This season is especially meaningful and exciting for Penrite as we celebrate 100 years as a family-owned, Australian-made brand. Reaching this milestone is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it makes our continued involvement in Australian motocross even more special.
2026 also marks our sixth consecutive year partnering with the ProMX Championship and Motorcycling Australia. Over that time, we’ve seen the series grow stronger each season, with great racing, passionate fans and talented riders across all classes.
Motocross has always been close to the heart of Penrite. Supporting the motorcycle community – from grassroots riders to professional racers – is something we truly believe in. Our motorcycle and bike care products are developed with riders in mind, and we’re proud to play a part in helping the sport continue to grow.
It’s also great to see the Ezilift MXW class creating more opportunities for female riders to build their skills and compete at a professional level.

This is our fifth year as the ‘presented by’ partner for ProMX, and we are thrilled to be onboard again this year.
For AMX, we’ve always lived and breathed motocross. From our beginnings in 2008 selling clearance motocross gear out of a shed in Bayswater, Victoria, to today with 46 stores across five states and an ever-growing team, motocross is in our blood. The sport provides the opportunity for everyone to enjoy motocross, from spectators to riders to industry sponsors like us, we just love getting involved and having some fun.
We also see our support of ProMX as a small contribution to ensure motocross stays where it should be: a wellmanaged sport viewed by as many spectators as possible who have a quality experience, whether at the track or watching the livestream or on free-to-air television through SBS.

GILLMAN ROUND THREE WRAP
Defending MX1 champion Kyle Webster claimed the overall honours in a gripping round three of the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) at Gillman on Sunday, May 10.
The 1-2 scorecard for Webster (Honda Racing Australia) in the two Kawasaki MX1 motos saw him trim Jed Beaton’s lead in the eight-round championship to 12pts ahead of the next battle in Toowoomba (Qld) on May 24.
Beaton (Monster Energy CDR Yamaha) went 3-1 at Gillman, with his runaway win in the second moto snapping Webster’s winning streak at the Adelaide track which had extended back to 2024.
KAWASAKI MX1
Beaton and Webster may have looked ominous in Superpole, but that meant nothing to Ferris who blasted to the front in the opening 25-minute plus a lap moto – and remained in charge until his challenge evaporated on lap 11.
That paved the way for Webster to win his first moto of 2026 –and his fourth in a row at Gillman – while Todd, Beaton, Aaron Tanti (Monster Energy CDR Yamaha) and Crawford also flashed across the finish line in quick succession. Beaton’s 1:52.520 on lap two was also the day’s benchmark.
Regan Duffy (Berry Sweet Yamaha), a former MX1 championship runner-up in 2021, was a lonely sixth from Zachary Watson (KTM Factory Racing) and Liam Jackson (Pro Honda Racing).
The second moto reignited the playbook from the opening two rounds, with Beaton easily accounting for Webster as the duo continues to assert its dominance on the premier class.
Wilson Todd (Honda Racing Australia) and Nathan Crawford (Moto Coach Elite Racing Honda) also finished on the MX1 podium at Gillman, while it was heartbreak for Dean Ferris (Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki) who led moto one from the outset before he retired four laps from home with a mechanical gremlin.
Honda Racing Australia duo Alex Larwood and Heath Fisher dominated the Pirelli MX2 and Maxxis MX3 classes, while Ryder Madafiglio (Husqvarna) and Ollie Cale (KTM) won the KTM Group MX65 Futures motos.
Beaton has now moved to 145pts in the standings, from Webster (133), Tanti (106), Todd (103), Waters (88), Ferris (81) and Watson (81).
PIRELLI MX2
A spectacular Sunday for Larwood: two runaway wins in Pirelli MX2, and all in front of the South Aussie’s family and friends.
And he needed to be on top of his game, with his closest championship challenger Byron Dennis (KTM Racing Team) producing quality 2-3 results to keep the standings a tight affair.
Larwood leads Dennis by 10pts (130 to 120), with Kayd Kingsford (111) and Dylan Walsh (KTM Racing Team, 109) also remaining well in the mix after impressive 2026 campaigns.
Larwood’s victory in moto one was a clinical wire-to-wire affair, while Dennis muscled his way into second by lap four. With the top two firmly entrenched, the battle for third was a beauty that eventually fell in favour of Walsh just ahead of Noah Ferguson (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha).
Crawford finished third from Todd, Tanti, Ferris, Duffy and Todd Waters (Raceline Husqvarna).
GILLMAN ROUND THREE WRAP
Siblings Ryder and Kayd Kingsford (both Honda Racing Australia) finished in positions 5-6 from Haruki Yokoyama (Kawasaki Australia) and Seth Burchell (Monster Energy WBR Yamaha).
In the second moto, Ryder Kingsford threw out an early challenge before Larwood broke his resistance, while Dennis made it a double podium from Souya Nakajima (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha) – the Japanese star beginning to find his feat in his maiden Aussie campaign.
Ferguson, Madoc Dixon (Kawasaki Australia), Ryan Alexanderson (JPM 360 Kawasaki) and Kayd Kingsford were next.
MAXXIS MX3
Fisher gave his Maxxis MX3 championship aspirations a massive shot in the arm, leapfrogging from fifth to second in the standings after a blistering clean sweep.
New Zealander Hayden Draper (Monster Energy WBR Yamaha) remains at the head of the pack on 130pts, from Fisher (108) and Riley Burgess (Boyds Moto Racing KTM, 106).
Seventeen-year-old Fisher was relentless, upping his work rate across both 20-minute plus a lap motos – an output that only Draper (moto one) and Jackson Fuller (KTM Racing Team, moto two) could match.
Draper was second in the opener ahead of Burgess, Seth Thomas (GASGAS Australia), Jack Deveson (Monster Energy WBR Yamaha) and Seth Morrow (Honda Australia), and Fuller was runner-up in the finale from Cooper Rowe (MXRP Yamaha), Morrow, Corey Eisel (Honda) and Deveson.
Draper was eighth after a poor start and then clipping the rear of Deveson’s bike and going down.
KTM GROUP MX65 FUTURES
Madafiglio, the reigning KTM Group MX65 Futures No. 3, was the fastest rider on track at Gillman, with his 1-2 results earning a 47pt harvest from Cale (41pts) and Hudson Francis (Yamaha, 38).
Madafiglio had his Husqvarna on rails in moto one as Blake Regan (GASGAS) just edged out Rowdy Rabjones (KTM) for second, followed by Francis, Cale and Stella Harding (Yamaha) taking it up to the boys.
In moto two, Madafiglio led early before dramas on lap two saw him drop back to third. He was then able to slip back past Francis – but that was as far as it got as a determined Cale won by nearly 10 seconds.
Joe Thurlby (KTM), Flynn Burgess (KTM) and Regan claimed positions 4-6.

