Compared with other I/O product families, Mini Cool Edge (MCIO) connectors and cable assemblies offer increased flexibility by providing multiple circuit options. MCIO connectors and cables were designed to be used across many types of applications. They meet PCIe standards up to PCIe Generation 6 with high-speed data transmission rates. Reliable product quality enables high-volume purchasing for enterprise servers or storage data center customers that expect to transmit data to external device systems across a multitude of protocols.
How does this product create value for our customers?
MCIO anti-slant design and contact protection with optional pull-tab design ensures high-quality signal integrity performance. Helping data centers optimize space and density to meet AI-driven demands for increased capacity and performance, the MMC system leverages a very small form factor (VSFF) design to achieve higher density within the same footprint. MMC Cable Assemblies and Adapters are available with 16 or 24 fibers, providing higher cabling port density and low loss performance in a compact design to support highbandwidth applications.

Quasar OptiX Field-Mountable Connectors (FMCs) are new additions to the existing line of Molex outside plant (OSP) products, designed for use in optical connectivity applications subject to outdoor environmental conditions. FMCs enable installers in the field to quickly and easily install optical connectors on cables with minimal training and tooling.

Adding a connector position assurance (CPA) option to the Mega-Fit, Nano-Fit and Ultra-Fit product families to address mating retention force concerns related to the angle of insertion and/or extraction. Wires and housing must be on the same plane for insertion and extraction – if the cable is slightly bent, the latch strength is weakened causing mating difficulties. The CPA option provides an effective, low-cost solution to help prevent faulty mating, which can lead to poor connections causing safety hazards, power loss and equipment damage. With the CPA option, customers can avoid system downtime and ensure their electrical connections are secure for enhanced reliability.
