The HPAIR Sustainability Impact Summit (HSIS) 2026 is a three-day sustainability and policy-making challenge for high school students, hosted by MU20 School of Opportunity in partnership with the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR).

At HSIS, participants take on the role of young innovators, analysts, and changemakers, addressing global sustainability concerns through research, design thinking, and policy formulation. Across SDG-aligned

tracks, they explore real-world challenges, build data-driven policy frameworks, and propose practical pathways for measurable impact.

The summit blends academic rigor with experiential learning, featuring structured deliberations, expert guidance, and specialized sessions led by students from Harvard University. Through this, HSIS cultivates a generation of leaders capable of turning ideas into action.

IMPACT CHALLENGE

At the HPAIR Sustainability Impact Summit 2026, participants will take on the roles of policymakers, sustainability strategists, and innovators. Rather than engaging in theoretical discussions, they will research, design, and advocate for actionable, data-informed policy solutions that address pressing global sustainability challenges.

PHASE 01 : Pre-Conference (Virtual)

Goal: Develop a Research-Backed Problem Statement

• Teams select a region or country linked to their SDG.

• Draft a problem statement supported by real-world evidence.

• Submissions are reviewed for uniqueness, feasibility, and relevance.

• Finalized problem statements are shared across all teams in the track.

EXPOSITION ROUND

Four competitive rounds take place over 3 days

• 5-minute team presentation + Q&A.

• Covers issue, region, impact, and urgency.

• Peer voting selects the top 4–6 problem statements.

CAMPAIGN ROUND

• Eliminated teams merge with selected teams to form coalitions.

• Coalitions create awareness campaigns (video, theatre, visual storytelling, etc.)

• Aim: Build support and visibility for their

The summit welcomes high school students from Grades 9 to 12, offering them a unique platform to collaborate with peers from across India and abroad. Participants engage in policy-driven discussions, sustainability simulations, and culturally immersive experiences that foster leadership & global awareness.
