Even though I have little and lack much, my life becomes abundant when I share with those in need.
When I try to fill my life to the brim, I feel an even greater sense of insufficiency, and life becomes empty.
Sharing and happiness coexist. The more we give and share, the higher our happiness index rises.
In 2024, with rising inflation, I believe many members may face temporary economic challenges. However, it is during difficult times that we see an increase for love and sharing towards to the underprivileged, hungry children in impoverished corners of the world.
At GCF board meeting held in June this year, we decided to allocate $700,000 in support for 53 sponsorship sites in 2025. Additionally, each branch is directly reaching out to serve and assist local children in need over $100,000.
For the past 26 years, GCF has consistently engaged in fundraising focusing helping the small and the most vulnerable children with mothers love. Iโm grateful for members who shines and illuminates the lives of others in need.

We currently live in a time where revolutionary advancements like artificial intelligence, robotaxis, and autonomous vehicles progress at an astonishing speed, whilst being seamlessly integrated into our daily lives. However, though these innovations evoke excitement for the convenience and transformation they bring to our world, it seems natural that we simultaneously feel subtle apprehension regarding the new challenges this new era may pose. It is true, nonetheless, that these technological breakthroughs enrich our lives and pave the way toward a brighter future.
Amidst this era of optimism and innovation, however, countless children around the globe are still enduring the daunting reality of lacking even the most fundamental necessities โ such as food. The members of the Global Children Foundation have, once again, risen to the occasion this year with their unwavering commitment and boundless generosity, to bring hope to these children. I believe that it was through your compassion and dedication that we were able to extend dreams and hope to a greater number of children this year. I would like to take this time to extend my heartfelt gratitude for these efforts.
While viewing the group photograph from the APEC-G20 Summit in Brazil from this past November, I couldnโt help but be struck by the banner bearing the words โGlobal Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty.โ These words were a reminder of how our modest efforts, in amalgamation with international initiatives, had catalyzed profound and transformative change in the world. This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to our membersโ continuous dedication and tireless endeavors, all of which I am deeply appreciative and proud of. Furthermore, the 26th Annual General Meeting held in Japan was an extraordinary occasion that underscored the passion and solidarity of our foundation once more. I witnessed over 200 members overcome considerable distances and circumstances to attend this event, and the meticulous organization and hospitality of the Japan chapter ensured the eventโs success. Iโd like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone whose efforts culminated in this exceptional accomplishment.
Serving as the President of GCF for the past two years has been a deeply inspiring journey. I have been and continue to be deeply moved by the deep dedication of our members and the excellent leadership of our executive team. As my time as President draws to a close, I am humbled and honored to continue supporting the foundationโs mission as a member of the board. Starting from the coming year, Ms. Jane Kim, the Eastern Regional President, will be assuming the role of President. I am hopeful that GCF will reach even greater heights under her leadership.

Hello, everyone. My name is Jane Kim and I will humbly be serving as your next president from 2025 to 2026. Around 10 years ago, I was first introduced to GCF when I attended a festival with a member of my church. At this event, while explaining to me the work that the organization does, she was moved to literal tears. She explained just how full her heart was, and how she felt immense honor and gratitude for being able to partake in a global organization through which so many hungry children were able to find comfort and care. In turn, I found myself growing with curiosity and admiration at the work she spoke so passionately about. Soon after, I joined GCF.
If you look closely at pictures taken by GCF members on prior mission trips, you can clearly make out children walking aimlessly without any shoes on. In other pictures, you can see hungry children eating cakes made of mud. It was because of pictures such as these and the stories surrounding them that soon after joining GCF, I found my mind and heart filled with nothing but these children and what we could do to lift them from their suffering.
Author Kim Hong Shik said "if you starve, you will know that food is king. If you thirst and tire, you will know that water is life." And that is why GCF must exist and flourish in its efforts to answer this calling. For 26 years, the members of GCF have worked tirelessly to do just that and have made it our mission to provide not only that king-like food and life-like water but also, essential hope and light to otherwise destitute and forgotten children everywhere.
Lee Sun Hwa leader of GCF Michigan spoke at our recent conference in Japan and said that the closest thing to heaven's will on earth is the sharing of kindness. And that the place where all the beautiful people who take this to heart are gathered is GCF.
Now everyone, I am lacking but with all your prayers and support, I will lead GCF on this new chapter. I will strive to be a leader who puts service of the mission and our members at the forefront of everything that I do.
