From the editor Issue 34 - April 2018 Modellenland Magazine is a fresh, new submissionbased editorial publication that celebrates the true art of fashion and the emerging artists behind it. Modellenland is a Free Belgian magazine but we accept also entries from other countries.

Can you tell us a little about you? Hi! I'm Miruna, I'm 20 years old and I am a Rumenian girl with russian origins. I left my place when i was just 5 years old and i have joined ,with my Brother, my parents in Italy. Now i live in Rome,I love so much this city for the beauty and for the people i have met thanks to this place. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Mmmh ,there is something that i would change about myself. I'm really emotionally to people,even if i don't denmostrate it,and i think i should be more dipendent just from myself and not from Others who i love. How did you start modeling? The truth...it started from my mother,she is one of these mothers who hasn't the possibility to do anything like this and it's for that she wanted me to have the chance to do many things and find my way. So she pushed me in this world;at the beginning i wasn't convinced, but just a little time after, I realized that it could be really something that i want so badly in my life. What do you think of the work as a model? It's a really challenging work,because you are struggling between what you are. You are discovering yourself ,before with your exteriority and then with what it is in your inside. So much people thinks that models don't do anything and also that it's a simple thing, but it's not. You should have a teamwork spirit,be yourself and surely have the passion in doing it. What is your beauty regimen? I don't really have one,and every periode i change it,but for now it's important to me to have a great breakfast in the morning,always clean my face and cuddle it with hydrated cream,and make yoga,In this period i love so much yoga because it relaxes all my body and my mind and it's good for starting a great day. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I'm really simple like a girl. One thing that descrives me better is that I'm an instinctive person and i think it could be both,a bad and good thing,because i express all i have inside (not Always in the best way)and i never regret something. I am also a little strange,or we can say different, because sometimes i see things or i notice them in a really different way from Others. What are your plans for the future? Hopefully to make my dream real,becoming a model, and who can say it ,a topmodel! So i will work hard for that . Other plans are to travel,I Always love to travel and change place having around new people,places,cultures...I would Always stay far from my home.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far? My important experiences were at first the different shootings that i have worked to,all of them,because each one brought me to this point. Also my travels which changed me like a person,from a closed one to an open one. The last one it was dancing;i have danced for 15 years and it was one of my child passion and it will be Always part of me.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? I think that each one has his way and so everyone has to create it ,i know it's difficult but it's like that. Model: Gloria Foglietti MUA: Rosa Bacchi Can you tell us a little about you? I’m Arianna Ceccarelli, a 24 year-old photographer from Rome, Italy. I got a degree in languages and I hope to become a professional photographer in the future. I also love music, cinematography and graphic design and one of my dreams is travelling around the world. How and when did you get into photography? When I was 16 and I random saw the pictures taken by my ex cousin’s girlfriend. She had a dark and gothic style, maybe too photoshopped, but thanks to her I started to see photography as I way of expressing my emotions, myself, my inner world or my dreams, not just a mean to remember things or places we visit during holidays. What does photography mean to you? To make everything real. It’s the only simple way of expressing myself. I’m shy so I can’t easily express what I think, want or dream. Photography is the perfect means. - 16 -

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. First of all I love portraits. Any kind of portrait. I started with simple portraits, then I moved to a conceptual, romantic, fairy and drammatic style, and now I’m more concerned with the fashion world. I love mixing the conceptual style with the fashion one, just like the photographer Tim Walker. Where do you get inspiration from? I love music, litera-ture and cinematography, so most of the time my photos are inspired to them. But I also tend to portrait my inner world into photography, especially in fine art or conceptual photos. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Yes, most of the time, but sometimes I like improvising.

Studio, on location or both? Maybe I prefer locations but only if they are well-thought-out and are perfectly coherent with the concept of the photoshoot. I love creating settings into the studio for fashion photoshoots, not using just a single and flat background. They’re better with portraits.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Nikon! I guess the Nikkor 85mm f/1.8, but I also love using my Sigma Art 24mm f/1.4 for fashion photography to create strange, abstract and distorted photos making the models look like they got really long legs.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I’m not a professionial photographer but either a hobbyist because I often work as a photographer and I get paid. I think I’m a sort of mix between the two. I started as a hobbyist, or better a photography lover, and I’ve been trying to become a professionist by the time, but the road is long. I’m really critical so I won’t easily define myself a professionist.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Be original, believe in youself and never give up, even if it’s hard and you’ll be rejected so many times. We all have been through it.

What has been your most memorable session and why? Maybe the last one I did, but I haven’t already publish it (because of the magazine’s exlusive). It’s a really good fashion serie, with a strong concept and amazing compositions and color choices. I look forward to showing it to you all!

What do you think of our new magazine? It’s pretty good. I think it could improve itself and get more popular.

Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Nika and I’m 20 years old witch from Poland. Im in love with Norse and Slavic mythology, folk, nature, magic and fantasy world. I am also beginner makeup artist. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? My explosive temperament. I get angry very often and it’s just tiring. I also wouldn't like to be such an emotional person. How did you start modeling? By accident. I have never wanted to me a model, I wanted to be a photographer. My (now ex) boyfriend had a SLR camera, nikon D3000, it was my first contact with a “good camera” and I was something like: “Wow, what a quality, I have to make a shoot!”. I had a lot of ideas but I didn’t have friends to shoot, so I thought that I will pose and my boyfriend can shoot me. And then I fell in love with posing. I did a lot of sessions, I had a lot of haters (really, a lot!) but well, I didn’t care. Not long after that I started getting a lot of shoots offer and this is how I start modeling. What do you think of the work as a model? I just love it! Contrary to appearances, its really hard work, but it’s always worth it. Somethimes I am tired by long travels, sleepy because I had to get up at 3:00am to be on time for train, starved because I didn’t have time for eat but.. it does no matter when I go back home, I lie in my warm bed and I see new mail on ma inbox and see the effects of my work. It’s just amazing feeling. Work as a model also give me a chace to meet fantastic people, with some of them I became a friends, I can work with animals, sleep in palaces, travel to places I would never see as a “normal person”, these are really amazing experiences. What is your beauty regimen? I laughed inside, because I am a pizza person, I hate physical effort (except dancing, horse riding, archery and sword fighting) and I do not, unfortunately, stick to a healthy diet, I all the time forget to drink water but.. I am hair and skin maniac! I do a lot of things for my hair and face, I intrested in korean face care. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? When I get such a question I always answer: “ask my friends”. I can’t be objective for myself. What are your plans for the future? I never plan, because I am convinced that I have to focus on what is now, but if we talk about what I want- I want to develop in modeling and I want to travel a lot. I want to also train my makeup skills, because I want to tie my future with makeup. And I will reveal my little secret- I dream about to be a burlesque performer and I hope one day my dream will come true. - 40 -

What are some of your favorite experiences so far? There is a lot of them! But if I had to choose the most favourites one, I would choose: -Shooting with animals (horses, rabbits, dogs and the others) -Posing with Peruphasma (this is the kind of insect) - Participating in the first Polish photographic comics -Fairytale workshops at Anna Sychowicz (thank you I could be there!) -Posing at -20 celsius degrees (I cried with a frozen teras on that shoot, haha)

Can you tell us a little about you? Sure, I’m Anna Lignarska, 37 years old portrait photographer from Łódź, Poland. I’m interested in psychology, communication, interpersonal relations. I use this knowledge in everyday life as well as during photography. I have to say, that building relationships with the people I photograph is as important to me as release the shutter button at the right moment. How and when did you get into photography? I started my adventure with photography three years ago. At the beginning in the circle of my interests it was a macro photography, landscape, then street photography. It was my way to photograph people. What does photography mean to you? Photography for me it is a way of express myself. It is also a interaction with people and their own emotions. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I specialized in portrait and nude photography. I photograph both women and men. I have to say, that I am an emotional, sensitive person, that's why I attach particular importance to illustrating the emotions of a people. Where do you get inspiration from? For me music is inspiration, which plays a big role in my life. I react to sounds, images, also I like to listen to people, to experience. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Most often I want to show the personality and emotions of a person in the pictures, so if I do not know someone, first I try to spend some time with him, get to know him better. So I'm working on my sensitivity and psychological skills more than planning a photo session. - 52 -

