As MWTC 2019 gets underway, Mubadala Group’s CEO and Managing Director has a message for players and fans
Mubadala is excited to sponsor the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. The 12th edition of this tournament kicks off with a line-up of some of the world’s greatest tennis players competing for the title. This unique event attracts the very best players because of the enthusiastic fans, the great facilities at Zayed Sports City, and the city of Abu Dhabi itself, which enjoys a fantastic climate this time of year.
We are delighted to be part of an event with such a legacy that showcases Abu Dhabi as a world-class destination on the global sporting stage.
Having been long-term supporters of tennis through not only the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi, but also the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic in California, and the Rio Open in Brazil, we are thrilled to play a part in maximizing opportunities to inspire and engage young people from around the globe.
As a responsible investor, we have always been committed to positively impacting our community, and have helped coordinate a range of activities especially designed to engage and inspire young people around the Championship. We are also committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle while building excitement around the event and the sport.
The Mubadala Tennis in Schools program, held in partnership with Zayed Sports City and the Ministry of Education, is one such initiative that aims to grow the game of tennis in the UAE. Created to ensure a legacy for the sporting youth of the UAE, the program is integrated into the physical education curriculum of participating schools, delivering even more excitement and expert training to young students.
We are proud to present a world-class sporting experience that is enjoyed by so many. On behalf of Mubadala, I wish the athletes the best of luck and hope the fans enjoy the action on and off the court.