ECHO VALLEY HISTORY
TOOWOOMBA AUTO CLUB (TAC)
Founded in May 1950, the Toowoomba Auto Club (TAC) quickly established itself as a driving force in regional motorsport. With club colours of blue and gold, its founding members played a pivotal role in delivering the 1949 Australian Grand Prix at Leyburn – an achievement that laid the foundation for the club’s formation.
In its early years, TAC delivered a diverse motorsport program, including street circuit racing at Middle Ridge, hill climbs at Prince Henry Drive, Tobruk Drive, Picnic Point, and Ballard, as well as gymkhanas and other competitive events. Notably, the club hosted two Australian Hill Climb Championships at Prince Henry Drive.
Recognising the need for a dedicated motorsport venue, members Rod and Dallas Pugh identified and secured the Echo Valley property in 1965. The first event was held in 1966, marking the beginning of a new era. Life Member Merv Brown was instrumental in developing the facility, constructing much of it and naming it “Echo Valley.” The venue was later expanded to support touring car racing, further strengthening its reputation.
TRANSITION TO MOTOCROSS
By the mid-1990s, Echo Valley had evolved into a premier motocross venue, with events such as the iconic King of the Mountain gaining strong recognition. By 1999, motocross accounted for approximately 90 per cent of club activity.
This shift culminated in April 2005 when the organisation rebranded as the Toowoomba Motocross Club (TMXC), maintaining its original corporate identity established in 1950. Meanwhile, the Toowoomba Auto Club was re-established in 2010 as an incorporated association and remains active today, supporting motorsport events and community activities across the Darling Downs.
TOOWOOMBA MOTORCYCLE CLUB
In 1975, a collaborative partnership between TAC and the Toowoomba Motorcycle Club (TMCC) led to the development of a purpose-built motocross track at Echo Valley. This initiative resulted in the first Mountain Man Motocross, held on 25 May 1975 – an event that would grow into one of the region’s most iconic competitions.
Over the following years, Echo Valley hosted numerous high-profile events, including the 1982 Australian Motocross Championship, Queensland series rounds and the Darling Downs MX Series.
Since the 1990s, Echo Valley has consistently delivered some of the most significant motocross events in Queensland, as well as demonstrating leadership in inclusivity as the first club in Australia to introduce a women’s-only racing class at club level.