Studio, on location or both? I take most of the photos in the studio, I like peace, comfortable conditions that are important when creating. Then I have control over the light. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? Difficult question and I have no unambiguous answer. I will definitely approach photography with passion. My basic source of income is something completely different. I photograph after hours. I hope that it will change sometime. What has been your most memorable session and why? Sessions that can not be forgotten are those in which the photographed people exposes true emotions. Tears are the most difficult for me. 10 Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Nikon D610 and 50mm f/1,4, also I have 85mm. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? I think that an approach with passion and commitment is important in all the things we do. It is also important to constantly look for inspiration and develop. What do you think of our new magazine? I believe that this is a good initiative. Can you tell us a little about you? Well what's to tell and share.. I'm just a woman of 36 who does what she likes to do. I'm a creative person.. Loves to paint. Do some photography myself and I'm expressing myself on the pictures. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I'm a perfectionist. It can be a good quality but sometimes it over rules me. I'm think I'm not the most easiest model to work with How did you start modeling? Well this is a funny story. My neighbor (hobby photo-grapher) asked me 1,5 years ago to shoot some portraits and make some pictures with my paintings. that would be good for sales. She convinced me eventually… cause I thought… Me? Why? Is it necessary? Bit shy… NoNo really a bit shy! Cause I'm not that pretty.. I'm just normal and not a model for sure, right? !! Turns out that it was a great success after all What do you think of the work as a model? Modeling shoot be fun. It's hard work sometimes but when you are selective in who you are shooting with and a few times a week it will stay fun. Like every job and hobby What is your beauty regimen? No stress :) I think the anti aging of today is to reduce stress. How? That's different for everyone.. For me it's a day of “nothing” planned a week and every day a walk with my dog. I use daily vitamin E creme for my skin and do a few times a week a squat workout. Modeling is good for your muscles too! Oh and I don't drink.. And don't drink sodas. Coffee, tea, water and milk What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? Everyone is unique and beautiful in there own way. Me, I think I'm good in expressions because it's important to tell a story in every picture. Life ain't about being pretty all the time. My body is slim and very suitable for artistic nudes What are your plans for the future? I have learned myself not to look to far ahead… I love surprises in life. Especially when it's a big on. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Nude on television hahaha Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Yes be selective and start to build a good portfolio even when you have to invest. You keep the dirt away :) What do you think of the magazine? Photographer Laura Caglioni (Italy) Can you talk a bit about yourself? My name is Laura and my friends call me “La Click� and I come from the province of Bergamo, a city near Milan, I work as a clerk in a textile company and my hobby, even if reductive, is photography. How and when did you get into photography? I started seriously in 2014, through friendships I discovered some photography courses and out of curiosity I participated in the basic course. I wanted to do something for myself, and only during the course, thanks to the enthusiasm that was transmitted to me, I decided to take a SLR and put the compact in the drawer. I did not believe that at that moment I would have found my way to express myself. It was love at first sight, I have always loved "shots memories" but until then I had not "loved photography�. What does photography mean to you?! For me it is a medicine. I felt the need to do something for myself, I had just become a mother, and I felt the need to express myself. This gave me photography, a language to express myself. Describe briefly your photographic style for our readers. Dreamlike and melancholic. I spontaneously represent a woman a little melancholy, it is the feeling of passage to get to happiness. I represent the fragility of the female soul, in every woman there is an incredible strength that however comes, in my opinion, after having touched more sensitive strings. I try to stop the moment of passage. I think it's part of me having moody and emotionally unbalanced moods so I represent that moment, I represent those thoughts that pass in the head in the darkest moment. And I hope to do it. Where do you get inspiration from? I just deepened the concept of Watching and Seeing, and then I will answer I See a lot, I go to both photographic and painting exhibitions. Purchase many books about famous painters and photographers. Now, for example, I admire Frida Kahlo in her dramatic expressiveness in the paintings. Since there was an exhibition here in Milan I wanted to go a little prepared. I believe that the forcing of being nailed in bed has given vent to his art making it unique because it is given by a forcing that I understand well. ! Think ahead of time what do you want in the picture? I think in advance of the colors, background and outfit but surely I let myself drag from the set. I love the emotional involvement between me and the subject. I start from an idea and undoubtedly take inspiration and notes, but the set is the heart of my shots, if there is an exchange of ideas during the set or the subject gives me unprepared poses I usually fall in love with the shot because maybe manages to interpret the emotional state that I transmit and manages to implement it with its movements. The subject should never be underes-timated despite being a means. For a good job, we both need to understand how it is best to interpret the pre-established topic.! Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I consider myself a fan of photography. I do it primarily for myself so this satisfies me completely. I do not know what the future holds for me. What was your most memorable session and why? Undoubtedly the first, when I discovered what I really could do. I started by taking a friend, who has now become my muse. I understood that when I take off from the out-side world I forget the time that passes and I absorb completely from the set. When I saw the shots at the pc I got excited and I started working only on a style, the portrait and the detail cutout. And the last one that gave me the satisfaction of achieving what I had set in a short time after the various passing exercises that gave me the other sets, I definitely have more aware-ness. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I went from Nikon to Fujifilm Mirroless and now uses only this one with 35 mm lens. What is the only advice you would like to offer a new photographer who wants to start his own business? First of all, do it for yourself. I am of the opinion that if you have nothing to transmit, the photo will not transmit. So to see what you need to shoot and what he wants to communi-cate from there is all downhill, otherwise it remains a simple exercise of photographic technique. In my personal opinion there are already too many technically perfect photos around we need emotions. What do you think of our new magazine? Can you tell us a little about you? I’m 22 year old girl from Gdańsk, Poland. I got bachelor’s degree in product design from Academy of Fine Arts last year. I have many interests and they changed a lot through years. From doing fencing, art, design to modeling. I had my first photoshoot just 1,5 year ago and I have never ever thought that I would really get into modeling. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I worked really hard to accept myself and fight my insecurities but if I could change anything it probably would be the persistence in working out. I’m already skinny so I don’t have any body goals but I wish I was more flexible and steady so some photo shoots would be less exhausting for my body. How did you start modeling? It all started from a pretty funny situation actually. My mom’s boss asked her if I was a model because he was sure that he saw me in some magazine. Later he left that magazine on my mom’s desk. She found out that it’s a magazine from our home-town and inside were pictures of a girl who really looked alike! She later showed pictures to me and I was really confused for a moment. Bizzare experience truly. Even my dad was tric-ked that it was me. After that I thought, if she’s a model who really looked similar to me, why wouldn’t I try modeling too? What do you think of the work as a model? For many, it seems to be just a dream job or an effortless hobby. In fact, it’s a really exhausting work. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet a lot of interesting and truly inspiring people or even good friends. Personally, thanks to modeling, I improved my self esteem and slightly opened up to people. I realized that there is no such thing as one beauty standard and I really started to feel beautiful the way I am. For sure working as a freelance model is different than working for models agency. Unfortunately I don’t fit into many agencies standards but I don’t think that I would be able to give 100% of myself to modeling only. What is your beauty regimen? First of all, a good diet. For many years I ignored the facts, but food is crucial to my wellbeing, good skin condition and amount of energy I have a day. Besides diet obviously sleeping well and always having a good moisturizing cream right for my skin type and current season. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? Reliability and sense of humour. I do my best on every photoshoot and also try to have a good time with the crew. I think that it’s important to have a good mood and understanding among each other to get the best results possible.

