The Veterans Group as a whole meets weekly on Wednesday mornings for fellowship, breakfast, and to just joke around

Still only 17, Montgomery County’s own Payton County’s Riley with state and national awards to her credit, as well as appearances on national television in Nashville and numerous other states, not to mention two overseas tours to the UK and Ireland; it's amazing that she has time to sit down andcomposenewmaterial at all She recently appeared on a Saturday night at Frank Jackson’s The Table at Madeley in downtown Conroe, giving her hometown fans a release party of her latest song ‘Rainmaker,’ a song about a disappointing relationship.

Jefferson, Texas was foundedin1841andonthe firstweekendofMayeach year civil war reenactors converge on this quaint, east Texas town for the reenactment of the Battle of Jefferson. I was introduced to this pilgrimage nine years ago by Doug and RJOAElaine Collings shortly after I joined the United Daughters of the Confederacy(UDC).Since then, it has become a mainstay event in early spring for me and my husband,Jim.

The weekend began with check-in at the Excelsior Hotel which has been continuously in operation since 1858.
