Welcome to the Summer Term Monkton Community events programme 2026

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Summer term What’s On Guide. The Summer is always a packed term full of a whole host of activities and events for our Monkton Community to look forward to, culminating with our fantastic End of Year Celebrations.

The beautiful Monkton Valley will once again set the backdrop for a drama performance, this year being ‘Wild Myths’ from our Senior School students. We also look forward to The Open, our Year 8 Play, and performances at various concerts.

To close out the year, pupils from the Prep and Senior School, together with All Hallows, will come together for one of the highlights of the summer calendar, The Longmead Music Festival. Prize Giving celebrations and leavers’ ceremonies for Nursery to Year 13, will follow, along with other creative end of year exhibitions taking place across both sites, including an Expressive Arts week at the Prep and annual Art Show at the Senior.

The sports calendar is packed with rowing, cricket, athletics, swimming and tennis. Our boat crews will be on the water hoping for success at the National Schools Regatta and to qualify once again for the Henley Royal Regatta. We are delighted to host the IAPS National Triathlon for the fourth year, as well as our own ‘Try-athlon’ for the whole Prep School. Our Senior Sports Day will take place at University of Bath for the fourth consecutive year, with all parents invited to watch what is always a fun but competitive event.

It is the term for residential trips with many in the Prep Upper School getting the opportunity

to embark on adventures and make lasting memories. And after months of preparation, our Senior School students will be heading off on their Mountain Challenge and DofE expeditions.

As always, we wish our Year 11 and 13 pupils the very best with their GCSE and A Level exams, and I look forward to meeting many of you and celebrating the past year at these upcoming events.