What are your plans for the future? I want to take a part in fashion shows more. Just recently I walked on the runaway for the first time ever and it was an amazing experience! I was really stressed out because I don’t usually wear high heels and walk in front of so many people looking just at me. I tried and gave 200% of myself to those 2 minutes on the catwalk. I’m so thankful to Karolina Kalska, the designer, who gave me this chance even though I had no experience. Next weekend I will be opening another fashion show and I’m really excited and so nervous. Besides catwalks I also dream to be on a cover some day and obviously to work with more and more amazing people every day! What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Besides my first fashion show surely an underwater photoshoot. It was really intense task, a lot harder than I thought at first. It was the moment that I realized how difficult being a model can be. Also the most important for me was a photoshoot with my mother. It was a present for her birthday. I chose one of my trusted photographers that I’ve worked with before. I knew she would take beautiful pictures of us and make our day really special. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Believe in yourself, be tough, work hard. It’s not an easy job but the results can be breathtaking. Models must know their strong qualities. Watch top models, how they walk or pose and try it yourself in front of the mirror. Be aware of every inch of your body and don’t hesitate to talk with photographers. Sometimes dialogue is the key to success. It’s good to look closely at your pictures, try to find mistakes and try to improve yourself to be better on the next shoot. Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Yana Yakovleva, I am from Ukraine and I am 22 years old. I graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Poland with a degree in journalism. Since childhood I was engaged in music, played the piano and was engaged in vocal. I was always attracted to a more creative profession, but I couldn’t find myself for a long time. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? We can't be perfect , so I wouldn't change anything. The only thing I would add 5 inches tall haha. How did you start modeling? Im from a small town in Ukraine and if someone once told me that I would become a model, I would never believe it. When I was studying in Poland, my friend bought a new camera and asked me to pose to him. It was my first shooting. After that, my photos began to be noticed by other people, photographers invited me to the shooting. Few months later I was invited to an interview at the Agency in Warsaw then I signed contract. My first trip was to India, and after that I couldn’t stop do modeling. What do you think of the work as a model? Many people say that this job is not long-term and not serious. But those who have never worked in this field will never understand you. The opportunity to travel around the world, meet new people, work for different brands, See yourself in magazines is priceless. In each country, new adventures and new experiences. At a very young age you have to be more responsible, learn new languages, find an approach to different people, get used to different conditions. Its make you stronger. What is your beauty regimen? I don't like makeup, so most of the time I go without. After shooting , I always try to keep my face clean and moist. Also i an opponent of unnatural beauty. So painted eyebrows and fake huge lips are not for me. I love folk masks, which were used by my mother - it's either a mask with clay or celandine. The effect is much better than from expensive and advertised products. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? First of all I am very simple. In Ukraine, people say " be easier and people will reach out to you." I am always very sociable, I have many friends and I always find a common language with different people. I have not high growth and many agencies told me that except Asia I will not work anywhere as a model. I have long hair, which also does not fit the criteria. Many agencies agreed to work with me only if I cut my hair and fly to a contract in China or some other country in Asia. But I don't like changing to be like everyone else and i flew alone to Paris to look for the Agency. I guess my desire and my persistence helped me to be myself and sign contract with mother agency “ Allez model management” and after with “ Up models” Agency in Paris. - 102 -

What are your plans for the future? It is difficult to tell about plans right now, one dream came true and you have a second one. The most important thing is the process when you go to your dreams. I'd like to work in countries where I haven't been yet. As long as we are young, we must use every chance and opportunity that life gives us. So I don't think about what will happen after the model's career. I am sure that by that time I will have a new hobby. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? In each country there were many different moments that will forever remain in memory. But one of the memorable days is the day I signed a contract in Paris. When all the agencies say that this market isn't yours and you don't stand a chance, you lose your faith confidence over time. But fate gives you signs from above so that you don't stop. You can knock at 99 doors and they won't open to you, but you'll come 100 times and they'll open the door for you. So it was happen with me after many attempts, I came to the interview and already felt that these are my people and they will give me a chance. When the answer came, I was crying from happiness, I will never forget this day and I am so grateful that they have believe on me. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Never listen to the opinions of those who don’t know what is best for you. If this is your dream, go for it. Otherwise, you'll never forgive yourself, which at least you haven't tried. Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Vladyslava Kuzmenko, but my friends calls me Vlada. I am from Kyiv, Ukraine. I’ve been modeling during last 5 years. During my modeling I’ve been visited China, Mexico, France and some other beautiful countries. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Oh, It is quite a question. At this moment i am working on procrastination. I believe that this part of character might stand between you and your dreams. How did you start modeling? Well it starts pretty simple: once upon a time, one girl realized that she has not enough photos :) One of my friend, just started doing photos as a hobby. The pictures of me that she made was so cool!!! At that time i had not even a clue that the hobby of two friends might turn into a professional career for me. Some of my social media friends, who saw my picture on-line commented it like: “are you a model?” or “you should definitely start modeling”, but I didn’t take it seriously. At some point I’ve decided to post some of my photos on internet resource, and just give it a chance. You can not even imagine how surprised I was when managers from agencies start calling me, and offers to sight up a contract to work aboard the country. Everything starts running so fast afterwords. But one of the toughest decision of that time, for me, was to finish my studying. My case is very unusual: I’ve started modeling very late, according to requirement of profession, it was after my university - I was 21. What do you think of the work as a model? Working as a model is same difficulty as any other profession. It is aprocess which continue 24/7 -because you have to “build” yourself. And I’m talking not just about how do you looks like, but I’m also talking about your personality. It is very interesting work for creative and hard working people. It is sometimes “hard on you” and coses you a lot of stress, but the joy and satisfaction frome achieved goals is totally worth it. You have to be very flexible, for example, today you are the princes in the beautiful dress, and tomorrow you have to turn into a wolf from the wild forest and the next day you are a beggar, because stylist needs exactly that image. It is not your call to pick a character, you have to be a professional no matter what is your opinion, mood, problems are at that moment. It is what define you as professional. You have no right to weakness or drama. Each and every girl dreams to become a “Cover Girl” one day - but they should remember what is standing behind it. Being a model is a hard work, sometimes it might be strange, weird, but always interesting. What is your beauty regimen? Everyone knows the simple old rules: “life schedule, good food, good mood, good time” - is a key to a happy life :) I am applying this rule to my life as well: proper nutrition, good night rest, some sports (preferably on a fresh air) and a spiritual growth. Of course it is not always possible to follow my schedule - but i am trying keep myself on track - 114 -

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I don't think that I have any special qualities that differ from others. I just know how to combine the necessary qualities at the right time. I think it is to fill the customers ideas and totality my look with charisma, and show exactly the same image as customer created in his/her had. What are your plans for the future? Conquer the world!!! :) Honestly I prefer to share my achievements but not my plans because what I did will told you much more about me than just a words about stuff that i might do. So call me in 6-8 month and I will love to share with what is going on. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? I was always impressed by beauty of nature and masterpieces of architecture. I couldn't fall in love in it when I’ve visited Paris. I felt so Lucky that I had a chance to work there. Mexico City impressed me with its nature. I like to find new friends, people with the same state of mind as i am, having some fun stories to talked about. One of the my favorites experience was having a photoshoots with my friends on the ocean shore. There was a seals which taking a sunbath not far from us (yes it was in a warm climate) and dolphins was followed our boat. We had so much fun at that day. I love when it happens such easy working day: when you inspired by every single moment of the process. And another story is also from Maxico. I had to work in the show of Stella McCartney- which is one of mine favorite designers!!! It is such an honor when you are able to work with someone who was your inspiration during long period of time. It is such a great filling that gives you more power to work on your dreams.