I wish that everyone of you finish off the year with feelings of thanksgiving, fulfillment and a sense of accomplishment at all the work that has been done in 2024; and that we meet the new year with anticipation at all the new dreams and plans waiting to be explored.

The Navajo Nation, a self-governing territory within the United States, spans an area equivalent to two-thirds the size of South Korea. Despite its vast expanse, it is a barren desert region where not even a blade of grass grows. With inadequate access to water, electricity, and sewage systems, the community faces extreme poverty, high unemployment rates, widespread alcohol and drug addiction, and alarmingly high youth suicide ratesโso much so that it has been referred to as โthe most hopeless land within America.โ The Navajo Nation has declared these challenges a national crisis. In the midst of this despair, two missionaries have been planting seeds of hope through prayer and education, working tirelessly to bring about change. Thanks to the steadfast support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), children here are now able to eat well, study freely, and dream of a brighter future. The weekly Saturday meal and tutoring programs are not only helping children grow healthier and more optimistic but are also inspiring them to envision better lives ahead of them. Alongside providing nourishment for their bodies, the educational initiatives are significantly improving academic performance while positively impacting the broader Navajo community. Our Childrenโs Camp, suspended for five years due to COVID-19, was finally held again, marking a momentous occasion. Despite numerous challenges, the camp was successfully completed with the generous financial support of the GCF. In this underdeveloped region of Turkey, often resistant to the Gospel, the camp provided a profound opportunity for children to grow steadfastly in their faith and move forward as disciples of Jesus, bringing immense joy and encouragement to all involved. Meanwhile, Timothy Childrenโs Association continues its care ministry for Turkish diaspora children (Muslims) living in extreme poverty in Eastern Europe, specifically Romania. Most of these children have been excluded from public education due to their parentsโ lack of awareness, perpetuating cycles of ignorance and poverty. For these children, GCF's support has served as great hope. Thanks to GCFโs contributions, weekly Saturday care meetings now provide snacks and meals for the children. Additionally, as the new school year began, we were able to provide school bags and supplies to 30 low-income children and teens. This assistance not only equips them for learning but also plants the seeds for brighter futures.
Haiti is enduring severe turmoil due to gang violence, with gangs controlling 90% of the capital. Although the capitalโs airport reopened after being closed for over three months, commercial flights remain unavailable. Approximately 70% of schools and most hospitals have shut down, leaving the lives of local residents mired in suffering under constant threats from the gangs. This year alone, 400,000 people have been displaced, and over 5,000 have been killed or kidnapped. Public security has long collapsed, and while international police forces are awaited, there is no sign of improvement. Following the withdrawal of most NGOs during the COVID-19 pandemic, Haiti faces a dire food crisis, with half of the population suffering from malnutrition. Orphanages, in particular, are struggling to secure food supplies amidst this worsening situation. Amidst this desperate reality, the support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF) has been a source of strength and hope for orphans who are facing the greatest challenges. Thanks to GCFโs assistance, children have been able to receive basic food supplies to sustain their lives, serving as a glimmer of hope in the midst of their pain.
Unrest in Haiti has led to the evacuation of all foreign embassies, including the U.S. Embassy, as well as missionaries and businesspeople, leaving the country designated as a no-travel zone. Among those forced to leave was a Korean organization that had been running a school in the Tourgeau area of Port-au-Prince, near the cityโs garbage dump. Their departure left 145 children, who had been receiving education and meals, abandoned without any alternatives, forcing them back to scavenging through trash piles and begging on the streets. Our organization chose not to turn a blind eye in this situation. Despite the challenging environment, we resumed educational activities, provided food, and began instilling a renewed sense of hope for these children, even though it was late in the school year. The school, now operating from a temporary structure, has sustained severe damage and requires extensive repairs. Yet, we see this challenge as a blessing from the Lord.
