(Thesis Project)

The cruise terminal project will come up near the Vedanta berth and will be having a draft of at least 6.5 meters to 8.5 meters to accommodate cruise ships varying from 50,000 gross tonnage to 1 lakh GT or Panamax size. The berth will be about 330 mt long with a beam of 28 to 36 mt and will have sufficient space to accommodate cruise liners carrying around 2,000 to 2,500 passengers.

The waterfront of the cruise terminal has been always a place of mixed-used developments like outlets, stalls, retails, entertainment, aquariums, and the other attractive spaces at the waterfront and integrated into the urban fabric.

PROPOSED INTEGRATED TOWNSHIP AT PANJOOPUR, ALIGARH

Ramgarh Panjoopur is a Village in Jawan Sikanderpur Block in Aligarh District of Uttar Pradesh State, India. It belongs to Aligarh Division . It is located 5 KM towards North from District headquarters Aligarh, 13 KM from Jawan Sikanderpur, and 362 KM from State capital Lucknow. Ramgarh Panjoopur Pin code is 202001 and postal head office is Aligarh.

The proposed self-sustaining township aims to attract new investors while fostering a harmonious blend of industry, ecology, and urban living. Industries are strategically placed on the south-eastern periphery, aligned with prevailing winds, and supported by nearby affordable housing for workers. Eco-parks and urban farming address waste management and promote macroscale greening. Urban planning focuses on preventing urban canyons, optimizing wind capture, and reducing the carbon footprint through sustainable practices like renewable energy, recycling, and organic food production. These initiatives enhance property value, improve community wellness, and strengthen the local economy by providing jobs and affordable housing, creating a thriving, environmentally conscious urban ecosystem.

PROPOSAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SIR SYED NAGAR,ALIGARH

Sir Syed Nagar, located on the northeast side of Aligarh City, is in close proximity to Aligarh Muslim University, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, and the main market of Amir Nisha. Originally developed as a residential area for AMU professors and employees, the locality has experienced rapid urbanization, resulting in a lack of planning, irregular street patterns, and an unstructured road hierarchy.

DEVELOPMENT OF E-BUS NETWORK IN ALIGARH

This study aims to review the performance of existing E-bus services in Aligarh and propose a customer-oriented public transport network that is simple, sustainable, reliable, efficient, safe, and attractive. It focuses on optimizing available resources to design a well-connected E-bus network, addressing gaps by analyzing the current system and Bus Service Planning guidelines, and enhancing ridership through improved connectivity, expanded catchment areas, and greater customer satisfaction.

CONCLUSION

By taking the corrective actions, the existing resources has been optimized. Saved 7 out of 25 E-buses.

Saved 1428 km (26%) of the total exisitng scheduled km (5500 km).

With the optimized existing resources two potential routes has been proposed i.e. AL-03 (Amrauli to Railway Station) and AL-05 (Jawan to Agra Road).

Coverage area of the Public Transportation would be doubled from existing 26% to proposed 52%.

There will be an increase of average 1500 passengers/Day in the existing ridership (5764 passengers/Day) by proposing two new routes.

With the increase in revenue from 65,000/day to 87,500/day Increase in revenue WOULD BE 22,500/day, WHICH WILL reduce government subsidy by 25%.

E-BUS NETWORK DEVELOPMENT

RECOMMENDATION

Optimize the existing resources to improving bus performance, increase in coverage area and customer satisfaction.

Police enforcement is required at all narrow congested road sections and intersections.

A comprehensive integrated public transport plan is required for Aligarh city which is financially and operationally sustainable.

To hire a consultant to carry out public transport feasibility study or to develop a travel demand model for Aligarh city.

To hire a consultant to carry out feasibility study to plan and design a bus priority lanes in most congested area of the city.

To hire a consultant to develop public transport planning and design guidelines.

To introduce intelligent transport systems to plan, design and operate bus services as a part of Aligarh smart city.

There is a urgent need to develop and introduce different set of tools and methods to improve transport information for the transport users.

There is a need to carry out the feasibility study on bus fare system.

Impact of Industrial Growth on Urban Development: A Case of

Lakri Fazalpur Road, Moradabad

This research aims to comprehensively analyze the impact of industrial growth on urban development in Lakri Fazalpur, Moradabad, by examining the area’s industrial development within the framework of India’s industrial policy, identifying associated challenges, and assessing the effects of industrial expansion on urbanization. Furthermore, it seeks to propose strategies and measures for fostering integrated and sustainable industrial development in the region.

Conclusion

Industrial growth in Moradabad, driven by the brassware and metal industries, has led to rapid urban expansion and economic growth.

Urban challenges include overcrowding, inadequate housing, traffic congestion, and unplanned settlements due to the influx of workers.

Environmental degradation, including air and water pollution, poses risks to public health and ecological balance.

Socio-economic disparities exist, with affluent areas benefiting more from amenities, while low-income populations face inadequate housing and informal settlements. Weak governance, poor urban planning, and lax enforcement of regulations have worsened these problems.

Solutions require a comprehensive urban master plan, infrastructure upgrades, sustainable environmental strategies, affordable housing promotion, and public-private partnerships. Proposed dumping sites with advanced waste management are essential for balancing economic growth and environmental protection.

Moradabad’s future depends on integrating industrial growth with sustainable planning, environmental conservation, and socio-economic equity.