Chantelle Dossert Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? I have many of them, I so do :) The first one is NEVER compare yourself to others!!! You are an individual and you have a power to turn your flaws into virtues. Do you have a goal? Go for it! If you can’t go - crawl. But do something - don’t stay aside. Never give up. Work on your lows and weaknesses. Bad defile - start your morning with a high heels. Do not know how to “pose” - you have to open magazines with a top models and just copy them, until you’ll get how to do it, until you’ll make it just natural part of yourself. You have to make customers fight for you. Alwayse with a positive thinking, always with a smile on your face. You have to know when and what should you say to convince pic you out of all the rest models. Because our work is about creating an image which consist of your outlook and personality. Use your life experience during your work. Try to use your own emotions during your work. It will helps you to become more natural on pictures. You have your inner light - use it. Let it shine true your eyes and attract people to you. Make them feel “butterflies” when they look at you and your work. What do you think of the magazine? I like to read an articles about my colleagues from the other countries, and also share my personal experience. I think that we should stay on touch - know about little “tricks’” which your colleagues are able to share. Share your own once. It is so nice that your magazine can be a link with another part of the world. You can find here a different points of view for an interesting topics. We can do so much more when you have a support. Erzähl uns etwas über dich. Mein Name ist Yvonne Vöpel. Ich bin fast 29 Jahre jung und lebe in der schönen Stadt Wiesbaden in Deutschland. Ich habe das Privileg mit tollen Menschen zusammen arbeiten zu dürfen und das zu tun was ich liebe, fotografieren. Wie und wann kamen Sie in die Fotografie? Fotografie hat für mich schon lange lange Zeit eine große Rolle gespielt. Als Teenie habe ich es geliebt an-dere zu fotografieren und mich kreativ auszutoben. Die Fotografie ist immer mehr in meinen Fokus gerückt somit habe ich vor knapp 1,5 Jahren beschlossenmeine Liebe dazu aufzubauen um dann komplett davon leben zu können. Was bedeutet Fotografie zu Ihnen? Mir bedeutet Fotografie sehr viel. Es ist mein Ausgleich zum Alltag. Fotografie ist grenzenlos. Das ist das, was ich am meisten daran liebe. Man kann sich mitteilen oder auch einfach nur zeigen wie schön etwas seien kann. Bitte kurz Ihre Fotografie-Stil für unsere Leser zu beschreiben. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich bereits einen eigenen Stil habe, aber ich mag es vor allem Frauen zu fotografieren und das auf eine starke Art und Weise. Farben spielen eine große Rolle für mich. Wenn sie harmonisch abgestimmt sind, ist das für mich wie eine Symphonie in den Augen. J Woher bekommen Sie Inspiration? Meine Inspiration bekomme ich durch Themen die mich beschäftigen, Dinge die ich mal gesehen habe oder die ich mag, Urlaube und Reisen inspirieren mich zu meinen Konzepten und auch Menschen. Würden Sie sich selbst ein Bastler oder ein bezahlter Profi? Ich glaube ich habe etwas von beidem. Man braucht Freiraum für Kreativität und neue Inspiration. Denken Sie im Voraus, was Sie im Bild wollen? Ich plane schon sehr genau was für einen Look möchte ich erzielen welche Stimmung soll der Protagonist vermitteln und was möchte ich damit sagen. Einen sehr großen Teil des Shootings macht für mich die Planung aus. Ein Bruchteil bleibt aber dennoch immer für Spontanität. Daraus entstehen oft auch sehr gute Ideen. Studio, vor Ort oder beides? Ich mag beides sehr gern, da beides seinen Reiz hat. Die letzte zeit habe ich viele Shootings im Studio gemacht, aber ich freue mich riesig auf den Frühling und Sommer, denn es stehen einige Konzepte auf dem Programm die ich umsetzen möchte. Ihr größtes Erlebnis Sitzung war und warum? Für mich ist jedes Shooting ein neues Erlebnis, aus dem ich lerne, mich weiterentwickle und wo ich tolle Menschen kennenlerne. Was war die größte Quelle der Inspiration für Ihre Arbeit ausgewirkt? Die größte Quelle für Inspiration ist für mich jede starke und taffe Frau auf unserer Erde die ihre Ziele verfolgt und alles dafür gibt um diese zu erreichen, egal was kommt. Dieses Thema wird sich auch in Zukunft noch stärker auf meine Arbeit auswirken. Nikon oder Canon? Lieblingsobjektiv? Sony. J Ich bin vor einiger Zeit von Canon auf Sony umgestiegen. Meine Lieblingslinse aktuell ist das 24-70mm 2,8 von Sony. Allerdings wartet meine neuste Errungenschaft schon auf die nächsten Shootings – ein 90mm 2,8 von Sony. Was ist ein Ratschlag möchten Sie einen neuen Fotografen zu bieten, die ihre eigenen Unternehmen zu gründen? Wenn du einen Traum hast, dann lass dir von niemandem sagen das es nicht geht. Kämpfe dafür und gib nie nie nie auf.

Can you tell us a little about you? Im a russian model from a very small place in Siberia but was living in many different countries and travelled around the world a lot! Was each year living in London;Paris; Sydney.However, surprisingly i found myself in Mexico city and second year i live here already! Have a degree in finance (as a economist, trader, broker, dealer) If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I would learn more languages when i was younger and would love to leave Russia earlier (so i could have more opportunities to become more sucessfull famous and rich), i would start gym earlier as well and not that much parties as i used to have before! How did you start modeling? I never was thinking about it seriously because in Russia its not that respectable and important profession. very competitive market as well.But since i started to live abroad and travel a lot i started to love this lifestyle and the easiest way for me to find a job was modeling. Didnt know any basic spanish or french and couldnt find another job. What do you think of the work as a model? Its the best way to show your beauty and your personality.Its always fun to work with art people. They are very different compare to office plankton. U have a lot of free time to enjoy life and even when u are busy u taking care of your body, diet and enjoying in a very interesting projects with amazing people around.Its not a job for me its a dream came true! What is your beauty regimen? As a real model u always taking care of your regiment and trying to avoid night events because if you not you will not be in shape and look a lot older.In a normal life i didnt take care of myself that much and spent my time whatever i wanted. I cant do that anymore as a model.Suppose to be always ready for important castings and show myself in the best side. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? Im super brave! Never had any relatives or friends overseas to help me in my way. Always took a risk and never regret about it. If you really wanna be a model don´t be afraid and just go for it and don´t think about yourself that you not tall or beautiful enough! It was my huge mistake and i started too late. Photographer Stephane D. Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Stephane, I’m French but I leave now in UK for a very long time. I’m a fashion/glamour photographer. I’m a PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) person and photography make me happy.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers ? I shoot lot of different style from fashion to erotica. The one I love the most is lingerie and implied nude. My first priority is the happiness of the model and the elegance. Happiness Beauty and Elegance are the words I wish that describe my style.

How and when did you get into photography ? At the age of 12, my godfather gave me his Olympus OM 1 and all started here and never end. I felt in Love with photography immediately and started to learn everything about it. I tried many different methods from glass / film / polaroid to digital.

Studio, on location or both ? Both, but love location shoots particularly in Luxury house with natural light … Studio is more technical choice when you want to be very precise with lighting. Both important.

What does photography mean to you ?For me photography means show beauty and emotions of people. I love meet new people and show why I think they are beautiful. I love taking pictures, photography makes me happy and feel good. Sometimes you can say in a picture what people would not say with words.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional ? I consider myself a passionate photographer (or Semi-pro) and I try to do only the things I like in photography. It is more important to get pleasure and satisfaction from my work than the actual monetary value that goes with it. I try to accept professional works only if I really like the project but unfortunately that is not always possible….

