Art Explorers Camp

Coed Grades 2-5

Instructor, Christie Blatchley

Art Explorers Camp is a fun, hands-on summer camp designed to spark creativity and curiosity in young artists. Each day, students will explore a different art medium and learn new techniques through engaging, age-appropriate projects.

Campers will experiment with painting, create ceramic pinch pots, design prints using foam plates, build imaginative collages, and try simple weaving.

Throughout the week, students will be introduced to foundational art skills such as color mixing, texture, pattern, shape, and composition. Lessons are structured to be supportive and encouraging so that both confident artists and beginners feel successful. The focus is on exploration, effort, and creative thinking rather than perfection.

Projects are designed to promote problem-solving, independence, and pride in craftsmanship. Students will have opportunities to make choices about colors was, designs, and personal themes so each piece reflects their own ideas and personality. Camp routines include short demonstrations, guided work time, movement breaks, and group sharing so the environment stays positive, organized, and engaging.

By the end of the week, each camper will have a collection of finished artwork to take home. We will celebrate their hard work with a mini art show for families, where students can display their favorite pieces and share what they learned during the week.
