Honorary Membership Award

It is always a pleasure to receive honorary members into the FFA. The purpose of this ceremony is to recognize, from time to time, the efforts of others on our behalf. The chapter started the tradition of having each state degree recipient nominate one person who has been influential in their FFA career, and to recognize their mentorship and support. Honorary Membership: farmers, school superintendents, principals, members of boards of education, chapter advisors, teachers, staff members in agriculture education, business people, and others who are helping to advance agriculture education and the FFA, and who have rendered outstanding service, may be elected to honorary membership by a majority vote of the members present at any regular meeting or convention.

The Workhorse Award

FFA members are known for many traits. If you asked a community member or employer to describe an FFA member, you would always hear something about their work ethic. Union FFA members are known for their commitment to working hard and their willingness to jump in and get something done. The advisors wanted to highlight that personality trait by awarding the Workhorse Award. This award goes to a student who exemplifies what it means to be a hard worker.
