Chairman’s Report Dear Members, It is with great pleasure I welcome you to our first Journal for 2026. I hope you and your loved ones enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and the New Year got off to a bang, filled with family, friends, fun and festivities. We have an exciting year ahead at Sporties! Recently, we proudly launched our newest food offering, NOMAD, an Eastern Mediterranean inspired food truck serving a range of kebabs, gyros and desserts. True to its name, NOMAD has been designed as a travelling, ever evolving food experience, with menus which will change seasonally showcasing cuisines from around the world. This novel approach will allow us to expand and regularly refresh our offerings, ensuring there is always something new for you to enjoy. In a year like no other, 2026 has brought with it the commencement of a consultation process as we explore the future development of our newly acquired land. Whilst ideas and concepts are still being considered, one thing is certain, the future of Sporties is bright, and we are committed to creating the very best Club experience for our Members. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our sporting codes the very best for the year ahead. We are incredibly proud to support these teams and look forward to seeing their continued growth and success, particularly through our Sporties Junior Legends program, which encourages families to sign up and get involved in local sport. Congratulations must go to our wonderful staff, who recently came together to celebrate 2025 at our end of year event. A special shout out to Matthew McGregor, who was recognised as our Employee of the Year 2025. Well done Matt! We are immensely proud of our entire team and I acknowledge their hard work, dedication and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences which as you know, is the foundation of everything we do. As we plan out 2026, I am excited by what lies before us. Each year, we continue to strengthen and enhance our Club for the benefit of our Members, and I encourage you to explore some of the offerings we will be delivering, whether that be trivia, attending a comedy night, listening to some music on a Friday or Saturday evening, trying to win a meat raffle, enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail or having a lazy Sunday session in our backyard. Sporties is your Club, and I encourage you to make the most of your membership and try all we have on offer and then share your favourite experiences with us, as we welcome your feedback and contribution. Meet Your ALBY TAYLOR CHAIRMAN Alby is an experienced executive leader with a background across law enforcement, government, sport and industry. A former NSW Police Chief Inspector and qualified legal practitioner, he has held senior roles as a CEO, Executive Chairman, and Board Director with several major organisations. Today he serves as Chief Commissioner of the Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission, appointed by the Governor of NSW to oversee statewide regulation, integrity, and animal welfare standards. Alby brings strong governance, strategic leadership, and a steady, community-focused approach to decision making. As Chairman, he is committed to supporting the Club’s long-term stability, strengthening member engagement, and ensuring Sporties continued growth in a responsible and sustainable way.

CRAIG MCNALLY VICE CHAIRMAN Craig has over 45 years’ experience as a tradesman, specialising as a licensed plumber, and has successfully owned and operated his own plumbing business for the past 33 years. His extensive knowledge of business operations, practical problem-solving skills, and hands-on management experience provide valuable insight and guidance to the Club. As Vice Chairman, Craig supports effective decision-making, operational efficiency, and a strong focus on practical, outcome-driven solutions that benefit both members and the Club.

KEN COLEMAN DIRECTOR Ken has over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a strong background in sales leadership and specifications management. His career across the manufacturing and wholesale sectors has included working closely with Tier One architects, builders, and national engineering consultancy firms on successful project delivery. This experience supports strong strategic thinking, sound governance, and a practical approach to planning and development, helping ensure Moorebank Sports Club continues to grow sustainably for the benefit of members and the wider community.

ALLAN FACEY DIRECTOR Allan has over 20 years of experience in audit, accounting, and taxation. A registered company auditor and chartered accountant, he has been a Director of MNSA Pty Ltd for more than five years, overseeing audit and assurance engagements across a range of clubs. A member of Moorebank Sports Club for over 10 years, Allan provides strong governance, financial oversight, and risk management expertise to support the Club’s long-term sustainability.

MITCHELL HEATH DIRECTOR Mitchell has lived locally and been a member of the Club for over 20 years, reflecting his long-standing connection to the community. A family-oriented individual, he is a life member of the Moorebank Royals Baseball Club and has contributed as a player, coach, committee member, and volunteer over the past 15 years. With qualifications including a Diploma of Engineering (Electronics), an Associate Diploma in Business Management, and trade experience, Mitchell brings a strong blend of technical knowledge, management skills, and community engagement to the Club. As a director, he is committed to fostering sport in the area and ensuring quality facilities are available for the recreational enjoyment of all members.

LYNETTE KAESLER DIRECTOR Lynette brings a strong community and grassroots perspective to the Board, with many years of involvement as a Moorebank Soccer parent and volunteer. A Holsworthy resident of almost 30 years, she served 31 years with the NSW Police Force and is a recipient of the Australian Police Medal and a Justice of the Peace. With extensive experience as a director, chairperson, manager, coach and representative across multiple sporting associations, Lynette provides strong leadership, governance and a clear understanding of member and family needs at Board level.

