Texas Ag Commish Sid Miller UPDATE Weekly Visits with North Shore MCTX Sheriff Gas Prices Investigates Republican Women, Shooting on

Average gasoline prices in Texas have risen 14.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.84/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 16.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 36.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 3.6 cents in the last week and stands at $3.594 per gallon. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Texas was priced at $2.39/g yesterday while the most expensive was $3.69/g, a difference of $1.30/g. The lowest price in the state yesterday was $2.39/g while the highest was $3.69/g, a difference of $1.30/g. The national average price of gasoline has risen 10.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.21/g today. The national average is up 13.2 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 35.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. Historical gasoline prices in Texas and the national average going back ten years: April 7, 2024: $3.20/g (U.S. Average: $3.57/g) April 7, 2023: $3.23/g (U.S. Average: $3.58/g) April 7, 2022: $3.73/g (U.S. Average: $4.14/g) April 7, 2021: $2.61/g (U.S. Average: $2.87/g) April 7, 2020: $1.67/g (U.S. Average: $1.89/g) April 7, 2019: $2.48/g (U.S. Average: $2.74/g) April 7, 2018: $2.41/g (U.S. Average: $2.66/g) April 7, 2017: $2.20/g (U.S. Average: $2.39/g) April 7, 2016: $1.86/g (U.S. Average: $2.04/g) April 7, 2015: $2.20/g (U.S. Average: $2.38/g) Neighboring areas and their current gas prices: Midland Odessa- $2.90/g, up 19.8 cents per gallon from last week's $2.70/g. San Antonio- $2.84/g, up 22.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.61/g. Austin- $2.85/g, up 20.4 cents per gallon from last week's $2.64/g. "While the national average price of gasoline saw its largest weekly gain of the year, it likely won’t last long, as oil prices have plummeted amid growing concerns about the global economy following the U.S. announcement of some of the most significant tariffs in over a century, along with OPEC+ restoring oil production faster than anticipated," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "In addition to falling oil prices, the stock market has dropped sharply, and the risk of a recession has increased— raising the likelihood of reduced global energy and oil demand, which is sending prices lower. As a result, motorists can expect gas prices to begin falling nearly coast-to-coast, with oil now at its lowest level since the early days of the pandemic in 2021. If tariffs aren’t scaled back soon, the national average could fall below $3 per gallon in the weeks ahead, with no clear indication of how long it might stay there as market volatility persists." Recounts Butler PA Shooting, Annouces Re-Election Bid Angus by Ruben Borjas, Jr MONTGOMERY, TX — Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller addressed The North Shore Republican Women this past Wednesday at the Bentwater Country Club . NSRW President Tammy Coleman welcomed Miller and his staff to the luncheon to enlighten the ladies on the functions of the Texas Agriculture Commission, which are quite extensive. As usual, The NSRW Ladies filled the ballroom with a Sea of Red, as they continued to plan for their 2025 9th Annual Golf Tournament, Auction, and Dinner. This year's theme is ‘United We Stand,’ with the tournament scheduled for September 29, 2025. The ladies are also celebrating 25th Years of Service to the community. Funds raised by events such as the tournament go the numerous charitable efforts the NSRW commits themselves to throughout the years, such as promoting literacy in schools, helping Senior Citizens at the Friendship Center in Willis, preparing toiletry bags for charities that assist the homeless; as well as providing scholarships to deserving

students, and providing backpacks of food to hungry kids, and donating funds to the MC Food Bank. Following the monthly meeting and lunch, Ag Commissioner Miller addressed those gathered at the country club. His family has been farming and ranching in Texas for eight generations, and has been involved with agriculture his whole life, whether it be growing up on the land, graduating college with a vocational Ag degree; to teaching Ag in school, working the land, to first being elected the Texas House of Representatives 25 years ago. Miller has always been a staunch d e f e n d e r o f Te x a s agriculture, as well as our freedoms and liberties that we have in Our Fair State. Sid was first elected as the 12th Texas Agriculture Commissioner in 2014 and has won subsequent reelections receiving record numbers of votes than any candidate for the office in history. Miller is all about common sense, and has taken steps to reduce the time to obtain organic certification for farmers. He has reshaped field operations to improve
