Austin- $2.80/g, up 14.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.65/g. “The national average price of gasoline has continued its gentle descent over the last week, with the most notable declines seen in the Great Lakes region, where a minor refinery issue was resolved, sending wholesale gas prices lower," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at G a s B u d d y . " We ' r e a l s o beginning to see prices retreat in California, a trend that should soon extend across much of the We s t C o a s t a s a d d i t i o n a l gasoline shipments from Asia help offset recent refinery disruptions. While gasoline inventories remain somewhat tight heading into the summer, I’m optimistic that increased refinery output could pave the way for further price declines. That said, any unexpected outages could still cause shortterm price bumps." SOURCE GasBuddy

MCTXSheriff Investigates Officer Involved Shooting On May 30, 2025 at approximately 11:40 pm, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a white late model Jaguar in South M o n t g o m e r y C o u n t y. During the traffic stop, the driver of the Jaguar, a 53 year old white male, fled the scene and a second Deputy engaged in a pursuit, assisted by Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Officers with the Shenandoah Police Department deployed tire deflation devices, which led to the driver stopping on the on-ramp to FM 1488. The suspect exited the vehicle with a firearm, and the deputy fired multiple shots, striking the suspect. Additional units arrived on scene and provided emergency medical treatment to the suspect, who was transported to a local hospital where he is in critical but stable condition. An investigation into this incident is being conducted by the MCSO Major Crimes Unit, MCSO Crime Scene, Montgomery County DA’s Office, and the Texas Rangers.
