Thisweek,thechildreninTheNesthavebeen thoroughlyenjoyinglisteningtotheTraditionalTale ofJackandtheBeanstalk Ithasbeenwonderfulto watchthemretellingthestorythroughtheir imaginativeplay,bringingcharactersandeventsto life.Thechildrenalsowentonagoldenegghunt aroundtheschoolgroundswiththeirnewYear2 buddies Thesesharedexperiencesarealready buildingconfidenceandfriendships,andtheboys andgirlswillcontinuetoenjoyspendingtimewith theolderchildrenduringourBuddyAfternoons throughouttherestoftheyear
TreetopsenjoyedawonderfuladventuretoKirkleyHall Zoo,wheretheyencounteredawiderangeofanimals andbirds Ontheirreturn,thechildrenwerebrimming withenthusiasmandeagertosharetheirexperiences Highlightsincludedholdingthefriendlysnakes, spottingwallabieswiththeiryoungsafelytuckedin theirpouches,cuddlingPumpkintheguineapig,and bravelymeetingthehairytarantula.Theexcitement wascappedwhenthechildrenspottedtwodeeron ourschoolgroundsonthecoachrideback
Meanwhile,Receptionchildrenhavebeendeveloping theirobservationalskillsbydrawingdifferentmodes oftransport,practisingfinepencilcontrolin preparationforwriting Theyhavealsoenjoyed structuredplaytimes,includingparachutegames, traditionalplaygroundgames,andimaginativeplay.
