COMMENTARY BY MIKE TUCKER

If people understand the way that ESOPs work, it could allow them to make a different type of informed decision about who they work for.

It will not be sufficient for Morehouse College … to produce clever graduates, men fluent in speech and able to argue their way through; but rather honest men … who are sensitive to the wrongs, the sufferings, and the injustices of society and who are willing to accept responsibility for correcting (those) ills.

Cooperative effort offers a fantastic model for Black economic empowerment because it’s flexible enough to accommodate just about any circumstance.

OR EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP: WHICH ONE BEST REPRESENTS YOUR FUTURE?

It means you don't have to compromise as much because in some ways you have some modicum of control that you don't have in a traditional job...you have a lot of control if you're one of the worker-owners.

Part of how capitalism reproduces itself is by obscuring what money is, where it comes from, and how it works.

Employee ownership promotes equity across the country for disadvantaged and oppressed people.

We do this work because we know Black people deserve better.

Prudential Foundation’s Commitment to Advancing Ownership

If your goal is not universal human flourishing and you don’t take that goal very seriously, I don’t see how you can actually measure its impact.

Just as ancient Egyptian scribes were inspired by Jehwty (a.k.a. Thoth), the deity of knowledge and writing, The Collective hopes the stories presented will inform and inspire.
