members of the planning

The Founders’ Day Luncheon proved to be more exciting than we had anticipated. Brothers are still talking about the outstanding message delivered by Brother Joshua I. Smith, President &CEO of the Maxima
Corporation, one the nation’s most outstanding African American-owned business enterprises. We were inspired and encouraged to create our own power base and ceiling, so that we may control our destiny. Entrepreneurship, he emphasized, is the key to our future. Bro. Smith was introduced by the Honorable Brother Marion Barry, Jr., Mayor of the District of Columbia, who added another dimension to the program. Brother Frederick J. Laney and his committee are to be commended for planning, such an outstanding program, a tting tribute to our founding
