The lowest price in the state yesterday was $1.92/g while the highest was $3.95/g, a difference of $2.03/g. The national average price of gasoline has fallen 0.8 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.73/g today. The national average is down 17.0 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 28.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. Historical gasoline prices in Texas and the national average going back five years: January 12, 2025: $2.66/g (U.S. Average: $3.02/g) January 12, 2024: $2.64/g (U.S. Average: $3.07/g) January 12, 2023: $2.83/g (U.S. Average: $3.25/g) January 12, 2022: $2.89/g (U.S. Average: $3.31/g) January 12, 2021: $2.04/g (U.S. Average: $2.34/g) Neighboring areas and their current gas prices: Midland Odessa- $2.38/g, up 15.6 cents per gallon from last week's $2.23/g. San Antonio- $2.19/g, down 21.3 cents per gallon from last week's $2.40/g. Austin- $2.24/g, down 17.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.42/g. “Gas prices nationally saw little change over the last week, though several pricecycling states did experience notable jumps,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “The good news is that once prices rise in these markets, they often retreat for a week or longer afterward. While the situation in Venezuela has dominated headlines, it’s far too early for any measurable impact on what consumers are paying at the pump— whether prices go up or down— as it would likely take years to see a meaningful increase in oil output there. For now, gas prices remain seasonally lower, but with oil prices inching higher, the national average could soon see some limited upward movement.” SOURCE GasBuddy

Authorities are now seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect, Justin Bowman. The investigation b e g a n w h e n AT T F Detectives and TXDPS Agents tracked Bowman, who had an outstanding felony warrant for Unauthorized Use of a M o t o r Ve h i c l e i n Montgomery County, to a specific location. During surveillance, agents observed the suspect preparing to leave the premises. As ATTF Detectives and Deputies from the Harris County Pct. 4 C o n s t a b l e ’s O ff i c e attempted to intercept the suspect, Bowman fled the location in a truck towing a trailer containing an additional vehicle. This initiated a vehicle pursuit led by Pct. 4 Constables. The pursuit concluded when the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Despite an extensive search, the suspect remains at large. Upon securing the scene, investigators confirmed that the truck driven by the suspect had been reported stolen out of Harris County three days prior. Further inspection revealed that both the trailer and the vehicle it was carrying were also stolen. A subsequent investigation led to the