Where do you get inspiration from ? Everywhere, I look many portfolio site, photography site, Pinterest and photographer group in Social Media. I have in mind the Models I want to work with, then when I see an image I really like I start to think how to do it with this model. Think you in advance what you want in the picture ? When I have a project I always prepare a Mood Board to explain what I have in my mind. sometimes I also like to impro-vise when something unexpected happens during the shooting, like a particular model’s expression or a singular event, object and other things that can occur during the session.

What has been your most memorable session and why ? I have 3 memorable time, my shoot with Ilvy Kokomo, Sophia Blake and Tanya Atherton. These 3 shoots were like dream for me, as Models ideas and mine was like just one unique. These 3 women are ‘Muse’ for photographer. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer ? Never think that you know everything, go to workshop of different photographer with different style to understand how people work and pick up the best of all. I go to at least 3 workshop each year to continue to learn. Don’t copy people work, do your own.

Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Marta and I like my name - it is easy to pronounce in many countries, and I love to travel. I was born in the 90s, it is the year of the emergence of digital cameras and cameras, laptops, MP3 and DVD players, satellite navigation and the general increase in the popularity of electronics. I like to go back to the times where the mobile phone was like a landline one and the first digital cameras were doing worse photos than the now-most-used mobile phone. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I will certainly not surprise you, height. Besides, I would like to be a more patient person. How did you start modeling? I started in 2009. The world of photography has interested me since I was a little girl, and the camera has been in my house since I remember. I was fascinated by fashion magazines as well as artistic photographs watched at shows or on television. So if I had the opportunity to pose for photos, I used it, even if the photographer was my dad or self-timer. I do not remember how exactly it happened. I had to find myself in the right place at the right time, because when I was already in the first professional photo session, the next ones came very quickly. I was also helped by the fact that I wanted to educate myself towards visa and make-up for photo sessions, I was helped by a lot of great people thanks to which I met many photographers who often saw me working and asked if they could take a few photos. The rest was already standard, I set up profiles on model portals, I applied to a couple of agencies, the managers began to ask... after many years I know that I like to work as a freelancer. What do you think of the work as a model? It is a very hard job, it's the first thing that comes to my mind when someone asks me about it. For sure it is a job for people with large amounts of energy and a distance to themselves. You also need to be able to get what's yours. I had to learn this in the first years of my career.. You suppose to create your image that reflects the truth about who you are every day. You have to take care of many things and they do not end only on the beauty, I mean, for example, signing complicated contracts and speaking in foreign languages. You should be able to find yourself in many situations and at the same time keep a good mood and, above all, love to pose. If you love to pose then it will give you the necessary energy to perform this profession. When you are doing something with passion, there is definitely something you will want to do all the time. What are your plans for the future? Life has taught me that sometimes it is better to plan nothing and get carried away by the moment. However, if I were to look very forward - I would definitely like to live in a warm country and run a small beauty and photography business there. - 164 -

What is your beauty regimen? I regularly exercise at the gym, I love to spend my free time actively and I like good, healthy food. First of all, remember your health - being in constant motion, people forget that regular medical tests are often the key to discover why we suddenly have less strength or we gain weight for no reason. Understanding your body is a step towards true self-satisfaction. In addition, you must learn to live with a distance to many things, so that we actually give a rest to the body and soul - less worries equals more smile every day :) What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I would definitely change that I'm not tall. Very low. I am 1.54 tall. However, this does not prevent me from getting commercial contracts. I also have red hair and a porcelain complexion. This is not a description of a standard model but it works for me :) I love to act in front of the lens, play with the place, stylization, and use all available options. People often say that ideas never end. I am interested in people and their stories, where they come from, what are their plans and what has made them into photography or fashion - that's why you can call me a little talker on the backstage :) What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Certainly these will be those experiences that demanded dynamics and emotions. I like when something happens on the set. I like challenges. I remember greatly the work on the sets of music videos, because they demanded a lot of movement and ingenuity from me. When it comes to photos, I love working with animals. One of the most interesting was the session for the animal shelter, which promoted an adoption of animals and helped us financially support the shelter in my hometown in Poland. The challenge was also to pose with wild birds and horses. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? You believe that you can do everything alone and rely on your own opinion. Time, however, shows that it is unfeasible, that it is worth having people around you that will support you in hard times and also help you understand some things. You need people who will help you look at your job from the business side.

Let’s talk about . My name is Joss. I am 45 years old and I live in Paris. I have different hobbies such as travel, cooking and art in general. Before practising photography I was a painter, then a musician (guitarist) and an amateur theatre actor. What is your goal in photography ? First of all, my goal is to transmit captured moments throughout the ages, emotions that will remain as a testimony of a time, a period and all that this represents in sociological terms ! My only goal is thus to move people. With fashion photography I have obviously others goals such as dreaming of working for magazines and fashion creators. But I want to dot it with my one style. In fashion you create more than you capture the moments, but I think that I can manage to merge both styles : create and move people ! What represents for you photography ? I can define photography in 3 words : emotions, authenticity and temporality ! To be moved by a picture, it must be true. One can’t trick with emotions ! When a picture is true, it gives you a bundle of emotions forever ! There is a close link between emotion, authenticity and temporality. Photography remains a time, a moment, if it moves people, that’s a intertemporal moment ! How do you manage to differentiate from other photographers ? I think that my work is different from others as I managed to do the splits : to capture moments in the street with strangers and do posed, worked and prepared in advance fashion photography. Evidently I place a high priority on technic, on light, but the human aspect, the moment, the captured look remain my preference !! How and when have you started photography ? I started silver photography 25 years ago. At that time I took pictures of my close relatives (family). Thats’ how I learn to take pictures, doing a lot of portraits. Very young I was inspired by the 20th century humanist photographers : Sabine Weiss, Willy Ronis, Robert Doisneau… Black and white was then bindingly obvious for me ! There were 3 turning points in my photographic evolution : 1. The exploration of Sebastiao Salgado’s work. What a shock ! 2. The change from silver photography to digital photography was a big turning point. At the beginning, I was very reluctant, as I was fond of silver photography : the moment, the paper photo (versus the picture) and discovering one’s photos developed. Digital photography enabled me to take more photos and thus learn faster and discover more various thematics. 3. The fashion and model photo since 2 years. After explorating Salgado’s work I stopped the family portrait photogaphy and started the street photo. Capturing a stranger’s look, this is authenticity, truth emotion of a lived moment, that remain, with the passing of time, as a testimony for ever. Then model photography came as a challenge. In fashion photography, you prepare, create, with places, material, lights, attitudes, but at the end you freeze the « pose ». I like this creation process, but my challenge was to do it with my photographic soul, a different view, bringing to fashion photography my experience of street photographer who captures the moment. What are your inspirations ? As I say before, my main inspirations were the 20th century humanist photographers and especially Sebastiao Salgado. In fashion, my preferred photographer is Peter Lindbergh, for his black and white pictures and for his true work. But the phographer, who has inspired mostly my artistic work in the way to frame and build a photo, is JeanLoup Sieff.