Mexico is gradually finding stability following the elections, yet many young people continue to grapple with significant challenges stemming from widespread crime and social issues. In the face of these hardships, our after-school program remains a beacon of hope, offering unwavering support to all communities. We provide care and compassion to children from migrant families and local indigenous communities alike, embracing each child with love and dedication. We are committed to educating the children to prevent them from being exposed to or involved in criminal activities, while also actively sharing relevant information with their parents. Each child is precious, and thus we continue to pray for them, observe them closely, and care for them attentively. All of this work has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF). Every Monday, volunteers come together to care for the children with love, combining play and educational activities while sharing delicious meals. As a result, we have witnessed the children grow brighter and much more cheerful. Seeing these children flourish fills our hearts with profound gratitude toward GCFโs sponsors. The enduring love of these supporters, many from a generation that may have experienced hunger themselves, now reaches across borders to embrace the children of this distant land. We pray that these children will one day come to understand and cherish the warm hearts of the mothers who so selflessly support them.
When we first arrived in the remote village of San Antonio Sodzil, home to Mayan Indian descendants, the community was plagued by severe economic and educational hardships. Most children lived without hope, malnourished, and lagging behind both physically and mentally. Over 90% of the children saw no future beyond middle school due to a lack of transportation and resources necessary to pursue high school education. Early teenage pregnancies were common, with many young girls becoming mothers. Today, thanks to the unwavering love and support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), hope has emerged. The partnership with GCF has enabled us to expand our family services, introducing after-school programs, counseling, medical services, and mentoring. We firmly believe that God has blessed this collaboration between GCF and our ministry, bringing about miraculous changes in San Antonio Sodzil. The transformations in this village are nothing short of remarkable. Through the love of Jesus Christ and the support of GCF, San Antonio Sodzil has gone from a community without a single college student to one where over 80% of high school graduates are now pursuing professional degrees. Ultimately, they will play a vital role in bringing hope and change to those in need.
Armenia continues to face severe food shortages due to ongoing border conflicts with Azerbaijan. While families can manage some self-sufficiency during the summer through their vegetable gardens, many struggle to afford even basic eating staples like bread.
Here, we visit an average of five families each week, delivering essential items such as flour and bread to their homes. Additionally,
Mongolia, historically known as Outer Mongolia, is a landlocked country in north-central Asia. It experiences a distinct continental climate, characterized by long, cold winters and short, cool-to-hot summers. The country boasts diverse landscapes, including upland steppes, semi-deserts, and deserts, alongside forested high mountain ranges and lake-dotted basins in the west and north. Mongolia is home to a population of approximately 3.5 million. In 1991, the Mongolian government established bilateral relations with the Holy See, leading to the Vatican sending missionaries to Mongolia in 1992 to initiate a Catholic mission. In 2001, the Salesians arrived in Mongolia at the invitation of the local Bishop in Ulaanbaatar to establish a high technical school for young people. By 2024, the Don Bosco Day Care Center was in operation, serving children from grades 1 to 5. Its primary goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where children can complete their homework with the help of professional teachers, as well as rest and play with their peers. However, the center faces challenges due to tuition fees, limiting access for many children from low-income families. Despite subsidies, many families still struggle to afford the cost. To address this, the center seeks additional donors to help sustain its mission, maintain healthy facilities, and provide nutritious meals for the children. The generosity of GCF donations has already enabled the center to reach more children, offering them a brighter future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Global Children Foundation (GCF) for its warm compassion and support for Syrian and Iraqi refugee children. Despite ongoing challenges such as inflation, regional conflicts, and the hardships of life as refugees, GCF's dedication to protecting children's rights to
safety and education continues to sustain their hope. Refugee parents are increasingly recognizing the importance of education and are actively participating in their children's learning journeys. The children, too, are discovering the joy and necessity of education. Although limitations prevent us from reaching more children, we are doing our utmost to provide as many as possible with educational opportunities. In response to the growing demand for support, we are preparing to open a new refugee school to help those who currently lack access to education. This effort reflects our commitment to extending educational opportunities to even more children in need.
In May 2022, the Sudan Refugee School in Egypt began as a small after-school program for about 20 students. At the time, it operated in a modest rented space. However, the situation changed drastically in April 2023 when the civil war in Sudan reignited. The conflict caused an additional 500,000 Sudanese refugees to flee to Egypt, bringing the total number of Sudanese refugees in the country to an estimated 4 to 5 million. Amid these challenging circumstances, the Sudan Refugee School has grown to accommodate about 80 students. Among them, 35 are under the age of 10, and 45 are teenagers. All of these children are learning English and nurturing their dreams at the school. Thanks to kind teachers, supportive friends, and gifts and food boxes provided through the support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), the students genuinely enjoy coming to school. The weekly provision of bread, juice, and sandwiches has become a cherished part of their daily lives. Particularly significant was the installation of air conditioning at the school, made possible through GCFโs support, which has greatly alleviated the challenges of studying in Egyptโs intense heat. GCFโs assistance also enabled the purchase of much-needed desks and chairs during the schoolโs relocation.