Nomad is our new food truck , inspired by flavours that travel. True to its name, Nomad’s menu will evolve seasonally, bringing fresh, exciting tastes throughout the year. Right now, we’re serving up bold Eastern Mediterranean favourites, including juicy kebabs wrapped in Lebanese bread, classic gyros, vibrant açai bowls and a selection of sweet, irresistible desserts. Wherever Nomad goes, great flavour follows.

End of Year In early December 2025, we came together at our End-of-Year Staff Event to celebrate the incredible people who make our Club the special place it is. Each year, these awards give us the opportunity to shine a light on those who consistently go above and beyond, those who lead with heart, uphold our values, and help create a positive experience for our members and community. Sporties’ 2025 Spreading Christmas Cheer to Our Tiniest Community Members Last year, our Giving Tree appeal proudly partnered with the NICU at Liverpool Hospital, collecting gifts for babies, toddlers and primary-school-aged children to support babies in hospital care and their families during the festive season. On Tuesday 17 December we had the privilege of delivering the presents directly to the NICU ward, and we were truly overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our local community. With too many gifts to count, we estimate that more than 150 donations were received over the past month! To ensure every cot received a gift, we purchased 40 identical presents, and were delighted to see there were more than enough to go around. We hope these gifts help bring comfort, joy and a very Merry Christmas to every family supported by the NICU. Thank you to the hospital staff for their ongoing support, and our heartfelt thanks to our local community — to every person who donated and contributed to the success of this appeal. We look forward to supporting this wonderful cause again next year.

Supporting Holsworthy High School Supporting local students as they take on Australia’s toughest team challenge At Moorebank Sports Club, we are deeply committed to supporting the future of our community. As such, we were proud to support the incredible students at Holsworthy High School who took on 'The Kokoda Challenge' recently: Australia's toughest team endurance event. The Clubs sponsorship allowed the team to purchase essential trekking gear, including specialised shoes and camelbacks, and helped kickstart their fundraising efforts. Watching these young leaders gear up with confidence and determination has been truly inspiring. Sporties was honoured to be invited to the school’s Remembrance Day ceremony. Following the service, our Community Manager Alison Hester and Board Member Ken Coleman attended a luncheon where the students shared stories from their Kokoda training and expressed their gratitude for the Club’s support. Hearing firsthand how this experience is shaping their resilience and teamwork was a powerful reminder of why community partnerships matter.

Georges River Life Care Equipping Local Students for a Confident Start We were proud to support the Georges River Life Care Backpack Appeal again in 2025; donating supplies, packing bags, and serving as a local collection point for public contributions. On Thursday 11 December, our team delivered backpacks to eight primary and secondary schools in the local area. Thanks to the generosity of our staff and community, we packed and delivered 150 bags, with an additional 50 bags worth of supplies left over to be donated to local charities in the new year. This marked 2025 as our most successful year for donations! A special shoutout to Freedom Fitness, Kellie Hill, and our staff member Marcello for their significant contributions to this important cause. Also a shoutout to our Sporties representatives and GRLC volunteers who donated their time to pack or deliver bags. We hope this support helps ensure local students start the school year with confidence and the essentials they need.

COMMUNITY Raising Resilient Kids As part of Mental Health Month, we hosted our inaugural free Information Session on Raising Mentally Resilient Kids, presented by the team at Rowe & Associates. Parents and caregivers joined us to learn practical strategies for supporting their children’s emotional resilience, confidence, and wellbeing. Many parents shared that they walked away with new ideas, valuable insights, and renewed confidence in supporting their children’s mental health journey. Moorebank Sports Club is committed to continuing information sessions in the future to support our members and families.

White Cane Mingle Group White Cane Mingle, held in partnership with Cocky Guides, is a welcoming and inclusive event where people who are blind or have low vision, along with their families, friends, and supporters can connect, share experiences, and build meaningful local relationships. Attendees enjoyed a relaxed morning of conversation, community connection, and a guided orientation around the venue to help familiarise themselves with the space. Complimentary transport was also available from nearby suburbs and train stations. White Cane Mingle brings the broader community together with blind and low-vision individuals to help build meaningful social networks. Events will continue in 2026 every few months Events will continue every few months in 2026. We look forward to seeing this new community initiative grow and make a lasting impact.

HWA Volunteering Eight of our staff members had the absolute pleasure of attending the 2025 Heroes With Ability Varying Abilities Schools Gala Day, an event that truly embodies community spirit and connection. Our staff love giving back, and all returned to work with full hearts and big smiles after such a meaningful day. We’re so proud to support such a wonderful organisation and program that’s genuinely making a difference. A huge congratulations to all the participants – your determination, courage, and sportsmanship made the day truly special.

Miracle Babies – 20 year celebration and golf event We supported the Miracle Babies Golf Day fundraiser. Four members of our leadership team competed in the event, and ten staff volunteered as support crew throughout the day. We were also honoured to attend an afternoon tea and presentation recognising both World Prematurity Day and the 20-year anniversary of the Miracle Babies Foundation.

