Average gasoline prices in Texas have fallen 16.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.61/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 0.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 96.3 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has decreased 11.7 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $5.500 per gallon. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Texas was priced at $2.89/g yesterday while the most expensive was $5.11/g, a difference of $2.22/g. The lowest price in the state yesterday was $2.89/g while the highest was $5.11/g, a difference of $2.22/g. The national average price of gasoline has fallen 9.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.97/g today. Children Montgomery County, Texas — A Montgomery County man has been arrested and charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor following an investigation by the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. In April 2026, Sgt. J. Serratt of the Precinct 1 ICAC Unit received a complaint alleging that an Uber driver had sent sexually explicit images to an u n d e r a g e m i n o r. T h e investigation revealed that the driver, later identified as Josiah Carroll, had exchanged personal contact information with the minor during the ride; a contact that was subsequently used to transmit the explicit material. Based on evidence developed during the investigation, Sgt. Serratt obtained an arrest warrant for Carroll. Carroll was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor, a second-degree felony under Texas law by Precinct 1 Deputies. As the investigation progressed, law enforcement identified a potential second victim. A detective with the Magnolia Police Department, also assigned to the Montgomery County I C A C Ta s k F o r c e , h a d independently received a complaint from another parent regarding a similar incident involving their minor child and the same U b e r d r i v e r. B a s e d o n evidence uncovered during the complaint, Mr. Carroll was charged with Solicitation of Prostitution of a Minor. Investigators are urging anyone who may have had contact with Carroll through a rideshare service, social media, or other means to come forward. Precinct 1 Constable Cash and Magnolia Police Chief Montgomery urge parents to use caution when allowing minors to utilize rideshare programs and to speak with their children about the dangers of online predators.