Do you prepare your pictures in advance ? I always prepare my shootings with models, with inspirations, ideas. But I let myself be guided at the moment by the human aspect, how the artistic relation with the model forms and develops during the shooting time. And sometimes it happens that the shooting is very different from what I had planned. But that is the way I like to work, at the moment, to listen at each other ! Do you work on your photos and can you describe your post production activity ? What an annoying question ! I am in theorical way, against too much retouch on photography, as I am a big fan of Peter Lindbergh’s and Sebastian Salgado’s work and the true captured photography. Nevertheless, fashion photography is very sophisticated. So now, I do post production. I use Lightroom (for the Raw treatment, changing the picture to black and white) and Photoshop to the skin non destructive process production (split frequency). What do you prefer: rental or studio ? I prefer mostly to do my shootings outside as you can capture more the moment But I do a lot of shootings in my own studio too. Model Stephanie Faure - MUA Anna Solovyeva What are the most interesting places and subjects for you ? For fashion photos I am fulfilled in Paris. Paris streets are always inspiring me ! I like textile material too, I try to work with fashion creators, stylists to develop this theme. What would you shoot absolutely ? This is difficult to answer ! If we talk about photography in general, I’d like to do a photo story on minorities in the world. As Salgado did in Genesis. If we talk about fashion, of course work with famous fashion creators would be a dream. What is the most important thing you have learned over the years ? Don’t get a swelled head and work with your heart. Generosity is sometimes difficult to live in this environment and I have often some doubts and questionning, but that’s what makes my artistic soul. I always work with my heart and when I start a new shooting I start it as it was the first one.

What are your short and long-term projects ? In the near future my project is to make my photographic work known to a wider public and to work on more magazine editorials, like you. For the future I would like to become a professionnal photographer but I dont want to become it by the ease as a self declared freelance basis. I wish that this project would be the result of my work, and so its recognition ! That is my way of keeping my artistic truth and soul. Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Martyna and I live, study and work in Warsaw. I will be 25 yo this autumn, but I still feel like when I was 18. I love to live actively and I hate boredom. I smile a lot and I’m filled with positive energy. Talking about myself doesn’t make too much sense, because it’s the best to know me personally during long conversations with a glass of good wine (or a cup of coffee instead). If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I wish I was more selfconfident. I think that I often forget about it through various situations that are happening in my life path, which sometimes creates some doubts and causes complexes. I work on it to go through the life with my head raised, regardless of what difficulties I encounter in my life and what other people say. How did you start modeling? When I was a teenager I had my own photoblog, where I was publishing photos taken everyday by my friends. In high school times, several of my colleagues were interested in photography and sometimes I was staying in front of their lenses as a portrait model. When I started studies and moved to Warsaw I did’t pose for any photos for 3 years... Until I made my first tattoos and published my selfies on one of modeling portals in Poland, which was met with great interest from more professional photographers, who have decided to invite me to participate in their photo projects. What do you think of the work as a model? You must love it if you really want to do it right. Modeling, especially nude art (which I love most), is an extremely demanding and difficult field. It requires full awareness and control of the body, work on the gesture and on facial expressions at the same time. Real photography isn’t only nice pictures, but based on truly emotions being soul of the photos that can keep the recipient for a long time. It touches people, evokes extreme emotions and prompts reflection on life and beauty. What is your beauty regimen? Do not behave yourself. In saying this I mean going beyond standards and frames imposed on us by everyday life. I think that we’re the most beautiful when we’re ourselves. I can feel it when I’m full of contrasts and apparent contradictions, which together compose beautifully and create an unique image of myself. Our truly beauty doesn’t only come from the external appearance, but from what we feed our souls and how we care for our minds and hearts. What are your plans for the future? Time will tell... I'm sure I still want to get better in modeling, but also focus on my private life, which I will keep for myself. I want to improve my mind and body and travel a lot as well, because the world is beautiful and there’s still plenty to discover. - 210 -

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? To be honest, I’m open-minded and I have many ambitions, I demand a lot from myself and I don’t like being compare to others. I can’t stand hate, jealousy and I avoid “emotional vampires”. I’m looking on my references, to check what other people mostly appreciate in me... However, they say that they like my sense of humor, my reliable work and ability to show many different emotions, creativity and spontaneity. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Having contact with people and working with them brings me the best experiece in my life. All demanding photo sessions taught me humility, patience and that I shouldn’t take life too seriously. The hardest thing is to work with other models because it’s require the most dedication from us. We have to learn each other and match our emotions to create consistent picture. One of these sessions was mostly memorable to me. It was nude underwater photoshoot done in pool with the male model that I worked with for the first time (greetings for Dawid and Darek). I was afraid that I would let them down by the pressure I imposed on myself, but after some time I understood that I should focus on work instead of thinking pessimistically. And it worked. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Be yourself and believe in yourself. Open you mind and don’t be afraid to experiment. Go beyond the normality and play with emotions. Stop in time and feel freedom. Learn from others experiences and look for the type of photography in which you feel your best. Never do anything against yourself at the instigation or pressure of other people. What do you think of the magazine? Can you tell us a little about you? Im a 26 years old portrait and landscape photographer, addicted to rock music and shutter sound. How and when did you get into photography? I started from landscape photography about 10 years ago. 3 years ago, during winter I was too bored with constant cold, mud and rain, so I decided to try portrait photography. It was very good idea! What does photography mean to you? It is way to let out to the world all weird ideas that are crowding inside my head. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. In fact, I don't have one style, I'm trying to always make something new, something different, something better. Where do you get inspiration from? You can get inspiration from literally anything. Movie, TV show, book, game of shadows throwing by the trees in the park. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Always! Before photoshoot I try to have an complete idea what I want to do, I’m planning light, colors, framing and all others, but it doesn't mean that I don't improvise. Studio, on location or both? I prefer studio, because I have control over all conditions. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I like what I do, I have my own ideas for photos, but it is also a good job. What has been your most memorable session and why? Probably session with model in aquarium. Completely weird, hard to explain and execute but also with surprisingly good effects. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Nikon, and probably as many others: 85mm f/1.4 What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Can you tell us a little about you? Hi, I am 21 years old, I come from Poland and I live in Bialystok. I study and work there, but after graduation I plan to move to the capital which offers better career opportunities. I am a very energetic person and I cannot sit still! I like spending time actively, meeting friends, traveling, sailing, going to concerts, etc. I also have a very wide range of interests - since I was a child I have been dancing, I have par-ticipated in various sports competitions, but now I devote all my energy to my greatest pas-sion – modelling. I love life very much and I savor it in all possible ways because I know that you only live once and I do not want to waste any day. I have a lot of dreams which I'm gradually realizing. It gives me great joy and happiness, but also the motivation to constantly raise the bar. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Once I wanted to be taller, thinner, have a different hair color. I do not care about these things now. I have fully accepted my whole self. I am a happy person. I have a family, friends, passions. I know what I want to achieve. Probably as everyone else I regret many things I did, or I did not do, but my mistakes have taught me something for sure. I'm more confident, more careful, etc. I would not change anything. Because every failure, every bad decision, made me who I am now. If I had been successful all my life, I would probably be a self-centered fool. You have to make mistakes to become a better person. They say that wise people learn from other people's mistakes, but can observation alone help us grow? If we do not experience suffering caused by errors, can we learn anything? I think not. Everyone has their own cross to carry. Through our own failures, we become better human beings. How did you start modeling? It's quite funny because I never thought about becoming a model, and it all started by accident. My adventure with modelling began about two years ago, when a photographer Krzysztof Płoch invited me to a photo shoot in his studio. I was very surprised and immediately informed him that I’d had no previous contact with "this world" and I couldn’t pose like a professional model. He assured me that everything would be fine and so it was :) It was Krzysztof who infected me with this passion and I am so grateful to him for this;) After the first photo I published, I started to get other offers, and then I created a profile on a portfolio website for models and photographers. I started getting more and more offers :) What do you think of the work as a model? Being a model is hard work, it requires many sacrifices. In addition to the university and work, I use every free moment for photo shoots. Despite all this, it is the best adventure you can imagine. Getting to know wonderful people - photographers, models, make-up artists, designers and others, with whom I still stay in touch. I love it! Thanks to modeling, I also started to perceive myself in a different way, it helped boost my self-esteem. Now I set the bar higher and higher, because I know that I have what it takes to be successful. And one more thing, very important - now I know that you should never give up your passion. - 236 -

