The national average is down 8.6 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 50.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. Historical gasoline prices in Texas and the national average going back ten years: May 12, 2024: $3.14/g (U.S. Average: $3.58/g) May 12, 2023: $3.07/g (U.S. Average: $3.51/g) May 12, 2022: $4.10/g (U.S. Average: $4.43/g) May 12, 2021: $2.73/g (U.S. Average: $3.01/g) May 12, 2020: $1.52/g (U.S. Average: $1.85/g) May 12, 2019: $2.57/g (U.S. Average: $2.85/g) May 12, 2018: $2.63/g (U.S. Average: $2.87/g) May 12, 2017: $2.16/g (U.S. Average: $2.33/g) May 12, 2016: $1.98/g (U.S. Average: $2.20/g) May 12, 2015: $2.46/g (U.S. Average: $2.66/g) Neighboring areas and their current gas prices: Midland Odessa- $2.75/g, up 15.7 cents per gallon from last week's $2.59/g. San Antonio- $2.72/g, up 14.8 cents per gallon from last week's $2.57/g. Austin- $2.74/g, up 13.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.61/g. "Even with oil prices jumping more than $4 per barrel compared to last week, the n a tio n al av er ag e p r ice o f gasoline has resumed its decline as refineries wrap up seasonal maintenance and prepare to boost output," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "Forty states have seen average gasoline prices fall over the last week, while just ten have seen increases—most notably on the West Coast, where another refinery fire in Northern California once again disrupted gasoline production. As we approach Memorial Day, gas prices may see some minor fluctuations, but for now, I don't expect any significant changes to the national average, with prices staying near their lowest seasonal level since 2021." CONROE, TEXAS – Lamar Casparis does not like to be the center of attention, but when it comes to thanking those who helped save his life, he

On an investigation a d v e n t u r e f o r Te x a s History, the COLLINGS FAMILY traveled to the Tip of Texas searching for the Marker of the Last Battle of the Civil War: “Battle of Palmito Ranch”, WHERE T E X A S CONFEDERATES WON! But the War ended a Month before and the armies had not received the news, which does not diminish the significance of this Battle in our History. In the wild regular winds of the “South Texas Breezes”, the Founder/Charter President of Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 of the United Daughter Of The Confederacy: ELAINE COLLINGS, and her Husband: DOUG COLLINGS of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans: the Major General Patrick C l e b u r n e ’s 7 t h Te x a s Infantry Camp, and Officer in the Military Order of the Stars and Bars of the Houston Chapter, and their Son CLEVE COLLINGS: descendant of 16 “Proved” Confederate Family Ancestors (and many more waiting to be “proved”), went in search of the last Confederate Battle of the Civil War. They never expected this trip to turn into the wild adventure it did! Armed with “GPS” a n d s e v e r a l d i ff e r e n t opinions in the car of where they thought the general direction was, they struck out in search of this important history that ELAINE COLLINGS said she was never taught about in school. Although ELAINE COLLINGS is a College Graduate and grew up in the paradise of the Rio Grande Valley (as she describes it back then), she said she was never taught about this “Important Historical Battle” on her own Texas/United States Border! At one time there were even 5 different Countries ALL with Armies along the Rio Grande River, all at the same time! The Rio Grande River Border has always been an important “Boundary” in o u r Te x a s H i s t o r y ! ELAINE said, she learned about these Only After she Graduated from the University and became a Member of All her Genealogy Groups, - as that’s when she REALLY G O T E D U C AT E D ! ELAINE recommends everyone “eligible” for a Genealogy Group should all follow their Family History and investigate “their path” to know their See SpaceX, page 2