Nguyen, who has cerebral palsy, has faced significant challenges in receiving the care and rehabilitation therapy he needs. His parents, busy with demanding jobs at a factory, struggled to provide adequate support for him. Although a local daycare center opened in 2021, they were unable to enroll Nguyen due to financial and time constraints. As a result, Nguyen spent much of his time alone at home, missing out on vital rehabilitation therapy and the opportunity to interact socially with peers. Thanks to the generous support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), the daycare center in this central Vietnam region has become a safe haven for children like Nguyen, providing them with nutritious snacks and creating positive changes in their lives. This support has greatly eased the burden on Nguyen's parents while offering him a safe and stimulating environment in which to grow. Today, Nguyen enjoys personalized rehabilitation therapy and engaging activities at the daycare center with the help of dedicated therapists and medical staff. Through therapeutic exercises and social interactions with peers, his motor skills have improved significantly, and his confidence has grown noticeably. The continued support of GCF has brought new hope and brighter futures to children with disabilities and their families in central Vietnam.
This year, the El Niรฑo phenomenon has brought extreme heat and drought across Southeast Asia. Here in Cambodia, rice fields have cracked, lakes have dried up, and even the trees are withering under these harsh conditions. At school, each classroom runs three fans to provide some relief from the heat, but watching teachers and students drenched in sweat makes us wish we could do more to improve their environment. Despite these challenges, we are grateful to see students enjoying their lunch breaks. A particularly proud moment came last year when all of our high school graduates passed their final exams, earning our school recognition as one of the top schools in the region. Additionally, the students recently achieved great results in a local soccer tournament, highlighting their hard work and growth. Even in these difficult circumstances, it brings immense happiness to see the students thriving and sharing positive news. I firmly believe that all of this has been made possible through the generous support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF).
Since its establishment in February of 2016, Sarang-won has been a haven of warmth, care, and growth for children without necessary parental support for the past nine years. Thanks to the support and generosity of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), we have been able to provide these children with valuable educational opportunities and extend love to them.
Currently, 25 children at Sarang-won are actively pursuing their education and nurturing their dreams, thanks to the generous support of various sponsors, especially GCF. Impressively, 22 of these children are excelling academically, achieving top performance while growing up healthy and full of optimismโa truly inspiring accomplishment. The support of GCF serves as a strong stepping stone to enabling these children as they seek to achieve their dreams and contribute to a brighter future for both Nepal and themselves. Sarang-won remains committed to helping these children grow into valuable members of Nepalese society and the nation. Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for GCF's generous support and unwavering interest. The children we support come from the slums of Bangalore, Indiaโan unplanned, overcrowded area where daily life is fraught with challenges. Water is available only twice a week, electricity is inconsistent, and open sewers not only create severe health hazards but occasionally attract snakes. Poor sanitation further exacerbates the risk of infections and diseases, making this environment difficult for the children and their families. Amid these dire conditions, Building Blocks launched an educational program six days a week, providing breakfast and lunch. This initiative came as a lifeline. Initially, parents sent their 3 to 5.5-year-old children hoping they would at least have access to a clean environment, nutritious meals, and safe drinking water. Two stable meals a day brought immense relief to the parents, and watching their children regain health and happiness replaced their shame with gratitude and hope. Addressing hunger was the first step in our early childhood education program. No child can learn on an empty stomach. Tackling hunger and malnutrition was our priority, and since January 2024, the Global Children Foundation (GCF) has played a crucial role in alleviating this pain and restoring their dignity. Now, our children arrive at school with full stomachs, eager to learn, filled with energy, and excitedly sharing their daily experiencesโfrom meals to learningโwith their families.
