THE BEST PLACE FOR A MEETING IS A CONCERT HALL

The building date back to 1901, and by the early 2000s they were in need of a thorough renovation before the dream of a concert hall could become a reality.

FROM THE OPERA TO HORSE STABLES AND A JAGUAR GARAGE MOGENS DAHL is conductor at heart, born and raised in the very North of Denmark. He has taught at the Conservatoire in both Aarhus and Aalborg and served as choir director and conductor at the Jutland Opera. He arrived in Copenhagen in the early 2000s with a burning passion to establish his own concert hall in a city that offered new musical territories and entirely different possibilities for the creative entrepreneur. Since 2005, he has run MOGENS DAHL CONCERT HALL under his own name — mainly because he was told it would bring him the greatest success. His original idea was to call it The Institute for Choir, Music & Conducting, but that wasn’t exactly the catchiest of names. Regardless of the name, what once served as a horse stable, a Jaguar garage and a paint shop for “Vintage Cars” is today a conference venue accommodating up to 150 guests in each hall. Here we host everything from daytime meetings and conference dinners to corporate celebrations and private parties. Located in a historic part of Copenhagen and framed by an atmospheric cobblestone courtyard, the venue has a truly distinctive feel. You almost forget how close you are to the city centre. The buildings have been carefully renovated with respect for their original architecture and the site’s unique history. Each hall has its own aesthetic and character, with a strong emphasis on acoustics and natural light throughout. The atmosphere is both classic and creative, encouraging everyone to step outside the ordinary, deliver something exceptional, think anew and create the extraordinary. SET THE SCENE IN THE STABLE CONCERT HALL is the former horse stable and porter’s residence of the renowned Hertz Printing House, which was based on the site for many years. Today, the hall offers modern technical facilities for hosting meetings, conferences and celebrations. The room is equipped with a 136” LED screen and AV technology that meets most requirements. Our acoustics are so good that many speakers prefer to present without additional headsets. CONCERT HALL also includes a 30 m² balcony and an adjoining foyer that can be used as a break area or for breakout sessions. In the foyer, you can enjoy our Hall of Fame, featuring images of many of the world-class classical artists and cultural figures who have performed at MOGENS DAHL CONCERT HALL over the years.

FULL FOCUS IN TOP GEAR GARAGE was originally a vintage Jaguar workshop. In 2022, the hall underwent a complete renovation by architects Gemma Lalanda and Frank Maali, who also refurbished the other buildings on the site in the mid-2000s. The exterior of the hall is defined by clean architectural lines and large streetlevel windows that can open on both sides, allowing even very large items to be brought in for product launches and similar events. Inside, the space offers a striking contrast of light and darkness, with ironclad walls, a specially crafted brick ceiling and a beautifully integrated light channel — all bearing witness to the area’s industrial past. Both the hall’s acoustics and its distinctive natural light make simply being in GARAGE an experience in its own right. The hall is equipped with modern digital technology, including a tablet for easy and intuitive control of all installations, a live-streaming setup, and a sound system built directly into the iron-clad walls.

A LITTLE EXTRA... If you close your eyes, you can almost smell the North Sea. It is no coincidence that our ROOFTOP is designed with silver-grey, weathered cedarwood, mountain pines and grasses reminiscent of the heathlands in the North of Denmark. MOGENS DAHL was born and raised in the landscape of Northern Denmark — and he has brought a small piece of it with him to Islands Brygge. ROOFTOP is our elegant rooftop terrace, where you can enjoy bubbles and snacks while taking in views over Copenhagen’s rooftops. Here you can breathe in the fresh air during breaks or feel your shoulders drop after a long day. You can treat your clients, colleagues or board members to a terrace that offers a little bit extra. You can host exclusive receptions, use it as a coffee bar or simply end your meeting day in style and with good vibrations.

A PART OF THE EXPERIENCE Our Head Chef, Peter Ingeberg, prepares all our menus from scratch using fresh ingredients on the very day they are served - whether it is a delicious lunch buffet for a daytime meeting or a five-course menu for a conference dinner. The dishes served at Mogens Dahl Concert Hall are created exclusively for our venue. The menus draw inspiration from the Mediterranean cuisine, interpreted through a personal Nordic lens with influences from Japan or the Middle East. Every dish is built on quality ingredients - olive oils, herbs, vegetables and citrus - which form the foundation of the flavours and textures. Ingeberg’s Kitchen focuses on organic production, choosing local vegetables whenever possible, and sustainably sourced or responsibly farmed fish and poultry. Above all, it is about food made with care and consideration, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare. All menus served to our guests are tailored to each event according to season, theme, number of guests and occasion, ensuring that you receive precisely the dining experience you are looking for - and our aim is for everyone to leave with a memorable culinary experience.
