The Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health is the first academic department co-developed and co-governed in partnership with the communities it serves. This collaborative approach enhances both our academic success and real-world impact, with more than $186 million in external funding to date. This novel approach, which is making a profound impact on the health of Flintstones, Michiganders, and Americans across the nation, is a testament to our commitment to community partnership and real-world changes prioritized by our matriarchs, patriarchs, and youth. Based at the College of Human Medicine’s Flint location, we address urgent public health issues that are priorities for Flint and are nationally applicable.