Donations and Partnerships- Local Schools We have partnered with, donated to and sponsored many of our local schools, helping with a number of end of year events and school facility developments. We are proud to be connected to our local community and support the next generation.

Lions Recycle for Sight In support of World Braille Day on January 4th, we will be supporting Lions Recycle for Sight Australia, by serving as a donor and collection point for recycling undamaged prescription or reading glasses and any unused contact lenses. Lion's receive requests from humanitarian organisations, either travelling to developing countries or shipping container loads of suitable humanitarian aid from Australia to groups in these countries. In just over 26 years, the program has delivered more than 7 million pairs of refurbished spectacles to people in need worldwide. With your help, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to this cause.

SuperTee We’re excited to begin a new partnership with SuperTee in 2026, supporting young fighters undergoing prolonged stays at Liverpool Hospital. This marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to bringing strength, comfort, and hope to little heroes and their families. Join us at our February Family Fun Day and Community Meat Raffle to help raise funds and show your support for this inspiring cause. Earlier this month, we met with the CEO of Supertee to explore partnership opportunities to support Liverpool Hospital in the new year. Supertee designs and distributes free, medical-friendly garments for children experiencing prolonged hospital stays, providing them with confidence, hope, and dignity. We hope to develop this throughout 2026; fundraising, volunteering, awareness campaigns, and supporting families locally.

SPORTING CODE Moorebank Soccer Club The 2025 season was a record year for Moorebank Soccer Club, with 1,200 players and 250 team officials making it the Club’s biggest winter season to date. Teams enjoyed strong success across the competition, including nine minor premierships and 22 grand final appearances, with female football continuing to grow through nine women’s teams competing in grand finals. The Club also received several district awards, delivered inclusive programs such as Football 4 All, and celebrated another successful year thanks to the support of volunteers, sponsors and Sporties. Registrations for the 2026 season are now open. Players under 18 who become Sporties Junior Legend members at Moorebank Sports Club will receive $50 off their registration.

Moorebank Rams Rugby League In 2025, Moorebank Rams proudly fielded 39 teams, up from 29 last year, with female participation doubling—a fantastic sign for the future of our club. Congratulations to all players selected for Canterbury Development Squads, and to our competition teams: 13 reached semi-finals, 7 made grand finals, and we celebrated 1 premiership win. Thank you to our Coaches, Managers, Trainers, sponsors, committee members, and families—your dedication keeps the Rams thriving. We were also honoured to host all Canterbury Representative Teams this year. Registrations for 2026 are now open! Moorebank Netball Club The 2025 season marked Moorebank Sports Netball Club’s 55th year, with 236 players and officials across 22 teams. Our teams achieved fantastic results: 2 Premiers, 4 Grand Finalists, 4 Finalists, 6 Semi-Finalists, and 2 unplaced. Our umpiring program also shone, with one National C Badge and two National B Badges awarded, reflecting the strength of our coaching and mentoring programs. A big thank you to our dedicated Committee, volunteers, players, officials, and Sporties for their ongoing support. Registrations for the 2026 season open 9th January! Players under 18 who become Sporties Junior Legend members at Moorebank Sports Club receive $50 off their registration. We look forward to another exciting year of netball!

Moorebank Cricket Club In 2025, Moorebank Cricket Club grew stronger than ever, with increased participation across all levels. Our Minis and Cricket Blast programs fielded 4 teams with 40 players, juniors expanded to 8 teams with 100 players—a 30% increase—and seniors competed with 3 teams. The Club ran two successful clinics, including a Junior School Holiday Clinic and a Blasters Pre-season Clinic featuring NSW player Blake Nikitaras. Thanks to the Sporties Junior Legends initiative, all Mini and Junior players received a $50 voucher toward their 2025/26 registration. On the field, highlights included undefeated premierships for the U13 Blue team, U14 Grand Final winners, and 1st/2nd Grade White minor premiers and premiers. Many other teams reached semi-finals, demonstrating depth and strong player development. Off the field, upgrades at Hammondville Reserve improved training and safety, and strong community engagement was celebrated at two well-attended presentation nights. 2025 was a year of participation, achievement, and community spirit. We thank Moorebank Sports Club for their support and look forward to building on this success in 2026.

Moorebank Baseball & Softball Club The Royals had a fantastic 23/24 season, with five junior and three senior teams performing strongly. Four teams reached finals, highlighted by our Senior League (15/16) winning their Grand Final and Saturday Seniors finishing runners-up. Several players represented Macarthur Baseball and achieved outstanding honours, including Draven Fatu & Tahlan Cavill (Australian U16), Maddison Heath (NSW Women’s League 1st Grade Hitter of the Year, Women’s Emeralds National Team, Coach of the Year), Mariam Arifaki (NSW Women’s 2nd Grade Hitter, NSW Team), Ryleigh Delacour-Batch (NSW Women’s Team), and Lachlan Brook (U23 National Team). The 24/25 season began in September with the same strong team numbers. We’re proud of our club, our talented players, and the dedication of our Committee and volunteers who make it all possible..
