On behalf of Motorcycling Australia (MA), I extend a warm welcome to all fans, riders and officials to the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores.
After a brilliant 2025, the ProMX Championship will return with eight rounds of high-stakes action that will take riders and fans on a journey across Australia’s finest motocross venues.
I’d also like to welcome the new additions to the calendar in 2026: Traralgon, Warwick and Nowra.
It’s easy to see why the ProMX championship continues to be a showcase of the best of Australian motocross.
It starts with the top riders competing in the Kawasaki MX1 class to the emerging talent in the Pirelli MX2 class, the next generation of Australian motocross talent in the Maxxis MX3 class, and the ever-expanding EZILIFT MXW women’s class.
And let’s not forget the Veterans, Fox Racing MX85 and KTM MX65 Futures classes.
Fans won’t miss a moment of the action with the exclusive television coverage through SBS, SBS On Demand, Stan Sport and the ProMX TV livestream. I would like to extend my gratitude to all those involved in the ProMX Championship, including the volunteers, officials, staff, riders, teams, and sponsors, for their unwavering support and hard work.
It takes a community to make a championship, and I thank you all for coming together to make the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores a success.
Peter Doyle CEO Motorcycling Australia

Welcome to the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores.
This season is especially meaningful and exciting for Penrite as we celebrate 100 years as a family-owned, Australian-made brand. Reaching this milestone is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it makes our continued involvement in Australian motocross even more special.
2026 also marks our sixth consecutive year partnering with the ProMX Championship and Motorcycling Australia. Over that time, we’ve seen the series grow stronger each season, with great racing, passionate fans and talented riders across all classes.
Motocross has always been close to the heart of Penrite. Supporting the motorcycle community – from grassroots riders to professional racers – is something we truly believe in. Our motorcycle and bike care products are developed with riders in mind, and we’re proud to play a part in helping the sport continue to grow.

It’s also great to see the Ezilift MXW class creating more opportunities for female riders to build their skills and compete at a professional level.
With the championship once again being televised, even more fans will be able to experience the excitement of Australian motocross and follow the riders throughout the season.
You’ll see the Penrite team at every round, so please come by and say hello. We always enjoy meeting riders and fans, hearing your stories, and being a part of the motocross community.
We wish all competitors, teams and fans a fantastic 2026 ProMX season.
Ryan Lednar Events Manager Penrite Oil
AMX Superstores is proud to continue our partnership with the 2026 Australian ProMX Championship. We extend a warm welcome to all, spectators, riders, race teams and industry supporters.
This is our fifth year as the ‘presented by’ partner for ProMX, and we are thrilled to be onboard again this year.
For AMX, we’ve always lived and breathed motocross. From our beginnings in 2008 selling clearance motocross gear out of a shed in Bayswater, Victoria, to today with 46 stores across five states and an ever-growing team, motocross is in our blood. The sport provides the opportunity for everyone to enjoy motocross, from spectators to riders to industry sponsors like us, we just love getting involved and having some fun.
We also see our support of ProMX as a small contribution to ensure motocross stays where it should be: a wellmanaged sport viewed by as many spectators as possible who have a quality experience, whether at the track or watching the livestream or on free-to-air television through SBS.

We know our sport is one of the most spectacular, challenging and extreme sports out there today and we want it to grow for the benefit of teams, riders and spectators alike.
We’ll be at all rounds, so come and talk to our team about anything motocross. We enjoy getting along to these events; it’s what being involved in this industry is all about and we’re privileged to be here to support racing and just talk bikes for a weekend!
And by the way, if you pass by our trade stand, you can pick yourself up some goodies at special ProMX pricing as well!
From team AMX to you, we hope you enjoy the 2026 season – now let’s go racing!
Rob Farrimond GM Marketing & Merchandise AMX Superstores