Over the past 25 years of ministry in northern India, we have witnessed how meeting the needs of children and youth, and sharing meals with them, opens their hearts and helps them grow in faith. Most of the children who come to our church belong to the Dalit community, the poorest of the poor. Without the church, many of them would not even have two proper meals a day. However, by attending the church, they now receive nutritious and balanced meals, significantly improving their health. Currently, about 150 children across two churches receive consistent meals and snacks thanks to GCFโs support. Amid these challenges, we remain steadfast in our mission to uplift abandoned orphans and nurture them into healthy, contributing members of Indian society. The children in South Bangalore supported by the Global Children Foundation (GCF) are growing into precious seeds of hope, ready to transform their futures. The unconditional love extended by GCF supporters has deeply touched these children, who now regard their benefactors as parents, friends, and teachers. The rice-sharing ministry, which began in the Bagong Silang slum on the outskirts of Manila in 2004, has been providing warm meals to children for years. Additionally, since 2013, the ministry has ex-
tended its reach to the Rodriguez River Village in Pasig City, Metro Manila. However, this vital initiative was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), it was able to resume in both locations in 2024. Although the rice-sharing ministry takes place only once a week, it serves as a lifeline for children who often go without a proper meal even once a day. This eagerly awaited meal is far more than just foodโit is a source of hope, comfort, and life for these children, embodying the essence of community and care. We are profoundly grateful for GCF's dedication to the vision of a world where no child goes hungry. May Godโs abundant grace and peace richly bless GCF and all its donors.
The urban slum of Baseco, near Manila, is home to over 100,000 people and is plagued by severe social issues such as organ trafficking, drug abuse, arms smuggling, teenage pregnancies, and single-parent households. Many children lack birth registrations due to financial hardships, leaving them without official identification. In this area, often referred to as a "garbage village," residents live in dire conditions, facing skin diseases, malnutrition, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and other illnesses. With the support of GCF, we have been able to provide meals to the children in greatest need in Baseco. From Monday to Saturday, approximately 300 children aged 1 to 10 receive warm meals at 2 p.m., offering vital nutrition to impoverished families and helping combat hunger and malnutrition. This meal program significantly impacts the health and development of these growing children. It prevents malnutrition, improves overall health, and contributes to their physical and mental well-being. Thanks to GCF's invaluable support, we have been able to provide abundant meals to the children throughout the year.
We are currently supporting underprivileged families living in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, as well as nearby areas of the capital within a two-hour radius. Many of these families are single-parent households or are children living with relatives due to the absence of their parents. As one example, one family consists of a mother who is unable to work due to health issues and her five daughters, living under very difficult circumstances. Some of the families that received assistance from previous GCF funds have been supported again, while we also extended help to new families this time around. Working closely with our local staff, we carefully select families that are genuinely in need of support. Afterwards, we visit them in person to provide essential supplies such as flour, cooking oil, and sugar โ all of which we purchase directly from local supermarkets.

Thanks to the invaluable support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), we have been able to bring meaningful change to the lives of 360 students in Kurshab village, located in the Uzgen region of southern Kyrgyzstan. GCF's funding has been used to provide warm meals, including animal protein, and a variety of fruits once a week to students who previously lacked access to proper nutrition. This initiative has helped the children replenish essential vitamins and nutrients, fostering healthy growth. These meals not only nourish their bodies but also enrich their minds and spirits. Nutritious meals have given the students the energy they need to focus on their studies, significantly improving their academic performance. Free from the worry of hunger, they are now dedicating themselves more enthusiastically to their education and dreaming of brighter futures. GCFโs ongoing support has enabled us to offer more comprehensive nutritional care and assistance to the children in Kurshab village. These warm meals and fresh fruits symbolize much more than sustenance; they serve as a solid foundation for the children to realize their potential and thrive.
dors in the Chimaltenango region of Guatemala as well as extend warmth and generosity to children in impoverished neighborhoods. Despite Guatemala's typical six-month rain season, there was relatively little rain this year. Although this posed challenges for farming, it created safer conditions for those working outdoors without shelter and for children traveling to and from school or selling items in the streets. The weekly meal distributions held in front of Chimaltenango City Hall every Saturday have been a steadfast tradition for four years. Recently, children who had been absent for months have started returning, their hymn singing filling the square with a profound sense of emotion and hope. During the week, snacks and drinks are provided to children selling goods on the streets, offering them moments of relief and care. In addition, bread distributions continue in unregistered settlements in mountain towns, where we engage with the children through play and prayer. Currently, 230 children in Guatemala are being supported through sponsorship. In addition to providing monthly food supplies, we distribute school supplies, lunch bags, toiletries, and sneakers. On Motherโs Day, we hosted a luncheon and gave gifts to mothers, sharing love. About 90% of the sponsored children live with single mothers or grandmothers. The mothers mainly work as cleaners, domestic helpers, or vendors selling food or fruit in the market to make a living. Many face health challenges such as diabetes and arthritis due to harsh labor and malnutrition. However, people have gradually begun to recognize the importance of education and have begun actively participating in gatherings and worship services for these sponsored children.
