San Antonio- $3.12/g, up 16.2 cents per gallon from last week's $2.96/g. Austin- $3.10/g, up 13.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.97/g. "With the transition to more expensive summer gasoline underway coast to coast, wholesale gasoline prices continue to inch up at a rate typical for this time of year, reflected in the national average rising for the second straight week," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "While oil prices edged slightly lower on weaker outlooks for economic growth, continued refinery maintenance and the higher cost of seasonal blends of fuel are offsetting oil's decline. The price of diesel, however, continues to slowly decline as we see consumption for diesel lighten up. The best news for both gasoline and diesel prices is how significant a drop we've seen from year-ago levels, with more disinflation to come in the weeks ahead, even as gas prices are likely to inch up." The N.H. Davis Museum was teeming with v i s i t o r s o n S a t u r d a y, March 4, for several hours that beautiful spring-like day. The Montgomery Historical Society invited the Montgomery City Officials, merchants, local chamber members, and tourists to stop by this 1850's pioneer home which was originally just a oneroom log cabin inhabited by Montgomery's first Mayor, Nathaniel Hart Davis. This event was scheduled to be near the birthdates of Sam Houston and Dr. Charles B. Stewart, the designer of the Texas flag who lived in Montgomery when R e p u b l i c o f Te x a s President, Mirabeau Lamar, signed his approval of his design--now the most recognized U.S. state flag throughout the world! Also being celebrated is the City of Montgomery's 185th year! The Old Montgomery Steakhouse owner and Navy Veteran, Wayne Kung, provided coffee, fruit drinks and his famous, huge breakfast tacos to add to the lighter breakfast snacks provided by the Society. This restaurant has been in business here for more than 25 years, providing the small town cafe atmosphere with great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The timing for the Open House was set early
