San Antonio- $2.58/g, down 21.7 cents per gallon from last week's $2.79/g. Austin- $2.62/g, down 18.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.80/g. “ Av e r a g e g a s p r i c e s declined in nearly all states over the last week as refineries ramped up output and gasoline supplies surged,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “While a few states experienced price cycling—a pattern where prices drop sharply and then spike every couple of weeks—the overall gentle downward trend is typical as summer progresses. If oil prices continue to rise gradually, it could eventually impact gas prices, but for now, we likely won’t see any major shifts at the pump in most areas this week.” SOURCE GasBuddy

In a continuing MCN news story about a local Vi e t n a m E r a Ve t e r a n Helicopter Pilot who has been threatened with eviction by management at The Heritage Seniors apartments on Flagship Boulevard in Montgomery, has now been issued with a 2nd Eviction Notice dated 6/2/2025, following the dismissal of his case on 4/23/2025 due to a technicality in filing the original case. The current action, instituted by apartment manager Rosie Perez, representing The Heritage Seniors apartments as the plaintiff, is located behind The Montgomery Trace Shopping Center. The Eviction Citation was signed by Precinct Five Justice of the Peace, Judge Matt Madsen, and was hand delivered to the defendant, Mr Larry Bates, on the afternoon of the 5th, a full three days after the case was resubmitted to the court. The trial date is set for June 17th, at the Justice Court, located at 19100 Unity Park Drive, in Magnolia. Since the last report, the dishwasher, at the heart of the issue, which was removed from the apartment when Mr Bates was in the hospital for a surgery late last year, has been replaced. The original ploy to evict the Ve t e r a n w a s f o r infestation, which proved unfounded, then Ms Perez’s office started refusing to accept his checks since February, some payment attempts witnessed by his friends and even MCN. Heritage Senior's refusal to accept payments from Mr Bates has resulted in almost $2,000 dollars in uncollected payments by the company, which is the reason for the grounds of the eviction, as noted on the company's eviction petition. “I’m very thankful for the support I’ve received f r o m t h e Ve t e r a n s organizations and my lawyer,” said Mr Bates. “The whole ordeal has been very stressful, and I’m looking forward to a conclusion.” Mr Bates has been under threat of eviction since January, when he was presented with from Ms Perez’s office: ‘Notice to Va c a t e f o r N o n Delinquency Breach of Lease or Unauthorized See Bates, page 2
