NEW Beginner Barn Quilt Painting
If you are looking for a historic, artistic craft, barn quilting may be your new favorite form of art. A barn quilt takes the concept of a quilt square, just like one you would find on a blanket in your home, and recreates it on wood. Barn quilts are thought to have begun hundreds of years ago when immigrants from central Europe painted them to identify and decorate their barns. This class includes all materials and you will head home with a fully painted 1'x1' barn quilt.

NEW Celebrating 250 Years With Cursive
This year is the celebration of America 250: The official commemoration for the 250th anniversary (Semi-quin-centennial) of American independence. A key part involves citizen archivist projects, like those by the National Archives, to digitize and transcribe handwritten documents from the Revolutionary era, making them searchable and understandable for modern audiences. In this fun workshop, we are going to learn cursive and pen a letter using fountain pens (that are provided). We will learn a little about the Declaration of Independence writing style and how to care for fountain pens. We will celebrate going slow and going analog in a modern time of screens and typing. This is a fun way to experience history physically while working on handwriting. This class is being held in conjunction with the Red River Artist Network and their commitment to celebrating and promoting art in the Red River Valley.

Then we transition into circle time, which may consist of music, finger plays, movement activities, books, flannel board stories, puppets and other child-centered activities. This series is designed for parents and their little ones to step away from the structure of daily routines and dive into the joy of openended discovery. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, we focus on the process of play, allowing children to lead the way while parents gain fresh insights into their child's development.
Keys to Kindergarten offers children important school readiness activities that improve academic, social and emotional skills. This class is for children living in the Moorhead School District who will be attending kindergarten in the Fall of 2026 and their parents. This will be a great opportunity for Kindergarten families to see their elementary school, meet staff and teachers and ask any questions or concerns you may have.