The start of a new Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores season is always exciting, but to set the scene on 2025 let’s look back at what transpired in 2025 as Honda Racing completed a second clean sweep of the MX1-3 and MXW classes.
A thrilling day of Kawasaki MX1 racing culminated in Boost Mobile Honda’s Kyle Webster successfully defending his title, and ensuring he enters 2026 as a two-time champion.
However, it was his Honda Racing teammate, Wilson Todd, who claimed the QMP round victory and finished his year off on a high note.
The day’s action began early, when a scorching AMX Pole Shootout lap saw Kirk Gibbs (KTM Racing Team) take a fairytale pole position at his final ProMX event. Gibbs’ fastest lap of 1:49.880 beat yesterday’s top qualifier, Todd, by 0.2s, with Nathan Crawford (KTM Racing Team) in third.
Crawford ensured the Kawasaki MX1 Class title fight went down to the last moto by tearing to a start-to-finish victory in the opening race.
A spectacular crash on the start straight claimed Gibbs, Luke Clout (Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki), and Todd Waters (Raceline TDub Husqvarna Racing), however, Crawford stayed clear of any drama and sailed to his first moto win of 2025.
Six seconds adrift, Todd and Webster were under no team orders as they battled hard to finish second and third, respectively. Zachary Watson (Triumph) and Aaron Tanti (Monster Energy CDR Yamaha) filled the remaining top five positions.
In race two, a stunning last-corner pass saw Todd steal the race
and round win from his teammate, Webster, in dramatic fashion. Todd holeshot and led the first half of the final Kawasaki MX1 Class race before coming unstuck in the increasingly rutted conditions, allowing Webster to inherit the lead. Then in the final corner, it was Webster’s turn to make a small error, and Todd quickly pounced to take the last-gasp win by 1.14 seconds, while Levi Rogers (Yamaha) rode the best race of his year to finish a solid P3.
Crawford struggled to find a flow on the choppy circuit and settled for fourth position, ahead of Watson in P5.
Todd, Crawford, and Webster claimed the round podium placings, while in the final championship standings, Webster stood triumphant with 315pts, ahead of Crawford (300) and Todd (264).
The top qualifier of the Pirelli MX2 division, Noah Ferguson, ended his season on the highest-possible note by breaking through for his first overall win of the year.
The Queensland-based rider got the better of a spirited duel with newly crowned Pirelli MX2 class champion Brodie Connolly (Polyflor Honda Racing) to take a hard-fought win in the opening moto.
Connolly notched the holeshot, but Ferguson pushed the New Zealander throughout the opening laps, before the pair collided when two lines came together. Connolly came off second-best, while Ferguson charged to his first win of the year, beating Ryder Kingsford (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha) by 10.85s, with NFAL Honda’s Alex Larwood in third.
Connolly and Byron Dennis (KTM Racing Team) finished the moto in P4 and P5.

Connolly bounced back to win the second MX2 moto of the event, pushing Ferguson wide to get the holeshot, and then controlling a handy gap to the finish. Kingsford finished 5.1 seconds behind, while Ferguson focused on a measured ride to claim his first MX2 round victory of the year. Dennis and Kaleb Barham (Kawasaki) took P4 and P5.
The final Pirelli MX2 class round podium of 2025 was filled by Ferguson, Kingsford, and Connolly, as Brodie ended the year with 378pts to Kingsford’s 329 and Ferguson’s 304.
Another perfect day for Honda Racing’s Kayd Kingsford saw him continue his dominance in the MAXXIS MX3 class and take home the silverware.
Kingsford successfully wrapped up the title with a race left to run, after securing a clear holeshot and coasting to a

15.9-second win in the opening moto. With his nearest rival, Jet Alsop (JPM Race Team) struggling to 12th, Kingsford’s victory was enough to claim the 2025 MAXXIS MX3 championship.
Monster Energy WBR Yamaha’s Koby Hantis finished second, with Jackson Fuller (KTM) a lonely third. Kiwi Hayden Draper (JCR Altherm Yamaha) recovered well from a mid-pack start to finish fourth, and Seth Shackleton (KTM) was fifth.
Yet another commanding ride by Kingsford in the second MX3 race saw him claim a perfect day, to complete a hugely successful season of racing. Husqvarna rider Jake Rumens secured the holeshot, but Kingsford hit the front within seconds and never looked back. Hantis recovered well from a P8 start to finish 14.6 seconds behind Kingsford, with Alsop a hard-fought P3.
Fuller and Shackleton filled the remaining top five spots.
Hantis and Fuller flanked Kingsford on the round podium, while Kingsford convincingly won the title (381pts) over Alsop (316) and Monster Energy WBR Yamaha’s Ky Woods (251).
Having wrapped up her fourth EZILIFT MXW championship on Saturday, there was one goal left for Charli Cannon to tick off on Sunday – complete a perfect season.

