The Jim Merges family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community for all of their care, love and support in the wake of the loss of our beloved husband, father, brother, grandpa and great-grandpa. The outpouring of support that we have received is such a blessing during this time of incredible grief. We’d like to say a special thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Avera Hospital in Flandreau who were with Jim in his final hours - you cared for him as though he were your own family member, and you brought comfort to our weary hearts. Thank you also to the medical team at Avera in Sioux Falls who provided excellent treatment to Jim over the past year and a half. Finally, we’d like to express our gratitude to the Skroch Funeral Chapel team that helped us honor and commemorate Jim’s life and legacy in a beautiful way.