MX1 CLASS
The Kawasaki MX1 class is the top category in ProMX, where the top factory-backed teams and riders compete, representing all the major Japanese and European manufacturers on latest state-of-the-art 450cc four-strokes – including Italian marque Beta for the first time.
In Kawasaki MX1, you’ll get to see the best riders in the nation and international stars who may make a one-off appearance or compete in the entire championship. This only serves to elevate the level of competition and add even more star power.
Leading the 2026 charge in Kawasaki MX1 is two-time defending champion and Motocross of Nations winner Kyle Webster (Honda), who has been pushed to the limit by Jed Beaton (Yamaha) since 2024.
Beaton’s 2025 season was ultimately cut short by injury, as he dropped back to fourth behind Nathan Crawford (KTM) and Wilson Todd (Honda).
The leading quartet all returns in 2026, and will be joined on the MX1 starting gates by multiple champion Dean Ferris (Kawasaki), Todd Waters, 2023 champion Aaron Tanti (Yamaha), Zachary Watson (KTM), Cody O’Loan (Beta) and Bryce Ognenis (Yamaha), as well as a new generation of young guns eager to show their skills in the premier category.

In 2025 the ProMX Championship will welcome back the hotly contested Pirelli MX2 class, a stepping stone for young riders on the path to professional racing. This class allows riders as young as 15 to compete on machines ranging from 122-250cc: the perfect place for young talent to showcase their skills and make their mark.
With most of the top riders, including Ryder Kingsford (Honda), Noah Ferguson (Yamaha), Alex Larwood (Honda), Byron Dennis (KTM) and Jayce Cosford (Kawasaki), returning in 2026, the heat will be on from the get-go – and that’s without even factoring in hotshots graduating from MX3, including Kayd Kingsford (Honda), Jet Alsop (Honda) and Ky Woods (Yamaha).

MX3 CLASS
The Maxxis MX3 class is the stepping stone for juniors to advance to the senior ranks of nationallevel racing. It caters for riders aged 14-U18 who can race on machines with a capacity ranging from 122150cc two-stroke and 200-250cc four-stroke.
This class also offers exceptional riders the chance to move up early to the Pirelli MX2 class at 15, aligning with international age groupings.
The Maxxis MX3 serves as an entry point for both privateer racers and manufacturer-backed team riders to learn the ropes of professional racing and get accustomed to the style of racing, schedules, and track conditions.
The objective of this development class is to equip riders with the skills and knowledge needed to make a smooth transition and embark on a successful career in the MX2 class.

MX85 CUP
The 2026 Fox Racing MX85 Cup will be held at the Wonthaggi (March 21-22), Canberra (April 19) and Toowoomba (May 24) rounds of the ProMX Championship.
The class will be open to all riders in the 12-U16 age bracket (two-stroke 85cc Big Wheel), while those who meet the FIM age requirements (currently 12-14 years) will also be eligible for Team Australia selection at the 2026 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship in the Czech Republic on July 5-6.
The 2025 Fox Racing MX85 Cup was won by Blake Bohannon who held off the fast-finishing Seth Thomas. Bohannon will return in 2025 to defend the title.
The Fox Racing MX85 Cup was introduced in 2023 to serve as a Team Australia qualification process for the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, replicating the same structure and format riders will encounter at the international event.
With an entry list of 47 riders in Wonthaggi to kick the season off, the racing’s going to be electrifying!

Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) fans won’t miss a minute of the action in 2026 with SBS to continue as the official broadcast partner of ProMX.