The SCT Logistics Honda Racing rider did just that during the second moto, quickly working her way past holeshot winner Taylor Thompson (KTM) in the initial corners, then coasting to a huge 45.4-second lead by the time she took the checkered flag.
Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki’s Taylah McCutcheon finished the moto in P2, with Thompson third. Madi Simpson (Monster Energy WBR Yamaha) and Darci Whalley (KTM) finished fourth and fifth.
Cannon, McCutcheon, and Thompson stood on both the round and championship podiums, with Cannon amassing a perfect 200pts, McCutcheon on 152, and Thompson on 145.

The Kawasaki MX1 class is the top category in ProMX, where the top factory-backed teams and riders compete, representing all the major Japanese and European manufacturers on latest state-of-the-art 450cc four-strokes – including Italian marque Beta for the first time.
In Kawasaki MX1, you’ll get to see the best riders in the nation and international stars who may make a one-off appearance or compete in the entire championship. This only serves to elevate the level of competition and add even more star power.
Leading the 2026 charge in Kawasaki MX1 is two-time defending champion and Motocross of Nations winner Kyle Webster (Honda), who has been pushed to the limit by Jed Beaton (Yamaha) since 2024.
Beaton’s 2025 season was ultimately cut short by injury, as he dropped back to fourth behind Nathan Crawford (KTM) and Wilson Todd (Honda).
The leading quartet all returns in 2026, and will be joined on the MX1 starting gates by multiple champion Dean Ferris (Kawasaki), Todd Waters, 2023 champion Aaron Tanti (Yamaha), Zachary Watson (KTM), Cody O’Loan (Beta) and Bryce Ognenis (Yamaha), as well as a new generation of young guns eager to show their skills in the premier category.
Kawasaki MX1 is the place to be for the most talented riders, the best-funded teams, and the fastest bikes. Get ready for a thrilling display of raw speed and intensity that will again have everyone on the edge of their seats.

The Ezilift MXW class is the premier women’s motocross competition in Australia. With participants who are at least 15 years old and riding on machines of 125cc or higher, MXW has produced many talented champions who have also made their mark internationally, including Charli Cannon, Meghan Rutledge, Maddy Brown, Emma Milesevic, Jess Moore and Danielle McDonald.
The 2026 MXW championship promises to be highly competitive, which includes the return of reigning champion Cannon who will be put under the blowtorch by reigning American champion Lachlan Turner (Yamaha) making her full-time debut.
After breezing through the last four MXW championships, Cannon’s battle with Turner carries huge anticipation – with the duo then set to continue the budding rivalry in the 2026 American title.
Then there’s the other ProMX regulars such as Taylah McCutcheon (Kawasaki), Taylor Thompson (KTM), New Zealander Karaitiana Horne (Kawasaki), Madi Simpson (Yamaha), Dari Whalley (Honda), Mia Tongue (Honda), Leah Rimbas (KTM) and Emily Lambert (GASGAS).
Recent MXW initiatives such as the popular track walk will also continue in 2026, which especially benefits those who are competing in the top class for the first time.

The FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup is returning to Wonthaggi, featuring four-rider teams from Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America.
Twelve riders representing some of the best women’s motocross athletes will contest three motos over the weekend: one as a standalone shootout, and two alongside round one action in the ProMX Championship Ezilift MXW class.
The best 11 results from each team (ie a team can drop its worst result) will determine the final standings and crown the prestigious 2026 FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup winner.
Australia is the two-time defending champion in the FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup, defeating New Zealand in 2024’s inaugural event in Woodville before a Wonthaggi nail-biter in 2025 saw them come from behind to defeat a gallant United States of America.

The 2026 Fox Racing MX85 Cup will be held at the Wonthaggi (March 21-22), Canberra (April 19) and Toowoomba (May 24) rounds of the ProMX Championship.
The class will be open to all riders in the 12-U16 age bracket (two-stroke 85cc Big Wheel), while those who meet the FIM age requirements (currently 12-14 years) will also be eligible for Team Australia selection at the 2026 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship in the Czech Republic on July 5-6.
The 2025 Fox Racing MX85 Cup was won by Blake Bohannon who held off the fast-finishing Seth Thomas. Bohannon will return in 2025 to defend the title.
The Fox Racing MX85 Cup was introduced in 2023 to serve as a Team Australia qualification process for the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, replicating the same structure and format riders will encounter at the international event.
With an entry list of 47 riders in Wonthaggi to kick the season off, the racing’s going to be electrifying!
