The NX-ring is EK most recent seal development. Improving over the QX-ring seal through design refinements on contact points, the NX-ring achieves a 15% reduction in friction. O-RING QX-RING SX-RING O-RING EK O-Ring chain has excellent performance at a great price. EK Chain was at the forefront of Sealed chain development and manufacture in the early 70’s, first used as genuine chain on the Kawasaki Z1. O’ring used for SRO Series.
QX-RING QX-Ring design reduces friction by 40% compared to O-ring. Lab tests show the QX-ring chains last 50% longer than a standard O-ring chain. New NXring chains last 15% longer than QX-ring chain !
SX-RING EK’s SX-Ring is an even slimmer profile racing specified seal utlising the same ‘X’ style design that provides 40% less friction than a normal O-ring seal. Combining this with the extra low profile allows this seal to achieve the best wear to use ratio of any QX-Ring option. This seal is exclusive to EK’s narrow racing chain line ‘RR/RRSM’.

SKJ (SEMI-PRESS FIT CLIP TYPE) Link plate is the semi-press type and require tools such as a pair of pliers.
SPJ (CLIP TYPE) SPJ is the standard connecting link for non-sealed chains. Link plate is the loose-fit type (clearance fit) and no special tools are required for pressing the plate. * The sealed chains do not have SPJ settings. (For loose-type link plates, grease may leak between the pin and bushing.)
HOW TO INSTALL SKJ/SPJ
1. Set the connecting link pin into the chain.
4. Attach the outer plate up to the groove where the clip fits, and then insert the clip.
2. Attach the outer plate
SKJ : semi-press fit type, won’t be able to fit by hand SPJ : loose type, can be installed without press-fittin
* Attach the clip in the direction of the arrow.
3. Use a pair of pliers to press-fit the SKJ outer plate.
5. Installation complete. Please verify the clip is securely seated in the groove.

NEW SCREW TYPE MASTER LINK (SLJ) EK’s new screw type master links do not require any special tools for installation. This unique patented link gives a rivet-like fit, using only a wrench and a pair of pliers. Only optionnal connecting links and only for specific chain (not off-road)
LIGHTENING HOLES Lightening holes in the side plates reduce the chain’s overall weight by 3%, without compromising tensile strength. These holes also extend the service life by dissipating heat and helping reduce dirt and mud build-up. Lightening Holes
CHAIN CUTTING & RIVETING TOOL EK’s chain tool is machined from solid billet hardened steel and designed to last for a lifetime of service. This tool can be used to drive out pins when removing old chains and installing your new chain with the included clamping plates.

Clip-Type (slip fit) Easy to install. Comes standard with some nonsealed light-duty chains. Can be installed with a standard pair of pliers. Comes standard with motocross chains.
Clip-Type (semi-press fit) The SKJ is easy to install and very similar to a standard SPJ link. The SKJ’s re-designed link plate requires additional pressure to push onto the connecting pins but offers increased dependability and a tighter fit. Comes standard with off-road and drag racing chains. Can be easily installed with a standard pair of pliers.
Rivet-Type The MLJ is our most dependable connecting link,more commonly used on street machines. Requires special riveting tool to install.
Screw Type The SLJ is easy to install and a very dependable alternative. Patented mechanism allows easy installment with a wrench and a pair of pliers. Available only for selected sealed chains.
LIMITED WARRANTY EK O-ring and Quadra-X ring chains are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months/ unlimited mileage (for street use) or 12 months/unlimited mileage (for off-road use). This warranty is not applicable in any of the following cases: 1. Any applications other than those recommended by EK Chain and motorcycle owners manual 2. Use in competitive events 3. Use on motorcycles that have been modified in any way 4. Improper installment 5. Sealed chains: approx. 15,000 km to 30,000 km Non-sealed chains: approx. 5,000 km
* Chain life varies based on factors such as usage environment, motorcycletype, maintenance frequency and maintenance method.
FOR SAFETY USAGE EK sealed chains are warranted against manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship up to 1 year or 10,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The warranty begins from the purchase date shown on the invoice/receipt. This warranty is not applicable in any of the following cases. 1.
Any applications other than those recommended by EK Chain and motorcycle owner’s manual 2. Use in competitive events or in racing competitions 3. Use on motorcycles that have been modified in any way 4. Improper installment 5. Maintenance neglect including but not limited to lack of or improper lubrication, sprocket misalignment and improper chain adjustment 6. Normal wear