What is your beauty regimen? Nothing really special. I prefer to look natural, possibly a small amount of makeup every day. I also try to eat reasonably well, move a bit. For daily care, I often use coconut, almond oil and aloe oil to keep my skin moisturized. Another important thing is sleep and the joy of life, because as you know, a happy woman is a beautiful woman. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I think each of us is unique in our own way. I persistently pursue my goals. I want to stand out, so I also demand a lot from myself, I'm often self-critical and I want to improve at every step. I do not like to stand still, I want to try new things and keep developing. People often describe me as an eternal optimist enjoying life and the smallest things, spontaneous, sensitive and always smiling. What are your plans for the future? I plan to finish my undergraduate and then graduate studies, and after that travel a lot. Nothing gives me as much pleasure as meeting new people, cultures and land-scapes. I am curious about new adventures and all these beautiful places in the world. I also want to spend more time doing photo shoots, because it gives me extraordinary energy and satisfaction. In fact, as for the photo shoots and travel - I'm leaving for Italy this year at the beginning of April to create some beautiful, creative photos in the picturesque cities of Naples and Rome. I’m really looking forward to this! :) In the future, I also want to open my own company, but I will not reveal any details because I don't want to jinx it. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? My favorite experiences associated with modelling are open-air photo meetups, that is trips of a group of photography enthusiasts. We visit wonderful places close to nature, for example in Bory Tucholskie, Masuria, Czocha Castle in Poland and many more - then there is a lot of time to talk, take beautiful photos, often artistic, spontaneous, but also well thought-out and breathtaking. I love these trips and all those people with whom I feel like with my family, because there is nothing better than sharing your passion with others, right? :) Andrzej Kaczmarek

Paweł Szenk Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? My advice is never give up on your dreams! And although there will be bad days, they will pass, and you should not lose hope. Follow the example of more experienced colleagues who are longer in this industry, they are very helpful and you can learn and learn from them. Before each photo shoot, find out who you are going to work with, what their style is. Do not worry about other people’s opinions, ignore nasty remarks and constantly develop your skills. Stay true to yourself. I believe that each of us can succeed, but we have to earn it. If you look ahead, think how to become better, you will achieve a state of mind in which nothing is impossible. What do you think of the magazine? I love this magazine and I thank you very much for the opportunity to present yourself. Que pouvez-vous nous dire sur vous? Felina Del Loula, curieuse et passionnée par le monde artistique dans sa globalité. J’ai développé, enrichi et exprimé ma créativité au travers de la danse, de la peinture, du dessin et du théâtre . Et depuis 5 ans, je me réalise dans le monde de la photographie en qualité de modèle photo et je m’y épanouis. Si vous pouviez changer quelque de vous , qu'est-ce que cela serait ? Je ne changerai rien . Chaque personne est unique , avec son propre vécu , et c’est ce qui en fait sa singularité . Il est important, me semble-t-il de pouvoir s’accepter et de s’aimer soi-même , pour tout simplement être heureux dans sa vie. J’ai appris à bien me connaître , savoir quelles sont mes valeurs, mes qualités, et mes défauts. Mon vécu fait ce que je suis aujoud’hui avec ma personnalité. Quelles sont vos qualités personnelles qui vous distinguent des autres? Je ne sais si je suis la mieux placée pour le dire mais les personnes qui m’entourent apprécient mon naturel, mon sens de l’écoute, ma franchise et ma joie de vivre. Ensuite, je suis consciencieuse et investie dans les projets, en amenant ma part de créativité . Comment avez-vous commencé à être modèle? Un photographe m’avait abordé pour faire une séance, lorsque j’étais étudiante à Toulouse. A l’époque, un peu méfiante , j’avais décliné la proposition. Puis c’est avec un ami photographe, que j’ai fais mon premier shooting en 1999. En parallèle, je faisais également des shows coiffure. J’ai arrêté pendant une longue période , car ce n’était pas aussi simple qu’aujourd’hui pour connaître le travail des photographes, se renseigner sur leur fiabilité et leur sérieux. Et c’est en 2013 , en renouant avec la danse et les spectacles , que cette passion s’est à nouveau réveillée et depuis je continue avec beaucoup de plaisir, en m’impliquant dans des projets variés. Quelles sont vos meilleurs expériences jusqu'à présent? Chaque expérience est enrichissante pour moi. C’ est toujours un plaisir de travailler sur un nouveau projet. . Chaque photographe a sa personnalité, ses envies, ses projets, son univers artistique. La diversité des projets, c’est cela qui me plaît et qui me permet de varier les plaisirs. Certains ont des projets précis et élaborés et je m’y adapte. Parfois je propose des projets, les photographes sont partants et cela devient un réel travail d’équipe dans la coconstruction d’un projet. Et parfois c’est aussi, dans l’improvisation. Je retrouve , en tant que modèle, ce que j’avais déjà goûté lors de mes cours de peinture ou de théâtre. Cette liberté et cette diversité d’expression. Que pensez-vous de votre travail en tant que modèle? Mon travail est éclectique. J’essaye d’évoluer, d’explorer d’autres univers pour sortir de ma zone de confort tout en me faisant plaisir. - 250 -

Avez-vous un conseil à donner aux personnes qui aimeraient commencer dans ce milieu ? Je dirais tout d’abord de le faire pour soi, de se faire plaisir. Faire aussi attention avec qui vous posez, demander des conseils et s’informer.

Comment voyez-vous la beauté ? La beauté est une notion très abstraite et variable selon les cultures et les épo-ques. Je considère que la beauté est en chacun de nous et je m’attache plus particulièrement à la beauté de l’Être.

Quels sont vos projets pour l'avenir? Photographer Bruce Smith Winner of the month Bruce Smith Whenever the world’s ‘Top Fashion Photographers’ are discussed, one name which is always mentioned with immense respect and admiration is Bruce Smith. Since starting as a freelance photographer in 1983, Paris based Bruce has continued to produce stunning and incredibly memorable fashion images, fine art nudes photography, celebrity portraits, nudes and boudoir style portraiture photography on a specialised skill level which leaves other “great” photographers in complete awe of what he has created. Over the past 15 years Bruce has been sharing his knowledge and experience gained over his distinguished career to encourage and inspire photographers through his fashion, portrait and nudes photography courses, workshops and master classes, fashion, portrait or nudes photography holidays in France near Bordeaux as well as other major fashion cities around Europe. Bruce has recently gone through his astounding archive of images to produce a new fine art book titled “130k Words in Pictures”, which contains a collection of his best and most icon photographs. It comes as no surprise that it has already been described as a “classic” by many of his peers within the industry. Kun je ons iets vertellen over jou? Hallo, mijn naam is Ashley ik ben 23 jaar oud en geboren in Helmond. Ik ben in september 2017 begonnen met de opleiding Begeleider Specifieke Doelgroepen. Ik heb een hondje van 19 maanden oud genaamd Noah, hier spendeer ik heel veel tijd aan. Als je iets over jezelf zou kunnen veranderen, wat zou het zijn? Ik heb niet echt iets wat ik zou willen veranderen aan mij zelf, ik ben tevreden met wie ik ben en trots op wat ik bereikt heb. Wat zijn je goede eigenschappen, en je minder goeie? Mijn goede eigenschappen zijn dat ik een heel spontaan en behulpzaam iemand ben, ik werk graag met andere mensen samen en maak ook graag een babbeltje. Ik ben altijd lekker vrolijk en enthousiast, zelfs door bepaalde tegenslagen laat ik mij zelf niet kennen en gaan we gewoon door. Mijn mindere goede eigenschap is dat ik soms iets te negatief naar iets toe kan kijken zodat het voor mij geen teleurstelling kan worden. Hoe ben je begonnen als model? Vroeger als kind had ik altijd wel de droom om model te worden, zo ging ik vroeger al allemaal verschillende poses aan nemen en vond ik het geweldig om te poseren. Jammer genoeg wegens omstandigheden had ik toen niet de kracht om te starten als model. Op mijn 18e zeiden kennissen/collega’s en familie wel dat ik iets met modellenwerk zou moeten gaan doen, ik ben toen begonnen met het verdiepen van mij zelf in de modellenwereld, echter ben ik pas begonnen met poseren op mijn 22e. Ik heb mij zelf toen ingeschreven bij het modellenbureau Models Inc. Hier volgde ik een Catwalk training. 22 februari 2017 had ik mijn allereerste shoot op TFP basis met Rob van Buul, hier is het toen voor mij pas allemaal begonnen. Ik heb veel van Rob van Buul geleerd, hij leerde me waar je op moest letten als model en hoe het modellenwereldje in elkaar zat en werkt met me aan verschillende expressies. Wat denk je van het werk als model? Het werk als model is geweldig en mooi, je kan zijn wie je wilt zijn. Je bouwt heel veel zelfvertrouwen op en leert heel veel modellen en fotografen kennen. Je hebt wel lange dagen en je kan heel moe zijn na zo’n dag met fotoshoots of castings ik vind het niet erg en super leuk en daarom vind ik het de moeite zeker waard. Wat is uw schoonheid regime? Ik draag weinig tot geen make-up, verzorg mijn gezicht altijd met de Rituals dagcrème en nachtcrème. Voor mijn haren gebruik ik altijd haarproducten van Wella Oil Reflections hier gebruik ik altijd de shampoo, conditioner en haarmasker van, ook gebruik ik een herstellende elixer voor na het stijlen van mijn haar. Zo blijven mijn haren glanzend en zacht en me gezicht heel clean.

