Each year, MUHS graduates return to campus for our young alumni college fair, sharing insights and advice with juniors and seniors preparing for their future. They reflect fondly on their high school experience — classes, retreats, service projects, brotherhood — and describe feeling significantly more prepared for college than their peers. In fact, 93% of surveyed graduates reported feeling much more ready for college coursework than their classmates. This is a hallmark of a Catholic, Jesuit education. At MUHS, that shows up in academic growth, college acceptances, merit scholarships, and dual credit and AP coursework. More broadly, it’s reflected in our alumni’s success in college, their careers, their communities, and their families. The Arts
We believe the arts are essential to a well-rounded education. Marquette High alumni have included musicians, artists, actors, directors, conductors, composers, a Tony winner, an Oscar winner, Grammy winners, and even a late-night talk show host. No matter what your background, MUHS Fine Arts offers a range of courses and extracurricular activities to foster creativity, critical thinking and self-expression. Our graduates are prepared to make a positive impact in their communities, using their gifts and talents to contribute to a more just and compassionate world.

Hilltopper Athletics Our coaches and student-athletes are dedicated to pushing themselves to be their best, both on and off the field. And it shows! The Hilltopper ethic goes deep – and focuses on developing the whole person. That’s evident in students participating in a sport, providing ample opportunities for student participation. At least one no-cut sport is offered in each sport season and two freshman teams are fielded in multiple sports. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, you’ll find a supportive and competitive environment at Marquette University High School. Our programs foster a culture of leadership, sportsmanship, and school spirit, helping our students develop valuable skills that extend far beyond their playing days. Roll Top!
Sports for every ability We offer sports including cross country, football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, swimming and diving, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, tennis and track and field. In addition, there are club sports available in rugby, bowling, climbing, powerlifting, weight lifting, sailing, and trap, along with intramurals in a variety of sports.
Humanities Drawing on the Ignatian worldview and the Catholic intellectual tradition, our English, theology, history and world language classes invite young men to encounter the full range of the human experience, and then ask what they will do with what they’ve learned. Every MUHS student completes four years of English and four years of theology, along with coursework in world and U.S. history and sustained study of a world language. Along the way they are asked not only what they know, but what they believe, who they will become, and how they will serve. Through reading, reflection, discussion, and service, our students practice the outward-facing love that St. Ignatius believed was the purpose of any real education.
Humanities at Marquette High teaches our students how to thoughtfully engage in the world. Students dig a trench to prepare an aqueduct for clean water as part of a service immersion trip to the Dominican Republic.
Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math
We fuel students’ curiosity no matter what area most interests them in science, technology, engineering, and math. Our Science Olympiad team has won four consecutive state championships and achieved major success on the national stage. Our Hilltopper Robotics team designs, builds, and competes with robots, honing skills in programming, engineering, and problemsolving. Hands-on field trips measuring river water quality is just one of the many opportunities that fuel students’ passion for STEM fields. Expert faculty include teachers like awardwinning science teacher Mr. Joe Meyer, who has experience teaching in national parks. Along with AP math courses, the school’s Math Club competes in events throughout the year, and last year finished in the top 14 nationally after earning first place in Wisconsin in the Catholic Math League.

Faith is more than theology classes – it’s the foundation for our entire community. We believe a strong compass is essential for shaping young men into well-rounded leaders. Regular Liturgies and service opportunities solidify the connection between faith and action. Marquette High’s Campus Ministry offers a wealth of programs to nurture each young man’s faith journey, from all faith backgrounds: • Retreats that provide opportunities for reflection and connection • Immersion trips that put faith into action from Milwaukee to the Dominican Republic • 130 service hours completed by each student over four years • 75% of the student body is Catholic, and all students are able to grow in their faith through four years of theology classes