We sincerely thank the Global Children Foundation (GCF) for its heartfelt support. Throughout 2024, the Foundationโs generosity has enabled us to provide delicious and nutritious lunches to the children, teachers, and staff of Ebenezer Christian Academy in Nicaragua. Since the new school year began in February, a total of 168 kindergarten and elementary students, ages 4 to 11 (79 boys and 89 girls), along with 22 teachers and staff members (7 men and 15 women), have been served lunch on five days of the week, from Monday to Friday. Once the most prosperous country in South America, Venezuela, despite possessing the world's largest oil reserves, has declined into one of the poorest nations after 24 years of unsustainable welfare policies. Amid these dire circumstances, the support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF) has become a beacon of hope for food-insecure children in the Cumanรก region. Initially providing meals twice a week to 22 children, this initiative has steadily brought meaningful and lasting changes to their lives.
Thanks to GCFโs sponsorship, educational programs have had a positive impact on the childrenโs spiritual and moral development. Their weight and physical growth have steadily improved, leading to noticeable enhancements in their overall health and well-being. Additionally, increased emotional interactions among the children reflect growth in self-esteem and social skills, with greater interest and participation observed. In the Peruvian Amazon region, the dry season begins in May, causing rivers to dry up and forcing children to cross these rivers under the scorching sun, often exceeding 40ยฐC, to reach their schools. For these children, the free meal program at the church is like an oasisโa place to rest, dry their uniforms, and enjoy lunch on their way to school. Additionally, the childrenโs free meal center in Caserรญo village provides one daily meal to younger children, offering them a space filled with joy and hope. The residents of Caserรญo rely on agriculture for their livelihoods. However, the regionโs seasonal extremesโdivided between rainy and dry seasonsโleave little opportunity for work outside of planting and harvest periods, placing the community in a state of constant hardship. Despite these challenges, the children strive for education and survival, but poverty continues to cycle without external support. Amid these difficulties, the Vincent Cimatti Childrenโs Free Meal Center serves as more than just a place for a meal. It is a community grounded in Godโs love, sharing joy, hope, and faith. For the children, it is a haven that helps them endure their challenging daily journeys and a nurturing space where they can dream of a brighter future.
Thanks to the heartfelt love of the Global Children Foundation, the children of Wanaparepo now enjoy nutritious and delicious meals. In the past, many hungry children would linger around the church residence, but today, through shared meals, they are well-fed, smiling, and joyfully playing games. Children aged 3 to 13 benefit greatly from these communal meals, and the positive changes are becoming evident, with gradual improvements in their height and weight. These meals are especially meaningful as they are lovingly prepared with the assistance of village mothers and local volunteer teams from Colombia. Our village faces significant agricultural challenges due to a lack of rainfall and sandy soil. While some families grow tubers, corn, and beans during the rainy season, most still struggle with food shortages. The local custom of men eating first, with mothers and children sharing whatever is left, means children often go hungry. In this context, communal meals exclusively for the children bring immense joy and relief. Though many children bring their own dishes from home, some families lack even basic utensils, so siblings take turns eating. While it is heartbreaking to witness such moments, seeing all the children share a meal together and smile with happiness fills us with deep gratitude and joy.
The Jukyty landfill village in Paraguay, whose name means "Land of Salt" in the native Indian language, is a desolate area where hope has been sown through the establishment of the Vision Canaan Social Welfare Center. Since 1999, the center has operated a weekly Saturday food program, serving 200 meals prepared with love and care to the local community. Childrenโs worship resumed in April this year after being suspended during COVID-19. The meals provided through the generous support of GCF have offered not only physical nourishment but also opportunities for spiritual growth. Despite rising inflation and ongoing extreme poverty in Paraguay, the children of the landfill village are experiencing spiritual abundance and continued discipleship training thanks to GCF and its donors.

