SHEMEKIA COPELAND F | Shemekia est une fille de Harlem… et du guitariste Blues Johnny Copeland. Elle grandit dans l’ère du Hip-hop mais choisit le Blues pour s’exprimer. Bonne pioche ! Encensée par DownBeat Magazine elle est aussi récemment nominée aux Blues Music Awards dans la catégorie Contemporary Female Blues Artist, avant d’être sacrée « Queen of the Blues », reprenant les honneurs portés par feu son amie Koko Taylor. E | Shemekia is a daughter of Harlem…and of Blues guitarist Johnny Copeland. Growing up in the Hip-hop era, Shemekia chose the Blues to express herself—luckily for us! Praised by DownBeat magazine, she was also recently nominated for the Blues Music Awards in the category Contemporary Female Blues Artist. She was subsequently crowned “Queen of the Blues”, taking up the mantle of her dearly departed friend, Koko Taylor.
