"Seasonal trends continue to push down gasoline prices across m u c h o f t h e c o u n t r y, w i t h GasBuddy counting 26 states where average gas prices have fallen below $3 per gallon—something that could be less than a week away for the national average," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "While much of the attention this week will be on the election and how it could potentially change the trajectory of the nation, gasoline prices are likely to be a gift to the next president, staying much lower than in previous years when COVID and Russia's war on Ukraine caused a surge that’s unlikely to repeat, no matter who w i n s t h e e l e c t i o n . F o r n o w, Americans can expect the downward trend to continue in most states, while other states have seen prices jump temporarily due to a behavior we track called price cycling. We should see the number of states with sub-$3-per-gallon prices grow as we get closer to Thanksgiving." With just days to go before the U.S. Presidential Election, how are gas prices looking in the major battleground states? The ladies who led the Montgomery County effort to send supplies to North Carolina for Hurricane Helene relief last month, visited the Veterans at the Lone Star Honor Flight Ve t e r a n s C l u b ( 1 0 5 ) recently, at one of their We d n e s d a y w e e k l y breakfast meetings. Sarah Bartholet Gwin, of

Bartholet Home Furnishings, along with her mother Kim Bartholet, were on hand spending time with the Veterans, and thanking them for their service. It was in early October when Sarah Bartholet Gwin, the daughter of the store owner Todd, realized that the trucks coming to the Conroe store weekly from North Carolina could

be used to ferry supplies back to the hurricane victims in the western part of the storm ravaged state. So she put the word out via social media, and stuff started rolling into their shop. The response was so extraordinary that two whole tractor trailers were filled and shipped before mid-October. Since then another half trailer of supplies have been sent.

“We do have plans for a toy drive for the children who were affected by Hurricane Helene,” said Sarah Bartholet Gwin. “But the details of logistics, and recipient locations are still being ironed out.” Gwin went on to say that as soon as she has finalized details, a call for toys will be announced.

Journey Around the World this Christmas Conroe, Texas - The Conroe Symphony Orchestra (CSO) invites you to embark on a festive global adventure with their upcoming holiday concert, "Christmas Around the World" on December 14. The orchestra will fill Conroe's community with melodies inspired by Christmas traditions from across the globe, celebrating the beauty and diversity of the season through music. Under the baton of Music Director Gary Liebst, the program promises both cherished carols and rare international selections. “We'll be sharing music that celebrates the many wonderful holiday traditions around the world. From the origins of decorating a Christmas tree to the roots of Christmas carols, we'll explore the countries where these traditions began and celebrate their influence on our American Christmas,” Liebst said. “Some traditions are religious, others secular, and we're going to have a grand time presenting both.” Among the beloved classics, concertgoers will also experience two special pieces. German-born mezzo-soprano Sonja Bruzauskas will perform Koppången, a Swedish song whose beautiful melody and winter imagery evoke scenes of a snow-covered church in a quiet country town. Trained on both sides of the Atlantic, Sonja has an expansive stage career in musical theater, opera, and oratorio, and she frequently performs as a concert singer and recitalist. Her work spans institutions like Rice U n i v e r s i t y, L S U , Vanderbilt, CalArts, and the University of Houston, along with numerous health and cultural institutions. “Sonja brings authenticity and a deep emotional connection to each piece she performs, and we're thrilled to have her voice gracing our holiday concert,” Liebst said. Joining Sonja on stage will be soprano Annie Voorhees, a 15-year-old sensation from St. John's School, and tuba soloist Roberto Gaitan, a finalist in the Young Texas Artist Competition. “Annie and Roberto are sensational talents, and we're excited to showcase their artistry,” Liebst said. True to tradition, the orchestra's concert will also feature a lively singalong, including a newly arranged piece by Dan Goeller. “We've received so many requests for the audience sing-along, and I'm thrilled to continue this holiday tradition,” Liebst