Wat zijn je plannen voor de toekomst? Mijn plannen voor de toekomst is meedoen aan een miss verkiezing, in verschillende magazines te komen staan. Samenwerken met verschillende fotografen zodat mijn portfolio up to date blijft. Ik ben iemand die van ontdekken houd en graag verre reizen maakt. Zo zou ik nog graag naar Jamaica willen of een rondreis door Zuid-Afrika en Amerika. Wat zijn sommige van uw favoriete ervaringen tot nu toe? Mijn gave ervaringen tot nu toe zijn: Bodypaint voor een fotoshoot, mijn angst overwonnen door met slangen te poseren. Catwalk mogen lopen voor Le Stere op de Dutch Model Event en dat je gescout word voor een miss verkiezing is zeker gaaf. Wat zou je graag nog doen als model? Ik zou als model heel graag internationaal modellenwerk willen gaan doen, lopen voor verschillende fashion shows en op de cover van Vogue willen komen te staan. Heeft u nog een advies voor wie als model wil starten? Als het je droom is om model te worden is mijn advies, begin zo vroeg mogelijk met het ontwikkelen van jezelf als model, zelfs als je onzeker bent is dit iets wat je motiveert en je maakt tot wie je bent. Oefen in de spiegel aan je expressies, wees comfortabel en blijf jezelf. Als je met een fotograaf samen gaat werken check het profiel altijd na voor de zekerheid, bij twijfel neem altijd contact op met een van de modellen die al samengewerkt hebben met de fotograaf of benader iemand die gemeenschappelijk bevriend is met de fotograaf. Neem ook altijd je ouders/iemand mee naar een shoot. Belangrijkste, werk altijd met een contract om mis verstanden te voorkomen. De beste manier om te starten is om je zelf in te schrijven bij een modellenbureau Wat vind je van het modellenland Magazine? Ik vind het magazine geweldig, zo leer je meerdere modellen/ fotografen kennen en het is mooi om te zien dat iedereen een ander manier heeft maar de interesses als model blijven het zelfde. https://www.facebook.com/at181210

Kun je ons iets vertellen over jou? Mijn naam is Danique de laat ben 25 jaar en kom uit Roosendaal . Ik heb 2 kindjes 1 jongen en 1 meisje en ben gelukkig getrouwd . Sinds een paar maanden werk ik als eindverantwoordelijke schoonmaak in een supermarkt ,en dat bevalt me prima . Helaas nooit me diploma gehaald , maar ben van plan op cursussen te gaan doen en dan voor me eigen te beginnen . Me 2e passie is toch wel auto’s de snelheid en adrenaline en de geur van verbrand rubber. Als je iets over jezelf zou kunnen veranderen, wat zou het zijn? Haha ja ik zou graag me borsten nog is laten doen maar zoals gewoonlijk zijn de meningen daar nogal over verdeelt . Buiten dat ben ik erg trots op wat ik heb want 1.61 zijn heefd ook zo zijn voordelen. Wat zijn je goede eigenschappen, en je minder goeie? Als ik ergens voor ga ik er de volle 100% voor en sta altijd klaar voor een ander wat er ook gebeurt is . ik kan alleen heel moeilijk dingen loslaten en dat zit me soms erg in weg zowel op me werk als in me privé leven . Maar ik sta sterk ik me schoenen en leef iedere dag alsof het de laatste is. Hoe ben je begonnen als model? Me 1e echte shoot was met Ronald de heer in 2015 in een kasteel in België . Dit was een lingerie shoot . Ik had toen gereageerd op een oproepje op Facebook . Dat is me toen zo goed bevallen en heb toen zoveel positieven reacties gehad dat ik dacht ik ga hier mee verder . Op Facebook heb ik me toen aangemeld bij verschillende pagina’s en toen is het eigenlijk het balletje een beetje gaan rollen. Wat denk je van het werk als model? Ik vind het fantastisch . ik hou van al die toeters en bellen . De make up de kleding alles . Elke x sta ik weer verbaasd wat er gemaakt wordt . De positieve reacties die je ook krijgt geeft je egt veel zelfvertrouwen . Het reizen vind ik ook egt super je komt op plekken waar je normaal niet 1 2 3 komt. Wat is uw schoonheid regime? Eigenlijk heb ik niet egt een ritme , ik ga 1 x in de week na de zonnebank . Laat me nagels 1x per maand doen net als me wenkbrauwen en haar . Ja en slapen doe ik wanneer het lukt want dat kan soms met 2 kindjes best lastig zijn . Ik heb het geluk niks voor me lijntje te hoeven doen. Wat zijn je plannen voor de toekomst? Vooral genieten van de dingen die ik mag mee maken in deze wereld . En hoop nog een paar mooie opdrachten of projecten te mogen doen , er staan zoizo nog een paar mooie samenwerkingen op het programma . voor de rest zie ik wel wat er op me pad komt en geniet ik van wat ik mag mee maken . Wat zijn sommige van uw favoriete ervaringen tot nu toe? De panorama shoot met Toonen en Wientjes in februari 2018 . Maar zo ook de stulp shoot met Jacqueline verhoef in 2016 dat is ook nog steeds me nummer 1 foto . - 288 -

Wat zou je graag nog doen als model? Ik zou graag nog aan grootte projecten willen mee werken . Hou erg van de creativiteit die het shooten met zich mee kan brengen . stiekem hoop ik ooit nog is ergens op de cover te staan van een magazine of te zien zijn in een videoclip . Zou graag in de top 500 van FHM komen maar dat is egt een droom en dromen mag altijd toch . Heeft u nog een advies voor wie als model wil starten? Doe vooral waar je jezelf goed bij voelt . Zoek eerst informatie op voor je met iemand in zee gaat. Helaas zitten er veel fouten mensen bij . Maar blijf vooral vechten voor wat je wil , soms lukt het niet gelijk of berijk je niet gelijk wat je wil . Maar er zijn meer wegen die naar Rome lijden . Wat vind je van het modellenland Magazine?
