FOUNDERS DAY EDITION

Alpha Phi Alpha has not always been the great Fraterniw it is today. Its Founders, however, were always great men, possessed of keen vision, undaunted courage, indomitable fortitude, and unparalleled tenacity. These ingredients: Character, Hard and untiring work -Have today produced what is regarded as aliving and driving force in fraternal life.

From the beginning, the “Jewels” of Alpha Phi Alpha, unknowingly, had set the scope which guides the Fraternity to this day. The personality^, versatility, and outlook of the “Jewels” themselves, helped set the pace for the current versatile scope of the Fraternity^ Alpha men have always been leaders in their respective vocations. Scores upon scores of Alpha men have made history in virtually every field of human endeavor.

To commemorate the founding of die Fraternity, a scholarship for outstanding high school males was established at Cornell University. The Alpha Award of Honor was presented to Brother Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in recognidon for his undaunted efforts for equality and justice.