With the monthly contribution of just $20 per child, it serves as a precious sign of hope, bringing transformative changes to their lives. Most residents of Sรฃo Gabriel da Cachoeira, located in the Amazonโs Black River region, are Indigenous families who left the jungle in search of better education and healthcare opportunities for their children. However, with limited skills and no stable employment, these families struggle to survive on incomes far below Brazil's monthly minimum wage of approximately $274, often relying on occasional menial jobs for nearby military-affiliated households. In such dire circumstances, even securing daily meals is a challenge, leaving children hungry and unable to focus on their studies. In this environment, GCF's support is making a tangible and profound impact. The children are relieved from hunger through warm, nourishing meals, creating a foundation for them to grow with hope and potential. We believe that these children, who have received love and care, will one day grow into individuals who extend that same compassion to others in need.
In 2024, the Amazon rainforest is experiencing the most severe drought in 50 years. Climate change has led to declining water levels and rising temperatures, causing many rivers to hit record-low levels. In Manaus, the water level has dropped to its lowest since 1902, severely impacting agricultural exports and the transport of essential goods. Additionally, hospital boats that provide care to riverside communities are struggling to access these areas, creating significant challenges for local residents. Adding to these difficulties, approximately 20,000 square kilometers of the Amazon rainforest have been lost to wildfires. This has caused air pollution in Manaus to remain at a โhazardousโ level for two consecutive months, further exacerbating the hardships faced by the local population. Despite the challenging circumstances, we are committed to supporting 100 children from the Tuyuka tribe and the Sรฃo Joรฃo do Tupรฉ riverside village through the Global Children Foundation (GCF). Our efforts will prioritize providing essential food supplies and critical medical services.
Bolivia, a not so wealthy country in South America, faces particularly harsh conditions in remote areas like Torotoro, where government support and social benefits are scarce. In these challenging circumstances, the Global Children Foundation (GCF) has become a beacon of hope for local children struggling with hunger. Currently, GCF provides meals and snacks to approximately 350 underprivileged children each month, leading to remarkable changes. School attendance among students aged 7 to 12 in after-school programs has increased by 30% compared to 2023, and eight additional students have joined the program since its launch. Academic performance has improved dramatically. In a region previously considered to be lagging behind, five students achieved first place in their respective grades this year. Additionally, the childrenโs physical health has advanced to such an extent that they won first place in a regional school soccer tournament. This remarkable transformation has inspired the local community and parents to take a greater interest in their childrenโs health and education. However, persistent economic hardships continue to challenge many parents' ability to fully support their children, deepening their gratitude and reliance on the invaluable assistance provided by GCF.
Latu Elementary School, established by the Christ New Life Africa International Church in the Mega District of Dire Woreda, Ethiopia, provides educational opportunities to marginalized children. The school is currently managed by the Board of Directors, and most of its students come from extremely impoverished families, urgently needing support. Over 240 children require assistance, and this year, 200 children have received much-needed help.

Silontown, one of the rural villages in Liberia, a country ranked among the poorest in Africa. This village faces harsh conditions where school-aged children are often denied access to education. Many families struggle to provide even one meal a day to their offspring, making it essential to support regular quality meals and provide kindergarten and elementary education for the children in this area. Two years ago, we began operating a modern school while building relationships with the local community. However, it was initially challenging to earn their trust. The turning point came with the introduction of the Global Children Foundation (GCF)โs free meal program. This initiative brought significant changes: 161 children now receive regular meals due to this support, leading to noticeable improvements to their health and physical development. Their participation in learning has also greatly increased, and this has helped us gain the trust of their parents. On May 25th of this year, a sudden typhoon caused severe damage to the school, tearing off the roof and scattering debris across nearby roads and yards. Fortunately, a funeral tentโs support poles held up a mud house, preventing any loss of life in what could have been a tragic incident. The near-daily rains that followed this incident rendered the classrooms unusable. Thanks to GCFโs swift response, however, we were able to have the roof repairs completed quickly, restoring the facility in time. Moved by GCFโs dedication, many residents began sending their children to the school starting from the new semester in September. Currently, 82 children are attending classes in the rebuilt, safe classroomsโa pivotal moment that has brought hope to the entire community.
Children in Liberia continue to face the challenges of hunger and child labor. While it is common to see children playing, selling goods, or working throughout the day, it is rare to see them eating. When asked, "When do you eat?" many cannot provide an answer. Much like contestants on the TV show Law of the Jungle who struggle to find food to survive, these children spend their days searching for their next meal. Given these dire circumstances, the support from the Global Children Foundation (GCF) has made it possible to provide stable meals for these children, and we could not be more grateful. At first, the children couldnโt even say โthank youโ after eating, but now they express gratitude and have transformed into helpers, staying back to clean up dishes or assist with chores. Some even take the initiative to fetch water, gradually learning what it means to take responsibility. Currently, we provide meals to Liberian children five days a week. On Wednesdays and Fridays, we also hold Bible reading sessions and prayer meetings. Moving forward, in the new church facility, we are planning on offering meals seven days a week. In this new setting, we aim to teach children to prepare their own meals. This will help foster independence so that even in the absence of our staff, the children will be equipped to feed themselves. The children in Liberia deeply appreciate the support they receive from GCF. Financial resources are managed with transparency by dedicated leaders who meticulously oversee purchases and maintain records.
PK12, the largest slum in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, emerged as a settlement for former nomadic tent dwellers and migrants from rural areas. Today, it is home to approximately 3,000 households and over 20,000 residents. Many in this community rely on daily labor or begging for survival, with the population continuing to grow as new residents arrive regularly. In collaboration with the Global Children Foundation (GCF), we are running a nutrition support program for children under the age of five who suffer from malnutrition. These children often live without parents, or with single parents or grandparents. Once a week, we provide nutrition packages containing rice, couscous, macaroni, powdered milk, eggs, and cheese. Additionally, once a week, we supply freshly prepared nutrient-rich porridge, eggs, and milk. Through home visits, we also identify children in need of additional help and provide medical help, medications, and vitamins. This program goes beyond simply improving the childrenโs nutritional health. It is fostering changes in family relationships and sparking positive shifts within the local community.
In the Busia region of Kenya, poverty, child marriage, polygamy, and endemic diseases like AIDS have led to high rates of early parental death. As a result, many children are abandoned, and the Peniel Orphanage cares for these children while also running the Joy World Mission School, providing free education and two meals a day. Our school aims to restore joy to children who have lost such due to hunger and lack of educational opportunities. We are dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty, nurturing these children to dream, and helping them grow into healthy leaders who can bring positive change to Kenyan society. Through our efforts, the children are learning to embrace hope and build a future filled with possibilities. Now, they can focus on their studies, dream of better futures, and actively prepare for what lies ahead. The boundary dispute between Enkeresuna village and nearby communities has persisted for two years, recently escalating into severe clashes among residents. Although the government intervened in an attempt to mediate, the conflict remained unresolved, leading to the closure of local schools starting last September. In Kamuchira, neglected children often end up as street children, and babies abandoned by single mothers are sent to temporary care centers. Joy Homes steps in to care for these children, providing them with a safe environment where they can grow and thrive. Thanks to the support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), children attending the school now receive daily lunches, freeing them from the grip of hunger. This has allowed them to grow up healthy and happy, filling their days with smiles and laughter.
We are serving in the arid desert climate of northern Kenya, where the average annual rainfall is only 500mm. Here, the Rendille tribe, a nomadic people, raise camels, sheep, and goats while moving in search of pasture and water. Many families endure severe food shortages as
part of their daily lives. Thanks to the generous support of the Global Children Foundation, we have been able to transport food monthly in a 12-ton truck from a city located seven hours away, providing sustenance to 18 preschools and surrounding villages in the region. These preschools, often constructed from corrugated metal, serve as crucial centers where childrenโtypically from households with three to seven siblingsโcome to receive a meal. Currently, around 500 children benefit from the lunch program at these preschools. Each child receives a portion of a meal made from corn and beans, served in plastic containers. This simple meal is a vital source of protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins in this challenging wilderness. Thanks to the support of the Global Children Foundation, the provision of balanced meals has significantly improved the children's health. A healthy diet has boosted their immune systems, resulting in fewer absences due to illness. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we asked the children who accompanied their parents to the carving market about the foods they most wanted to eat. Almost all of them mentioned eggs and chicken. Inspired by their responses, we began raising chickens in 2021, hoping to provide eggs for the children. After numerous trials, we successfully brought high-quality laying hens from Korea, and we anticipate egg production to begin next year. Thanks to the generous support of the Global Children Foundation, we have been able to provide the children with eggs, snacks, and cornmeal, supporting their nutrition and growth. The bright smiles of these children, nourished by balanced meals, bring immense joy and hope to this community.
